the thing with inumaki arm wasn't completely out of nowhere funnily enough - in the scene where Sukuna uses domain expansion, we cut to a couple common people discussing the situation who are cut by malevolent shrine who are talking about how everything should be ok because 'the guy with the megaphone is nearby'. So he was essentially just about on the outside of the shrine when it was used and it just caught out one of his arms (i believe it was a mistranslation saying both of them were cut off)

Infact they even cut short the dialogue of the two girls talking about him with Sukuna's domain interrupting. So I don't blame anime onlys for not knowing about that. In the manga however when that chapter came out I remember alot of people where arguing if he survived Sukuna's domain or not. While in the anime people don't even know he was in Sukuna's domain in the first place.

Don't forget, Cursed Spirits are hidden from normal people, but Transfigured Humans (like what Mahito made) and Cursed Wombs (like Choso or the Brothers from Season 1) are perfectly visible to everyone! I think that's how one of them showed up on the TV.
One could also argue it was just us the viewers who saw it but not the characters in-universe lol regardless it's all anime original so it doesn't matter

They are not dependant by Mahito to keep existing, the change is done already. Over time they will be all killed (because also normal people can see and harm them) but for sure there are still some of them around at the end of the Incident
I started reading the manga a couple episodes from the finale. I got tired of waiting and also I keep getting spoiled on stuff from the manga from videos in my suggested feed and other sources. I just want to be caught up and not have to wait a year or two for the next season. I do find the anime easier to follow though, especially for the fights. The manga is sometimes more confusing on what's going on or who's talking. The end of the Shibuya arc was really confusing for me when I read it in the manga and then it was a little easier to understand in the anime. I'm at around chapter 150 and am enjoying the next arc so far.
Thats always my biggest issue when trying to read manga, i had a hard time with one piece because i just ended up thinking "What just happened" without understanding how manga are usually drawn and my brain just not being able to make sense of it. on the other end im great with tone and meaning when reading words its just visuals that get me @@davidwilliama.7296

This episode basically follows the manga with the hard cut of the incident. The only thing which was added was the scoping of the world and reaction expanding to the public.
When he said 1000 Yuji's he was being pretty literal, remember Sukuna isn't a curse, he's a sorcerer (though the show at times makes distinctions between sorcerers being people aligned with jujutsu society and curse users which are like rogue agents who can use CE and/or have techniques but aren't part of or aligned with the jujutsu society we've been with so far). He lives on in some kind of dormant state in all of his fingers. What faux!geto basically did was convince other sorcerers over the course of a thousand years to essentially seal themselves in the way Sukuna did and he did this with pacts that were rendered null upon him switching bodies. He then pre-planted all of these cursed objects with ancient sorcerers sealed inside them in 1000 people and just now he unsealed them all simultaneously, so now you have 1000 people like Yuji who are basically possessed by ancient curse users in the same way Yuji is.
You guys talked a bit about where they chose to end it, and as a manga reader all I’ll say is that it’s definitely not as clear as some manga can be where this arc ends and the next begins. The stuff that ends this episode and will probably be s3 ep1 and maybe ep2 are a sort intermission, definitely not The Shibuya Incident but also not what comes next. All of this is to say: I don’t think there’s a way they could slice it to make this ending more satisfying without needing a good two or three more episodes, a whole slew of new voice actors, and better working conditions than the animators had.
Wouldn't need that many new VAs, there's only a few new characters to voice for what they could fit into 2 more episodes. I think it's more that getting anywhere into the next arc needs a lot of exposition and it's much easier to just not do it because it's not going to be relevant for 2 years. The Shibuya Incident has ended, there's no reason to push more episodes out.
47:30 - Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc the best arc from an *efficiency standpoint* of packing in a lot: character dynamics of Gojo and Geto, action, a few slice of life moments, character drama, and social ideology. It accomplished a lot with the little time it had. It's what got me more personally invested in JJK more than anything else.

You guys misunderstood about the 1000 year old sorcerers. Brain-kun said that he'd had people ingest cursed objects -these are like Sukuna. They're objects that the consciousness of long dead sorcerers survive in. As Brain-kun has used Idle Transfiguration to alter the hosts' bodies to be able to act as Vessels the sorcerers will now be able to possess the bodies in the same way that Sukuna sometimes can with Yuji. btw, Jacob I do think that with some of your assumptions about what is implied by not being included in the finale you are forgetting that this is a manga adaption. There is no finale in the manga and there are no seasons so if something is not included here it just means it wasn't revealed in the manga yet. Megumi's mother? ...guys....sigh...

