I want to try to do this in my bedroom but I want the gaps between the hexagons to be grey but if I paint all the wall grey then the colors I want the hexagons won't go over it. Any help?
it depends on the colors you are wanting to put as the hexagon. you can get samples of the paint and see how well they will cover over the gray. if they are dark enough, two coats should cover over a lighter gray. if not, you could always go back after your remove the tape and hand paint in the lines between the hexagons with the gray. it would take some work, but, will paint pens to help you line off the edges, you could do it without too much problem. A tip. You can fold the paper in half before measuring and cutting. You will only need to cut 3 sides, then open and it will be symmetrical.

Such an amazing job! How long did it take you total?
missmemssme thank you beautiful friend :) i have about 14 hours in the wall so far and probably a couple of more as i clean up the areas where the paint bled under the tape. so, all in all it is a good two full day project.

Why are the lines pink when the tape is removed when the wall appears white when masking?

Should of painted a really light coat of paint that matches the base wall over the tape 1st. Next paint the colors. Lines are crisp and perfect if you do that.
yes that is what we did in our bedroom with the striped wall, but this time took a short cut. won't do that again. TFW

Thank you. I do not have the color swatches unfortunately. But I did the paint at Lowe’s so you might be able to find some teals that are similar in their searches. TFW
