The 2003 adaptation will forever live in my head rent-free for how absurd it was
The 2000s to the late 2010s were an Odd-Time for most Cartoon Shows to be adapted into a Live-Action Film.
Okay, technically He-Man, Popeye and The Mario Bros. had their own Live-Action Films (which kind of proves that Movies being based on Cartoons goes back further), but you know what I'm trying to say here.
Yeah, me too.
The live-action cat in the hat wasn't that good too.
@@mayracordero382 it’s okay
@@mayracordero382 It was a shitty adaptation, but I had some laughs out of it
The SNL Cat in the Hat Linda memes that are gonna come from this are gonna be gold.
Wait does that mean Elon musk will voice Wario in the super Mario bro’s movie sequel
@@Society.263 Mmm, there has to be another choice other then Musk... Maybe Danny Devito again idk.
Praying for the film to not get cancelled, it's been a long while since WB had an animated film released to theaters and it better not mess up 🙏🙏🙏
There was also the Jim Henson version and the recent Martin Short voiced one in the PBS animated series, you forgot to mention.
Those were both TV shows, not adaptations of The Cat in the Hat.
@@Goldstar_ Who said they have to just be adaptations, as long as the Cat is in them. So they count.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie and I think Bill Hader is a good choice to play the Cat in The Hat. He is a great and hilarious actor.
Bill is the funniest guy ever!
@@mayracordero382 agree
Raise your hand up if you also think he would also work as Knuckles the Echidna with Rob Riggle (who was O’Hare in that other Dr. Seuss film adaptation we don’t talk about except for the memes) as Sonic the Hedgehog, Elijah Wood as (Adult) Miles “Tails” Prower, Emily & Zooey Deschanel as (Adult) Amy Rose & Rouge the Bat, Zachary Levi as Shadow the Hedgehog (either in my future fanfiction “Sonic the Hedgehog: Speed Demons”), Zoe Saldana as Blaze the Cat, Shane Ritchie as Dr. Eggman and etc.
To be honest , I think it’s worth noting that last week , Deadline confirmed that Marc Brown’s Animated Preschool Series ‘Hop’ Gets Premiere Date On Max on April 4th 2024
I think some Concept art leaked a while back and it looked really good.
It looked gorgeous and imaginative. ❤
Let’s hope it’s an improvement over the original live action version! 😦
I hope it will have a similar art style to Nimona or Spider verse since the dr Seuss art style would look really cool in that style.
Even though I wish it was 2D animated
Gotta agree, unless if the film is sent straight to streaming just like green eggs and ham

I could say the art style of this film could be inspired by the art styles of The Peanuts Movie and Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.

This is Modern-Day Warner Bros Animation. What do you think?
I'm so excited for the Cat In The Hat Animated Movie to come out in 2026! I'll still be 15 in 2026!
Illumination Entertainment 2025
I hope Disney makes an It's A Small World movie. I kind of have an idea for a psynopsis.
The movie starts out like we are oooon the ride. Then after we have visually and auditolrially gone on the ride, the next scene cuts to Mars, where a Martian character is desparately trying to get some sleep, but unfortunately the Earthlings singing the song is keeping him awake. So he sets off to destroy the Earth and that song forever. But some astronauts catch wind of this and decide to stop him and save the world.
I am quite looking forward and quite excited about this announcement of The Cat In The Hat. I'm hoping that it goes well and comes to fruition and hopefully be faithful to the source material. I saw Green Eggs and Ham from Netflix last week, and I enjoyed this series and someday I will watch Season 2 of the show.
0:54 that release date makes sense, considering that March 2nd that's Dr. Seuss's birthday.
Also regarding the animation if its the CG route i'd imagine it looked like Blue Sky's 2008 film Horton Hears a Who.
It will be in CG reminiscing the art style of Dr. Seuss like how The Peanuts Movie did to Peanuts and Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie to Captain Underpants, along with Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who! (2008).
The Cat in the Hat (Animated) Movie is going to be done in CGI Animation.
Can wait for this movie 🎉🎉🎉
The upcoming animated Cat in the Hat movie coming out in Early March 2026 starring Bill Hader as the cat himself would follow a similar plot to the 2003 live-action movie with Mike Myers, but without the dirty jokes and would instead focus on a "multigenerational mixed black family".
Amazing details dave!
Really looking forward to the new Cat in the Hat film.
I CANT WAIT FOR NEW THE CAT IN THE HAT MOVIE

Bill Hader is a good choice for The Cat in the Hat.
It wasn't just announced. It was announced ages ago with the flintstones prequel. The video is called Warner Animation is back.
That was not an official studio announcement. This is.
@DaveLeeDownUnder is it the same thing
No it is not. A trade paper reporting on a scoop or a tip-off is not an official studio announcement. A movie is only officially announced when the studio makes an official announcement themselves. This is how it works.
Bill Hader already played Cat in the Hat in SNL. My top picks for Cat are Martin Short like he did in the PBS kids show and Paul Reubens aka Pee Wee Herman if he was alive right now.
Question ¿ what will be the next Mike Myers movie ? Shrek 5
I hope it’s going to be like the kids tv show on treehouse
My first cat in the hat media is the one on PBS Kids with Martin Short
We making it out of whoville with this one. Can’t wait
There is some news about coyote versus Acme
I know that
So, Samy burch the writer of coyote vs acme said that talks of releasing the film is still ongoing with studio.
I can’t do a report every time someone says “it might come out, actually”. I’ll be waiting for some more solid information.
@@DaveLeeDownUnder we will talk about coyote vs acme later, but anyway, i was wondering of what exactly happen to the popeye animated movie from Sony Picture Animation? Is it dead or something?
Bill Hader Is The Cat In The Hat.
Illumination Entertainment
Anna Farris is sally
Andy samberg is conrad
Let's hope this'll be miles better than the 2003 film. Despite in my view being a guilty pleasure so-bad-its-hilarious kind of film. Plus fitting irony since Bill played The Cat in a SNL parody.

