Hey @RoseAnvil, apparently there was description errors on the Adidas website when Adidas first dropped AE1's and Harden Vol 8, leading many to believe it was a mix of both Lightstrike and JetBoost, but they soon fixed it and clarified that it was only pure JetBoost as their midsole cushioning setup.
Honeycomb is a common shape that strikes the balances of lightweight (less material too) and still structurally strong. I don’t think it’s a tie in with the athlete. Plus it looks cool
@@zyzzzzz-b8pthat's a bit over generalized it depends on purpose and use triangles, arches and domes are all shapes that are equally incredibly structurally sound that do a lot more than hexagons in architecture. Unfortunately it still says: "The combined BOOST and Lightstrike midsole is ultra-lightweight and adds outstanding energy return to your most explosive moves." in the description on the Adidas site.
The Ae 1 is actually the most breathable basketball shoe on the market right now so it may have thick material but the honeycomb with mesh behind it makes up for that. Allowing tons of air to come thru the shoe as u walk or run. The slipping u were experiencing wasn't due to the shoe it was due to having a dirty dusty court. Cause every other ball player I've seen review these say they have some of the best traction on the market. I mean AE plays in these, and he has one of the most aggressive performances. So, he is constantly cutting up and he has no issue with grip or traction. Now I did see people who wore these for outside or on dirty courts have issue but. That's with a lot of basketball shoes as well that are mainly meant for indoor use.
I appreciate that Rose Anvil has the grace to change the host during a new product ad campaign. The more of these videos i watch, the more amazed I become with what can be done with foam and other synthetic materials. Yeah they wear out quickly if you wear them all the time for everything, but they can really perform for a few hours in the gym or on the court. I need to exercise more often.
i actually think these have the best traction this year by a lot, i play at LA Fitness where i litereally only buy shoes with top tier traction otherwise i can't actually play and these in dust are incredible, far better traction than the Freak 5, the bron 20's , the sabrina 1's, harden 7's etc
yea I agree, I think the reason they said it was slipping was because the court they were testing on. Had a ton of dust and dirt on it but. If AE is using these and he doesn't have issues with slipping or rolling ankles, then they have plenty of grip. Also seen plenty of ball player UA-cam channels review these and say the same thing and say it has the best traction they've had since kobes, lebrons.
You needed to rip or cut the outsole from the midsole to get a better look at the shank and see if the light strike is encapsulating the boost foam. The boost foam is obviously covered, not showing on the midsole sidewalls.
To continue with the futuristic Adidas basketball shoe theme, I would love to see you review their first Kobe shoe, which is now reissued under the Crazy 1 name
I’m more of a Nike guy but Adidas has been on fire regardless on your opinion of them. I like the futuristic vibe they have going e and every hooper I’ve spoken to raves about them. The Harden 7 in particular was everywhere.
Unfortunately it still says: "The combined BOOST and Lightstrike midsole is ultra-lightweight and adds outstanding energy return to your most explosive moves." in the description on the Adidas site.
Have you reviewed a boot from Capitan? Looking through the archive and don't see one but could have missed it. Specially the Nashville rough-out, currently $295 with a 10% discount for new customers and free shipping.
Melvin is off base.. the traction is phenomenal on clean and dirty courts as compared to other top of the line basketball shoes I wear under the same conditions. IMO top 3 all time playing shoe.
Not related to this video, I'm just wondering why an channel focussed on shoes doesn't mention Meindl. One of the best (if not, the best) hiking boots ever.
I would suggest anyone reading this just to buy one pair and store it in their basement or whatever for 15-20 years. Keep it sealed fresh as fuck. We’ll see what type of money that will be worth.
That's strange bro cuz every other reviewer says the AE1 is the most grippy shoes that they've ever worn in their life so yeah I don't know about your dude over there.. one against many not good odds
Hey brother we want to see you do more cowboy boots from good companies that are accessibile like Black Jack, or Rios of Mercedes, and Hondo. or even a newly revived brand like Hyer who claims to have invented the cowboy boot. Even Rios of Mercedes started out in the 1800's making Spanish cavalry boots. Lots of wild history behind some of these cowboy boot brands

Can you do one on Uniform Standard. Series one or series 5.

