I feel luxury high priced palettes focus on their high pigmentation and blendability and we accept that they might be worth the money as the quality is higher...however if I buy a £20 palette it SHOULD blend and have enough pigment. These high end brands only justify their price because so many lower priced brands fail to deliver the absolute basic requirements. We accept £100 for a palette (well I DON'T buy them myself but I follow the content that showcases them) because we pay less for products which downright fail. If the lower end didnt disappoint a lot (or get falsely hyped up as Morphe used to be) very few people would feel the price disparity was worth it. A £20 palette SHOULD perform but sometimes its just chalk that doesn't blend or come out like influencers show it to do in a video. The idea the £100 palette will do the job comes from so many fails or disappointments coming from more affordable products. Nowadays in the drugstore makeup section I ASSUME the palettes wont work and then an surprised when I find the ones that somewhat deliver. That's some jaded, low expectation consumerism Haha

I’ve definitely bought luxury makeup before and I loved every one I bought. I don’t buy makeup that much, but when I find a pallet or mascara or whatever that I’ve researched and think that’d be a great investment… I’ll get it. Not spending money because of the name, but because of what people really think about the products after repeated use.
One thing I’m divided on though is buying luxury foundations. I’ve bought one in the past and it was incredible… but I bought it in April. I didn’t use all of it before summer so it basically went down the drain. My skin tone changed enough to where the foundation was way too light for my skin. Unless you wear makeup almost every day and will use up the product, I don’t recommend spending your money on luxury foundations.

I'm glad I have the one just to add to my Coca-Cola collection but the actual pallet sucks! The shadows do NOT look as they appear at all. They are very dull and some are almost translucent. I ALMOST bought the entire Coca-Cola collection. I'm glad I didn't. Although, if I find a full unused set cheap enough I may buy it just as a collection to have. Japanese and Korean sunscreens usually have a lot less UVA protection than we are used to in the West. I'm 44 and as fair as you can get, and I do not want my skin ageing and getting wrinkles. I love the unseen sunscreen, they do a big sized tube which brings the price per ml down quite a bit. The lotion is okay, I wouldn't buy that again. Apart from that I stick with French brands like La Roche Posay as they have good ingredients that don't kill reefs and high UVA coverage, 25 as opposed to 12 in some Japanese and SoKo products. It depends on what you want from your sunscreen but obviously I need very high protection because of my skin so I don't risk those products. I am however interested to try Australian sunscreens as they have to have it.

So I have olive skin with an olive (green) undertone, and I personally would LOVE if brands actually included olive (green AND yellow, not just one) undertones. I always end up going with the neutral shades, but 98% of the time they show up super yellow on my skin, it kinda makes me look bruised🤷‍♀️ I haven't worn foundation in a while, and honestly I probably won't wear it again unless I can actually find olive shades

I love the Supergoop Unseen sunscreen but I had the same experience with Glowscreen, I looked awful. It looked fine in the bathroom but when I went outside my bf said I looked like a bronze statue 😂

Yes I am with you on the Applebees lipgloss they literally poured the sauce in the tubes...lol!
Sigma started out as a brush company and their eyeshadows are amazing! When companies go left field with new products... they should hope to do it right because they can turn customers off and ruin the brand!

I always appreciate your honesty. I always look forward to your reviews because I trust your honesty and judgement. However, I was gifted a Space NK voucher and decided to spoil myself with some makeup items I don't usually go for due to being on the expensive side. I got the ABH Nouveau Palette and couldn't be more pleased. Colours are a dream, and the quality is superb, so easy to work with. I wasn't aware of the social media drama, though!

I personally love the supergoop glowscreen. It's my fav spf. As someone with normal/dry skin the glow lasts on me like 15 min. My skin sucks it immediately

I ❤❤❤ the Unseen Sunscreen SO much! I’m here in AZ and it works fantastically. I’m realllly sun-sensitive due to meds and use the USS as a primer if I’m wearing a full face or just use it under a little powder, and no burn! I wanted to hate it, because Supergoop 🙄, but it’s great.

Supergoop was one of the few sunscreens I loved at first and eventually ended up hating because at some point along the way, they reformulated and it started breaking me out SO BADLY. It took me months to figure out it was the sunscreen because I’d been using it for over a year at that point with no problems whatsoever. I quit using it and opted for a Misha sunscreen and the breakouts disappeared in just a few days. Tried it again, broke out immediately. Super frustrating.

ST Tropez Tan Mousse is the ONLY tan I can use that doesn't streak and Doesn't turn orange. I use the light shade because I am SO PALE. I also use the Foam mitten which is the key to prevent streaking. It even leaves a light die when applying so you can make sure every where is evenly colored. They recommend you place body butter on knees, ankles, elbows, between fingers, knuckles & toes to prevent color from grabbing in those areas. WONDERFUL PRODUCT.

I totally understand the Applebee's lipgloss thing. If something is savory and too much like the thing, it's disgusting.
There were these cheeseburger doritos for a while and my friend made me try them, saying they tasted exactly like a cheeseburger. And they did. I was never so nauseous in my life. It makes me sick thinking about it 😆

Hard disagree on the beauty blender foundation. While the shade range was not great and the marketing was shady, the formula was the most beautiful on my oily skin and the packaging was super handy. I just wiped the bottle with an alcohol wipe and dispensed some and used my normal foundation brush and wiped the bottle off when I was done. No foundation on my hands or another surface before applying. It was like a built in palate 🎉

The Supergoop! Glow screen was not a good choice for me either, but for a different reason - I didn't have the tone/color issue you did, but i looked greasy af, not glowy. It was unwearablearable, even under makeup for me. It didn't even look good on the drier areas of my face. I gave it to someone with more aged/dry skin, and they really loved it! I like the Every. Single. Face. and their Unseen Sunscreen. Unseen is a little silicone-y if you dont like it or need something different to prime for texture, but works nice under my makeup.

Did Anastasia Beverley Hills not attempted going into the MLM world too? Or did I dream that? Either at that brand seemed to go from the top of the game to the bottom really fast!