Here is one thing really bothering me now, if The Cat in the Hat will be released in 2026, does that mean there will be different release dates for its spin-off Thing One and Two, as well as the movie of Oh, The Place You will Go! (Both of the latter two shall be released in theaters worldwide between the late-2020's and early 2030's).

I can imagine the YTP where there's a showdown between the Allan Sherman, Mason Adams, Bruce Lanoil/Martin P Robinson, Martin Short and Bill Hader Cat In The Hat. It'll be madness. But then again, that's what cartoonist Dr Seuss was known for... wasn't it?

That’s the reason why bill hader won’t voice fear in inside out 2
The fact that the makers of this movie will pay him more than Disney?
As much as I love the absurdity, that is the 2003 adaptation of The Cat in the Hat, I'm honestly excited about this one because I saw the leaked concept art, and it looks vibrant and imaginative.
Bill Hader is the Cat is so exciting! But the rest of the cast confuses me! Because Quinta Brunson is black, Bowen Yang is Chinese, Xochitl Gomez is a Mexican teenager, and Matt Berry is British. And I have known the story and how it goes for so many years! Can you think of who the rest of the cast, aside from Bill Hader as the Cat, should play in your thoughts?
Wasn’t this movie in development for the past 10 years? I remember this being announced in 2014.
And now another live action popeye movie is in the works.
This might be for a while for waiting for the cat in the hat Animated movie to be released.
To be honest, I was hoping they’d go with someone with a voice similar to Alan Sherman’s, who was the original voice of The Cat in the Hat, but at least they didn’t get Martin Short.
After the Grinch and the Mike Myers movie my expectations are super low… however, Bill Hader is spot on! Fingers crossed!
I don't remember anything from the cat in the hat movie because I haven't seen it since I was a kid but I don't remember hating it or anything.
Imagine if they got Chris Pratt to play The Cat. 😂

Remember why Pixar says Bill Hader isn't coming back for Inside Out 2? Well looks like we found the reason why

Yes, Illumination did make those two movies. They were originally going to do this one, too, but that never came to fruition.
Since 2018, and thanks to a creative partnership with Seuss Enterprises, the screen rights to Dr. Seuss belong to Warner Bros. (That perfectly explains why the "Green Eggs and Ham" series on Netflix was done by Warner Bros. Animation.)

I really don't know how to feel about this one. Green Eggs and Ham was excellent, and it had no right being as good as it was. They somehow had the right cast, they built up a great story with what little was in the original text to work with, while not being an offputting in name only adaption, and then they doubled down with a second season based on an entirely different book and it still worked. It would be amazing if they kept that quality and energy. Then I think about how Horton and Lorax were half good movies. Horton's best part being the new stuff about the mayor of Whoville with an obnoxious, disjointed incredibly early 00's kid's movie quality about it. The Lorax being the opposite and having a good section based on the book, and a lousy framing device. I REALLY hope we get something that's 100% enjoyable without forced edginess and bad pop culture references that held those two back.
I think having the siblings need to adapt to a new town could have potential. Hopefully this could come out better than the 2003 film. Not saying I hate, I don't think I could considering it was part of my childhood.
I would be very surprising if this wasn’t CGI animation at all. It really is the normal process nowadays. At least how I see it anyway.
Don't Forget Cat in the Hat A Know Lots of That
Can we just make the Cat In The Hat in animated series? It work well with Green Eggs and Ham.
Nope
Can we get a dr seuss crossover
I bet it'll be CGI or flash-animated
Hollywood *hates* old classic 2D style animation.
Tell that to Disney himself
Also, if it's CGI, I bet it's gonna be the Peanuts movie + spiderverse type CGI
@@ScroogeKamaziMD no way it costs too
much (for them) it has to be low low-budget
Flash animation it's right in their lane.
Well a bill is playing the cat in the hat……. like a few years ago, I had a very odd dream where Universal finally chose to redo the cat in the hat, but an animated and Bill Skarsgård was the cat ,he has a very kind voice and I can kind of see it. He sounded a little bit closer to how the cat sounds in, the Jim Henson show fused with some of the older animations that came out in like the 70s and the universe likes to give me what I want to happen in the weirdness of ways a.k.a. a bill playing the cat in the hat just the other bill from the it movies 😂😂😂😂
I honestly wonder how they are going to stretch the story into an hour and a half movie. The Mike Myers one was only able to do this by filling the movie with pop culture references and raunchy humor. I am still cautiously optimistic about the movie.
Does that mean his evolution will be delayed?
Yup
Most likely, yes
It can't be as good as the old live action movie.
Did anyone else besides me see the animated Cat in the Hat TV special by Chuck Jones and DePatie-Freleng? That was much better than that crappy live action movie.
Oh, come on, I'm sure it can't be THAT dreadful.
When the hackers attack Warner Bros., when new management takes over, this film and other animated features may be the exception when every single live action feature film that was in production before the new management comes in is put to a halt to make room for a live action equivalent of "The Emoji Movie".
forget about the new cat in the hat movie popeye's coming back with a new live action movie
