My Andhra friend told me this ratio aunty Green gram - 1.5 cup Yellow moong dal - 0.5cup Raw rice - 1cup Then as usual green chillies, ginger and all. The aroma of this is unbeatable!
Mami I do this w.o. rice. As in only green gram adding abundant chopped coriander leaves in the batter. People who are diabetic or on "now rice" diet can have this version w.o. rice.

Vidha-vidhamaana dosai (oora vechu arachu vittadhu, instant-a pannakkoodiya karaicha dosai vagaigal, healthy ingredients vechu modified varieties), idly, upma, maththa tiffin vagaigalum adhukku side-a thottukkarthukku chutney, sambar, kuzhambu, masala, kurma, saagu, gotsu etc. vagaigal [with and without (onion and garlic)] seyyarathukku oru video series pannungo Maami. Ithu ellarukkum rombave useful-a irukkum Maami.
All recipes are good . Definitely this style I will try. But I will mix onions in the batter itself, also grind the Cumin seeds while grinding

Equal measure of green pulses and raw rice turns out more crispy. Pesarattu with upma inside is called as MLA pesarattu in Hyderabad...

Rice is only a small addition to pesarattu, it is mainly moong dhal. Half cup should be fine - like on the video.
