This was so timely as I am making a jacket from my own drafted pattern (and don't have any pattern instructions on the finishing aspects). My question is about the understitching on the facing. I noticed you didn't understitch around the neck edge. Would you usually do that? Also would you avoid understitching out to the center front corner as you did with stopping before the hem line - I can see the sense of that to avoid problems with bulk at the corners. Since I chose not to line this practise jacket (fabric is non-fraying), I wanted to let you know this technique worked so well and looks great! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge with all of us.
How do I add the facing if I'm using a zipper? I want to make a bomber jacket but I don't want to fully line it. I live in Jamaica and it gets hot out here
