I'm a huge fan, once having hands on a Heritage H-150 it blew me away how much better it was over the similar prices Gibson. Truly is priced at the Gibson Standard level but getting custom build and quality

Beautiful guitar sounds great and I'm sure the build quality was excellent but for me that headstock is just ugly and they seem to be more expensive than gibsons of the same level. I'll stick with gibsons or epiphones for those styles of guitars. (I have a Gibson les paul studio, a heavily modified Epiphone les paul Muse, an Epiphone firebird with a p90 in the bridge and a 24 year old Fender Strat MIM that I got new in 98)

Please feature KLOS Guitars carbon fiber - specifically, a comparison between their smaller travel sized model and full sized one to show the difference in the volume and why someone would want one model vs. the other. They have entirely carbon fiber or what they dub as a hybrid model with is a CF body and wood neck that has CF stiffening rods. They’re great because they are affordable, high quality bidirectional CF that is the strongest for guitars that may be dropped and hit from any angle rather than the less strong unidirectional or CF powder mixed with various resins/glues that other brands use. They use high quality tuners and nuts. KLOS also offers other CF stringed instruments, electric and bass guitars, and an amazing noiseless amp cable that doesn’t pop or hiss whatsoever. They have B-stock models regularly available and they can also take custom requests features like a sound port, preferred setup specs, etc. I can go on and on. This is a Utah-based small brand, and they’re amazing!
Please feature them - I’m just a huge fan of their work. I’ve seen other people show a few of their guitars, but nobody has yet captured the essence of their brand and the differences between all the models (oh the Deluxe models are SWEET!). Thanks Darrell!

I have had an antique natural H535 for approximately 20 years. Has a matching wooden pickguard. Craftsmanship and fit and finish is outstanding. Mine also has a bound headstock. Nicer than any Gibson 335’s that were available at the time. Gorgeous flame front and back

I’m really glad to hear you say that nearly every Gibson you’ve played had a lip on the binding. I really freaked out when I realized my brand new, first ever Gibson Les Paul had this issue, and almost took it back. I didn’t return it because I love the sound and the look of the top, but to me a non-flush binding seems like amateur hour. None of my Epiphones have this issue, and neither do guitars and mandolins I’ve built! But I was checking through stock at my LGS the other day, and yep, all the Gibsons have binding issues. This seems like a simple problem to resolve, frankly.

I actually just got one of these last weekend. I went to the guitar store with the intention of buying an ES-335. I tried a few out and decided to give the H-535 a try as well. I just found it better in every regard, tone, resonance, feel. It was also a couple hundred less than the Gibson. Great guitar!

I have a Heritage 575 (the ES-175 version, plus a Gibson mid-60's 335 + other guitars). Matter of fact my 575 is sitting 3 feet away from me. I play it every day when I get tired of staring at a computer monitor. Heritage makes some beautiful gitfiddles. 225 Parsons Steet, Kalamazoo. I was at the factory long ago when Gibson still owned it. I believe Heritage is revamping the factory and they may offer tours in the near future. I love my 575. The action is incredible, it looks beautiful, and when I play it through a Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120, the tone is creamy. Heritage rocks.

have many Heritage guits. every bit as good as brand G... and hunting older custom ones is still a lot of fun since they aren't priced like a Maybach (car)...
interestingly... i actually have begun to LOOK for that headstock... which on the custom core has a cool new inlay.
but they will bind anything. use any wood you want. let you pick the dyes for stain...
mike and pete at the heritage were AMAZING to work with.... they made me an AMAZING H150 with all the upgrades and a top to die for... sent videos of them building it...

I’ve had my 535 for 18 years.. I bought it new for $1,800 USD from Wolfe in Jupiter Fl. Nice deep flamed maple burst. I will never sell it. IMHO it’s head and shoulders above Gibson in quality tone and authentic from the original factory…. I also have a H-110 flamed les Paul style heritage that simply blows away any Gibson LP I’ve ever seen. Another forever keeper. The more you play your 535 the more you will appreciate it. Heritage’s went up in price to Gibson level in the late 2000’s…. But are still well worth it In my opinion. Enjoy!

    Another AWESOME review my friend!
First Darrell let me tell you that YOU were the reason that I purchased a Fender Telecaster FMT HH, and man, were you right! Your review was spot on and I love it!
As far as Heritage goes, my good friend Mark Slaughter "of the band Slaughter" (still the nicest guy in Rock-N-Roll!) was endorsed by Heritage back in the day. He not only got to tour the factory several times, he had his own SIGNATURE MODEL! It was one of the coolest shapes that ever came out of the 80's/90's when all of the guitar companies were trying to outdo themselves with crazy shapes...
Also, he was kind enough to sell me one of the LP style guitars at a ridiculous "bro-ham" price! MARK'S THE BEST! He's still rocking out there on the road. Check him out if you can and before I forget, CHECK OUT HIS SOLO RECORDS, THEY TOTALLY ROCK!... Anyway, sorry to ramble. Lol...
Heritage guitars are well worth the price and in my humble opinion they bury Gibson on every level...
Thanks for bringing us GREAT content and honest, reliable reviews for all these years my friend!
    God bless and take care...

Dude I LOVE what you do. You got me hooked on budget guitars. I have 3 Epiphones. One accoustic one lp and one Junior. And I love the Junior! The simplicity of one tone, one volume. The JR is a rocker to the core.

Heritage truly are the real deal. If you hear them side by side with a comparable Gibson the tone difference is pretty dramatic. They just have a really sweet, crisp clean tone. I'm also with you on the volute, but I think the issue is really that mahogany is not the strongest wood, especially if not carefully selected (*cough* gibson *cough*). So the sturdiest solution is a stronger wood like maple and/or a laminate neck like Heritage do on their jazz boxes. Tone/slash vintage vibes considerations keep mahogany understandably going though.

Heritage are great guitars, but I suggest you try an Epiphone Sheraton II & compare it to the Heritage; you might be (pleasantly) surprised. The Sheraton II is kind of a "stealth" guitar: it does everything a 335 does for way, way less. I've had mine forever and love it.

Darrell - great review of a beautiful guitar!
Did you know that the new Harmony guitars (Silhouette, Comet, Rebel, Juno etc.) are made in the same factory side by side with Heritage? Knowing this, I purchased a Silhouette soon after their release and can’t think of, and haven’t seen, a USA built guitar that can compete for build quality and sound for the price!

I have had 2 Heritage guitars -an HS140 and an HS150 - both LP types but the 140 is somewhat smaller and lighter - quality wise they were excellent and better than Gibsons of the day late Norlin era.
For a 335 type I have settled on an Ibanez AS200 form 1979 which is just beautiful both sonically and cosmetically even better than the Heritage

Even with Strat, Tele & Les Paul in my collection, the best overall, for playability, stability and quality of finish the Heritage wins out every time against the many 335's that I have played in my 60 years of playing... just outstanding guitars

Yes! I love Heritage Guitars! I really think they are everything we all wish Gibson was (but of course Gibson isn't). The build quality and craftsmanship on their guitars is top notch and their quality control is super consistent. I have a Heritage H-150 and not only do I think it's the best quality and best sounding "Les Paul" I've ever encountered, but I might also go so far as to say it's the best quality guitar I've ever played. It's essentially flawless, I've had 0 issues with it since acquiring it last summer. I hope to acquire an H-530 next

I agree. Is the Heritage a US$2481 better musical instrument than the Sire S7 ? Your review of the Sire would make that doubtful. The sound of these guitars, plugged in, is the sound of the pickups. S.M.59's can be fitted to any of them.... even the F/fly