I have a small feeling it's one of the better/easier shapes for manufacturing mold make and mold release as well
@@TheDanielscarroll Its common knowledge that hexagons are the strongest shape to make any structure. Thats it

The cushioning is actually full length Jet Boost
I'm so glad you guys have started doing basketball sneakers now!

So why smoke didn't came through?
Players gets different material than the public release. Those has more tractions and much more bounce. We are not getting the same thing.
It's because hexagons are the bestagons

He is a monster carrying the team, so energetic and charismatic. A1 from day 1 😂
visual bug on the "Total $ Destroyed" 11:09
And in the “center cut score”
Yeah I've noticed that in a couple other vids too.

They're definitely among the better looking bb shoes for daily wear.
does this shoe hold up outdoors? i know you mentioned not playing on a razor bladey court but what about painted concrete?

Sir my Nike basketball shoes is 10.5 us size so if AE1 i will take down size 10 us size?
To continue with the futuristic Adidas basketball shoe theme, I would love to see you review their first Kobe shoe, which is now reissued under the Crazy 1 name
most likely because a honeycomb adds structure without adding much weight.
For gits and shiggles I would glue the two halves back together and see how long they can last through stylin’ & ballin’
Can you cut a pair of the Adidas that look like the Cybertruck? I knew someone in middle school with them…and only him.
yall think this guy talkin abt the Crazy 1 ?!?!
I’m more of a Nike guy but Adidas has been on fire regardless on your opinion of them. I like the futuristic vibe they have going e and every hooper I’ve spoken to raves about them. The Harden 7 in particular was everywhere.
That's obviously solid design! Slightly heavier than others, but very comfortable! Really hope AE2 will be better sneaker..
Traction on mine are the best and haven't had to wipe once with the AE 1 All Star.
Can you do a review on “Patron” moc toe boots vs cabelas and like diehard’s “moc toe” like a 100-150$ moc toe review battle?
Shoes worn by the players and shoes release to the public are two different shoes. The players gets better cushion and better traction.
Unfortunately it still says: "The combined BOOST and Lightstrike midsole is ultra-lightweight and adds outstanding energy return to your most explosive moves." in the description on the Adidas site.
As far as I know lightstrike is actually an updated boost so they are hard to distinguish
I need these because love the boost and my yeezys 350 for years. No Air...no BS...just good shoes
Always cut down buddy.
Never towards your second hand.

I love how at the start it says toe tickler 😂
Honeycomb pattern is probably also a reference to the new “airless basketball” from Wilson.
Well... Here in Brazil, unfortunately, these shoes costs around $275...
Why did y’all stop doing the money counter?
Why we got a different host…?

Would love to see the New Balance Two Ways or Kawhis.
Maybe Try different brand like asics and new balance

Waiting for Ae1 black on black not the charcoal
Crazy price for a boost shoe, really makes it look like that it may be a yeezy design from that point.
I love the look of these, but the aggressive toebox taper and hard upper material made for a horrible fit in my case.
Cannot currently try them out, because Adidas apparently cannot produce for the public😊 only Anthony has his own shoes
Please do the "kingGee Comfortmax Work Boot" please !
They remind me of the Yeezy 700 mnvn lace less analog. Big time
They're the bestagons
Yep. That stitch down stitching still looks like balls on those “bear slayers”

Yall need someone to start doing cleats of all sports. Futbol, football, baseball, etc.
I want a shoe similarly designed
I love AE1 so much! Have five pairs. Lol
Hexagon are the bestagons. No other reason needed.
Weird these have the best traction in my current line up
Crazy iiinfinity next please
A serious mistake was not having those hexagonal openings as breathable vents and instead unfortunately was just for structure and aesthetics.

Hey guys, what would you think about looking at football boots? At least 1 or 2 to satisfy curiosity 😂
Looks like a modern adidas Kobe

That shank is straight out of a Yeezy shoe. I have a feeling this shoe is actually a slightly modified unused Yeezy design.
If this was Nike it wouldve been 180-200dollars at least.
Dead wrong about the grip. Actually injured my hip in that my foot didn’t pivot on the forefoot but stuck causing my hip to grind
another good video, i love this reviews
Why would anyone willingly hunt bears?
Every review: These shoes suck. The Bear Slayers, though!
Did Chewbacka and Weston have a lovechild?
I think the upper shank as you called it is the litestrike.
