    Great overview. Bought the PS2000 & Solar 300W combo today. Was tossing up with Bluetti but in the end wanted to support an Aussie company. Thanks for the discount code. Can put that towards fuel on our Lap of Oz. Safe travels. Cheers.

    Great video, explanation of device was well done, covered all necessary applications & more, I was left with no questions. I've been researching these units from a few differing manufactures for a while and now have settled on this unit. So thanks again, your delivery was easy to watch & easy to digest the info. Loved your video, thank you!! Recently purchased this power station, kept my Kings 65L fridge freezer running for 4 days on a recentcamping trip. An absolute life saver. Was also impressed with the solar panels capabilities of powering this. Can't wait to set this up at my island home in Kavieng, PNG.

    Great video on power stations! If you're an outdoor enthusiast like me, I highly recommend checking out the Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series. It has a massive capacity, powerful output, and fast recharging capabilities. Plus, it's built tough and waterproof. Perfect for camping or as a backup power source at home. Stay powered up and enjoy your outdoor adventures!

    Excellent review Mike and reinforces my decision to buy one. I’m still working out what inputs work best for my various appliances.
    I assume the xt60 port is just for charging things like drones? I’d love to run my Engel fridge off it so the cigarette lighter input is free for my fan but may be wishful thinking

      the xt60 is a common rc hobby stuff plug. the good thing is the power station can deliver 25A. so if you have devices like a diesel heater thats perfect cause sometimes 10A is not enough.

    Vey comprehensive, thank you. Would like to see a follow-up since it's been 8 months. This unit has suddenly become the best value amongst the 2048Wh competition when solar panel is factored in, given that iTech is currently doing a bundle with free 300w panel - all the others around that capacity are 200 or 220 for $600-800ish (and of course come out of China not Aus). Just on the battery capacity though - the iTech website specs page is saying this unit is 2048Wh, not the 1997 mentioned in your vid. Has the spec changed?

    • @OutbackMike

    I picked up the 1300p at Easter this year and love it but really wish it had a Anderson plug to run a fridge off instead of the cig socket. But there’s some issues here and I’m sorry but please take this as constructive criticism. The 2000w is in reference to the power output of the 240 inverter in it. Mines 1300 so it’s a 1300w inverter. These weigh almost the same so it’s a 100ah lithium battery with a 2000w inverter. Charging camera gear etc off the usb’s is the same between both models. Mine has a cig socket charger that dosent plug into the same port as solar, that dosent seem right at all. That solar port takes 22v from the panels, 12v from a cig plug wouldn’t do much which is why it was only 22w. But those solar panels putting 250w into the battery is great. Most air cons are around 1000w so won’t be a issue, heading elements like kettles, toasters and induction cooktops can go up to 2500w so probably won’t work with it. But all that said it was a great review, and a behind the scenes of how you would charge all the camera gear on your trips. Thanks man

    Nice review Mike. I do find it weird when you’ve two cameras but talking to the other one, my preference is that you always talk directly to camera. I wonder what gauge that cable is from the solar panels to the battery, looks about 8 AWG (sorry, cables I buy all seem to follow the American standard). When you charged directly via the 4wd battery wouldn’t you get less charge than when you charged while driving the 4wd? With an older alternator you’d be getting a constant 14.2v or something compared to at rest voltage of 12.6v. Alternators are a great resource, pumping out 110 amps or so only to charge a smallish car battery (diesel). I make use of all those amps by using a 50 amp DC to DC charger to charge a 100amp/hr lead acid battery (it was very cheap). 200w solar panel on the roof goes into the charger too via built in MPPT controller. This just powers our devices and a 3/4hp compressor/15 litre expansion tank to inflate the 4wd/camper tyres and a handy air gun to blow dust out of everything (7m pressure hose). I’d love you to do an episode or more on remote camping electrics. Some great gear out there. Recently found coloured “Anderson” plugs so I have yellow for solar connectors, blue for camper trailer connectors, black for air compressor connectors, green for starter battery to DC to DC charger. Water proof (water resistant) resettable fuses are a game changer for me too. Blowing a fuse in the bush without a spare is no longer a thing. PS. The different coloured Anderson plugs prevent plugging the wrong wires in as different colours are NOT interchangeable.

    Can you use an inverter from your car charge (alternator) and plug into the unit normal AC charging plug to reduce the DC charging time ? 🤔

    • @OutbackMike
      @OutbackMike  6 місяців тому

      I guess you could, you would just be limited by the wattage allowed through the inverter from the car battery.

What an expensive mistake Itech World .

    Hi, ive got the 300w panels amd PS 2000 and Ive been using the controller that came with the solar panel but i see you plug your solar direct into the PS2000 - should i not be using the solar controller panel??

    • @OutbackMike
      @OutbackMike  8 місяців тому +1

      No. I wouldn’t use the controller that came with the panel. It’s a PWM controller and is inferior to the MPPT that’s built in to the pS2000. I assume it’s included with the panel for those that don’t buy the PS2000 and are charging a standalone battery.
      You can test the difference by monitoring input power to the PS2000 via direct connection vs the PWM that came with the panel. You should see a big difference (I haven’t tried it mind you so keen to know what the difference is).

    Can you charge the unit via the alternator while driving?

    • @OutbackMike
      @OutbackMike  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes. I’m guessing you’d get more amps. You would just need good quality (thick) cables going from the car battery terminals (which will be receiving charge from the alternator) to where ever the PS2000 is.
