After plans changed because of the weather, I made an impromptu trip to Baker Lake. We did a short walk at the Shadows of the Sentinels trail and found free camp on East Baker Lake.

there is an app - Pin the trash - that you can mark any large trash like that and the will pick it up. They are trying to save all of the free camping spots from being closed down because of trash,

Chantel, that's the first camp site I was like girl she is brave lol. I personally couldn't have slept to good there being worried about just literally in middle of nothing looked sketchy. Chantel , I have been watching yours and Joey's videos since you started.... You both are amazing! I love that your videos are always so upbeat. Even when you have faced challenges, you always seem to be able to pull thru and seem to say to yourself... well, whats next...... I am also a van lifer with my two small pups. This July was one year since I have been living fulltime in my van.... your videos always inspire me...... and I just love Joey.... maybe one day our paths will cross, and our pups can play together...:-)

When the picture of your dash came up, it made me wonder if you have learned to shift down to 3 or 2 when climbing hills? Works downhill too. You don’t have to stop to do that. Check the owners manual.

Just realized you should get yourself a portable jump starter for your van if you don't have one. If youre battery dies and youre out on these forest roads with no cell service or in general you would be in trouble. Even the Garmin In Reach would be a good idea. I have both. As for the charger I bought my dad and I the 'Hulkman' on Amazon. My dad jumped started his 4 wheeler no problem and keeps it in his truck at all times. Stay safe.
I can actually use the jackery to charge my car battery.

Joey looked so happy out on that walking trail. Mt. Baker in the background looks super. Our aussie-doodle found a turkey feather on her walk today, you would have thought she was the queen of the world the way she carried it and strutted along afterwards. Travel safe.

Ah yes, the endless search for a shady camp spot......I know it well. Try a Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp with two extra telescoping poles. I am using this set up nowadays and it is an easy, versatile and inexpensive way to provide shade and shelter for your van. 😎🌴🌲🐕. Love your posts. Hugs to both of you ❤💯
Thank you for your beautiful videos. The way you video makes it feel like we are on the trip with you and Joey. My 4 year old great grandson comes to visit and he says, “ grandma, let’s watch the Joey video.” Then when you are driving, we pretend that “ he is driving” taking me on a trip with him. Used to go up to rustic hot springs before they were fouled. One time in spring we Got stuck in a snow patch just a little longer than car and had to use hands and feet to get out. I carry a shovel in vehicle always now. It’s magical out there. Chain mosses etc.

I’m sorry if this isn’t the place to make a comment on your merch. I ordered two T-shirts. Once was black with some graphics and I haven’t really worn it yet but the pink one with the four black and white graphics across the breast area was a great match to a pair of shorts I love to wear. After two washings holes began to appear in the fabric. Because they were under the arm and not so noticeable I continued to wear it because I loved it. But two more washings and the initial holes had enlarged and new ones were appearing in all different areas. I checked and it doesn’t look like they are in stock anymore. I would have been willing to take a chance on ordering another thinking the was a fluke and maybe a bad batch in fabric. Now I’m wondering if others have suffered the same experience as I did.
I'm sorry to hear that. You can totally reach out to the Spring customer service. That's the company who supplies the merch. There are also different quality fabrics available, and when I got a bunch of samples for the giveaway it was evident that some were better quality than others. That's why some tees are cheaper than others. I personally bought the Tri Blend Tee and the classic hoodie, and both were decent quality. No holes or pilling. Which item did you get, may I ask? Maybe I'll just take that item down if it's not worth it!

After you pass the little trail you and Joey are on on Baker lake road you'll go past horseshoe cove campground road keep going past that and take the next right it's just a gravel road with no sign but it goes down through the trees you come out at the lake and there's a free campground down there with pit toilet and about six campsites that's where I like to go the best it's called lower Sandy campground

Im going to be the worry wart for you today, that light on your dash board is your alternator light my trusty mechanic said its on cause the alternator is not putting out, meaning one of these days you'll be stuck, go get it checked out please. If you really want good mountain camping go to pomeroy Washington and go up into the blue mountains grab you a coffee from perk n beans or Myers really small town

Do you carry wasp spray or pepper spray when you are on walks by yourself? It wouldn't be a bad idea. I worry about your safety when you are alone.
