Each expansion battery will accept 1000W solar input. So if there is a need to add aditional capacity beyond the 2.6kWh, the solar input will be increased as well.

Will you have a 220v system soon? ( 50 amps?) As others have mentioned, you really need that to run an off grid scenario. A well pump, (obviously important in off grid) and even a mini split a/c - heater would be super convenient. If you can do that I am definitely a customer!

That's a great feature of the Yoshino B4000 Solid State Battery Solar Power Station! If you're looking for a versatile and powerful option, you might also want to consider the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It has a massive capacity, powerful output, and fast recharging capabilities. Plus, it's built tough with a waterproof design. It could be a great addition to your outdoor adventures or as a backup power solution for your home.

Would love to see you hooked this up to your off-grid cabin, and put a nasty good load on it... I'd love to see a good hard field test of this thing

Some Well Pumps need a big surge on start up...if it were a 1/3hp, and but I think most are 220volt for 1/2hp and above... Will Yoshino ever have a larger unit some day, as for 220volt??? Thank you @Minute Man Prep for the content!!! We will be buying a piece of land to build an OFF-grid home soon!!! Liked#36 and subscribed!!!

I really like the Yoshino brand and battery chemistry used. But that 600W solar input is just brutal. Especially when you factor in the 4kW output load. It’s like using a Hydro flask for a fuel cell in a 68 Camaro.

Solid-state or not, it's an NMC battery. I don't know how they're claiming 2,000 cycles to 80% DoD, but I'm most certainly NOT convinced this will be the battery tech of the future. NMC has two different materials (nickel and cobalt) that are either difficult to source or come with pretty serious socio-economic concerns. LFP, and at least two derivates, along with sodium-ion, all have a much more sustainable and conscionable supply chain.

Also watch the Will Prowse video where he repeats the oft-shown safety video of drilling into the battery and seeing nothing happen, so it's "safe".
Then he pulls the bit back out, and nearly has one of his crocs permanenty affixed.

I like this because I am NOT a solar person on my RV. I am always looking at size and height and power for just a one night stay at harvest host. It will be charged by an outlet at next campsite. This looks interesting for one night stay. At this low height of battery even 2 might work. Thanks.

Yeah, the solar input is a deal breaker for me. Going with the Delta Pro Ultra. Maybe Yoshino will fix this in the next version.

Nice video, I have been reading up on the solid state chemistry and it looks promising, however, in this unit, the PV input is lacking in several areas; it needs to be able to accept 100 volts and at least 20 amps to be able to configure solar arrays easily. It is too hard to shoehorn in 600 watts being restricted to 60 volts and/or 10 amps.
Many other companies are going to 100 volts and 10 to 30 amps range, that makes it easy to get to 1000 watts in multiple configurations.
Keep going with new ideas and technology as it adds more options, Thank You!

Is this a feasable workaround for only 600w solar input? Say you have 2000-2500w of solar. Couldn't you use say a 2500 or 3000w inverter and plug the ac fast wall charger into it? Yes inefficiencies but doable?

This might be an entry-level get by situation for my off-grid cabin, the major load being a refrigerator, 4.4 ft. The rest of it would be lighting. I agree that the 5-year warranty is a significant draw.
Once I get comfortable with these power I would probably get the APOLLO.
1:29 when you say "first things first" please start with the price. ... "For $X,000 (MSRP as of [date]) you get..."

What is the temperature charging and discharge range?..... I saw your first video at show got excited about this cuz you told them to increase the MPPT ..... but I guess they don't listen to the market or heavy users like you or Will.... I bought Pecron E2000 plus 3kw battery to get 5KW for $2100 before tax and shipping but it has 1300w solar on E2000 and 400w on extra battery..... would have bought this if MPPT was bigger and price about $2300

If the Yoshino will run a small chest freezer, flatscreen tv & DVD player for 5 days or more, before needing a charge, I might consider getting one.
The cost might be a factor as well.
    5yr warranty is decent.

Only 600 watts solar input? To charge a 2611wh battery powering a 4000 watt inverter? Strange design decisions. It seems like they started out with the case(which does look slick), then decided what they could put into it. MPPT controller must have been last part of the design and that was all they could fit into it. No way for me...

Thanks for the review... The solar charge voltage range is great, but the 600 watt solar limit is way too low. It should be able to charge in approx 2hours. The inability to combine to make 240vac is a huge loss. Additionally, the price point is nowhere near where I would want it to be. I could see a "small premium" for the 4000 watts continuous... but the price per watt-hr is nowhere near the competition. The "advertising" for Solid State Batteries doesn't mean much if the # of cycle in the lifetime can't exceed 3500.

If you clearly listion this guy saying b4000 watt inverter and 2611 and price almost 4200 Canadian dollars , how smart way this company making fool consumers . Go get 4000watt inverter pure shine just 200 to 300 dollars plus lithium 600 and get 2650 watt hour so under 1000 dollars and size and weight lesser

  • @tiborchren

This is a very badly balanced Solar Power Station.
For a 4000 W inverter, it would require at least doubling the battery capacity from 2611 Wh to 5222 Wh and properly increasing the extremely undersized solar input from a miserable 600 W to at least 2500 W. Even if those modifications meant doubling the weight and the wheels underneath, it wouldn't matter.

It's a solar station well its supposed to be but yet another useless wall charger station. Very few companies get that for some reason. Sticking with my pecrons you can charge them via solar. I guess you could add battery's and wait 4 weeks for the sun to charge you up again. It's just beyond stupid at this point.
