Hi Anthony! It’s Bruce your buddy from the Marines! I finally left Canada and came back to the U.S.! I’m in South Dakota since last summer and now I am headed to Texas for the winter and who knows after that. Too hot and humid for me in Texas during the summer! Probably settle in Southern Missouri and winter in Texas. Your project looks outstanding as usual! Your work is the best I’ve ever seen! Hope you’re well buddy! God Bless! Semper Fidelis Bruce.
I have to say that I really admire your management style. Having been on both sides of the trades, laborer and owner operator. You stay out of your crews way and give them all the resources for success. I'm guessing this will continue to be a recipe for continued growth and success.
That's the best design for that house. Nice big wide floating steps with plenty of room, perfect. You made me laugh "60°f is too cold for me❄️" In 60°f it's a summers day I wear shorts and t-shirt😆 Great job!
It may it been a year or so since you've heard exactly how great this video is. We'll, it's still great and I just want to reiterate what's been well said by many others. Thank you for all your inspiration and hustle man..😎
Hey Anthony, just wanted to say I love your videos! I’m about to build my own house here in Australia & have learnt so much from your vids!! 👌 Cheers Tony

beautiful work these guys are amazing, what got me is the "60 is freezing to me" lol we just had a 700 yard pour with the local union here in Michigan at 27 degrees. Michigan is not for me
4"x4" at the bottom and 4x4 at the top floating? So the whole step i 8" thick? The final "floating effect gap is 1,5" ? I live in Poland and this kind of sidewalk/drivaways aren't popular at all. But I'm finishing my house right now and I want those floating stairs :) Top job! Hands up.
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete Can you tell what is the max surface dimentions without dilatation (joints) in summer/winter climate conditions? (I realize it's much different in California)
great video. may i ask, what was the gap distance on the rise between steps to create the floating effect? looks around 2 inches. also, how for out does the nose protrude?
Great job Anthony, yr crew are top of the game, let’s see the faces behind the names, Milton, Milton J, Javier etc. Understand if they what to keep on the down low though, their work says enough.
You may have to check the settings on your camera, it looks a little weird. No complains on the quality of the work though. You guys make it look so easy
“Stairs or steps ALWAYS use screws” 💯 they also make duplex screws for less hassle that can be used in most situations without getting in the way. Beautiful work.
I see you still got that guy leaning on the trowel instead of using both of them lol. without a doubt those steps and that entry at night are gonna blow your eyes out-that’s an easy one to visualize. you and your team are master mechanics.
You guys are amazing...such beautiful work...If you are ever interested in a work trip to The Cayman Islands we would love to have you and hey i never gets 60 degrees over here :)
After seeing the next video as well where it’s finished I must say it came out great. Really upscale look to it. And I think $18k for that and the driveway is super reasonable. Even without having to do any of the grading or prep work other than reforming it. Especially for 6 days work. I own a masonry company in Massachusetts and we do a lot of brickwork but we also do exterior concrete like patios and walkways but it’s not our main bread and butter.. and I must say that out here companies charge between 1500-3000 per day for labor only. So being out in California where the cost of living is through the roof, I dont think that’s a bad price at all especially considering how good the quality of work is. Some of the stuff you guys do I wouldn’t even take on although I’m a brick mason first who does some concrete work so my main specialty is not 100 percent concrete. We do alot of chimney and fireplace design. Point being is you guys do great work and I think you could probably even get more for your great skill set in that market. Good for you guys.!
Thanks Eric 👊 that was during covid so I didn't know what was going to happen? So my prices are considerbly higher. Thanks you for your input 💯also thanks for watching.
Super sharp work as always...looks like an A+ crew doing it. No concern of the 3.5" cantilever breaking off with 3000psi concrete and no reinforcement?
@@WestCoastCustomConcrete That's good to know as we have to use 4000 for everything exterior in Iowa/Illinois because of the cold...come to think of it I've put 3.5" cantilevers on residential stoop tops but they're usually over 4" thick. Keep up the outstanding work and thanks for sharing it!
Yep - really nice set of steps. Love the precision you guys achieve. What happens to the wood former underneath each of the cantilevered steps? It's trapped there right? Or is it removed on phase 2 of the pour and the mud in the lower steps gets pushed under the overhang of the step above?
So other than demo and pumping the concrete do you do anything else? Do you know any finishing techniques or is it just your crew that does that stuff. Just asking
Fancy a holiday in Australia? This came out great, looking forward to seeing it with lights and landscaping... I might just have to try and replicate it here!