For the marking for a thousand years hes only marking people alive today but hes made deals with people from the past and is using the people marked today as vessels for them he explained it this episode but i can get the confusion people today have either A) been turned into vessels for people he made pacts with in the past or B) people like Junpei who have techniques but their brains aren't wired to use those techniques they mention in season 1 its shoko who says the brain is a "blackbox" and they dont fully understand why it allows some to use curse energy and others can't. But fake geto/kamo has been alive for over 1000 years so he probably has the most CE knowledge of anyone maybe tengen is at a similar level but tengen has been maintaing barriers while geto has been living and scheming and experimenting all this time (sorry for long text none of these are spoilers)
You thought that just because Mahito was gone that he'd stop causing problems for the story? Ha. Oh no. It's fitting. He was made from humanity and now his technique was used to create a situation that may very well change the world. Inumaki was shown to be standing near the area by Sukuna. One of the people(before they got hit with his Domain) mentioned that the "guy with the microphone" saved them. So he lost his arm in the process. Gojo is sealed and because of that combined with what just occurred in Shibuya, the Higher Ups want Yuji gone immediately. Because Gojo was the one to finish Geto off, but now Geto is somehow back, they suspect that Geto and Gojo were working together to plot the entire Shibuya Incident. And Gojo is too strong to be controlled by the Higher Ups anyway. So he is to remain sealed. The Principal is thought to be in on it so they're asking for his execution as well. And now, my boy Yuta. We saw back in the movie that Yuta didn't know if fighting Geto was right or wrong. But because Geto hurt his friends, he wanted to kill him. Even if Geto was right, Yuta's personal feelings didn't neccesarily align with what would be seen as just. He just knew that his friends were harmed and he wanted to do anything to get rid of the thing that harmed them. Yuji, or Sukuna, cut off one of his friend's arms. So the solution is simple. Yuta will kill Itadori himself. The last of the 4 special grade sorcerers has returned. As Yuji's executioner.
Fun Fact: When JJK 0 was originally published in shonen jump it was called Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School and it was just a short story. It was received very well which prompted Gege to create Jujutsu Kaisen. Once JJK was being serialized as a manga, Gege changed the name of TMCTS to JJK 0 and tied the characters and story in as a prologue. One of the reasons why Yuta gives off main character energy!
Why don't they go back to the scenes where stuff gets explained and instead try to go off their memory? Geto explained it all, the episode is right there. It takes like 5 seconds to bring up the plan explanation and it would have saved a lot of time and confusion.
It was so good seeing Yuta again and I am looking forward to the next arc although it may be awhile it still sounds like it'll be amazing to see this as you said a previous vs current MC. That should be awesome. This season and some ups and downs, but overall I still enjoyed it and you Bros reactions! I agree the way it was cut seemed really weird and sort of made this episode on its own a bit underwhelming, but I understand why they did it. I still did enjoy this episode though. The text on screen says everything you need to know guys. 1st, He said he marked two types *non-sorcerers* . Vessels for cursed objects and people who already had cursed energy, but didn't know how to use it. 2nd, he said he's being making contract with *sorcerers* and "not just sorcerers" for the past 1000 years. So different from the ones he marked. non-sorcerers =/= sorcerers lol. I get that it's a lot in one episode, but everything is written right there word per word, you don't need to fill in any blanks like you guys are doing like you guys tried. And specially say it wasn't there. Anyways, Hidden Inventory is the best arc by far imo too, yes.
About the cursed spirits Pseudo-Geto unleashed on Tokyo - the catch is, those aren't his own controlled by Cursed Spirit Manipulation. As Pseudo-Geto himself noted, he didn't make pacts to revive only sorcerers which implies that he contracted cursed spirits as well. And when he awoke the vessels and newly created sorcerers with Mahito's technique, he set free the spirits of the past as well. Those which weren't under his command and could wreak havoc as they please. Which is kinda fitting for his plan to create chaos beyond his control.
And here is where the real plot of JJK starts. The notices part is my favorite part of the episode, that part sets up the future arc so well. Be thankful mappa was merciful, bcs they could’ve left it a little bit ahead with one more ep and the cliffhanger would’ve been awful for anime onlys. This season was amazing, the animators killed it, Gege (literally) killed it, and the directors did as well. Can’t wait for whatever comes next. Edit: 42:00 to clarify, Getwo said he has been making pacts with sorcerers and curses for a 1000 years, during this time around, like the last 10 years, he’s been marking non-sorcerers for this reason. He made some ingest cursed objects, the remains of the sorcerers he made pacts with for the last 1000 years, and when he broke the seal, that will make them incarnate (like Sukuna incarnated in Yuji), he marked those non-sorcerers as vessels for those old sorcerers he made pacts with. The10 million curses released were the curses Getwo made a pact with. Hidden Inventory is one of my favorite parts of the manga!
Definitely surprised they didn't get spoiled this season. It has it's ups and downs with being so popular that current chapters become trends and memes which end up spoiling anime only viewers. So it'll be interesting if they can be spoiler free till the next season.
As an anime only, I got spoiled on the biggest recent fight in the manga because while I was in a completely unrelated subreddit, somebody thought it would be funny to post the end of fight panel in response to a "Nah, I'd win." meme. Still salty about that one.

how I saw the whole Gojo accomplice thing is that yes the higher ups are taking advantage of the situation 100% however Gojo isn't perfect either he made a big mistake that caught up to him in this arc. Namely the order the higher ups gave him involving Geto's corpse was to dispose of it however Gojo did not in fact destroy Geto's corpse and that led the brain to get ahold of the corpse and now we are in this situation so all in all I can see the higher ups perspective even tho its flawed although the principal stuff is just pure greed (if u know u know).

It's not clearly explained but I assumed (also from the manga) that Inumaki was in the range of Sukuna's DE and be luckly enough to lose only an arm... that or a random slash from the fight with Mahoraga. But as the people were still talking of the "megaphone guy" when the DE was unleashed... I assume Inumaki was still fine there and then be in the range of Malevolent Shrine when sukuna activated it
"Geto" says he makes pacts with sorcerere from the past, and says he kept things to feed humans to make hundreds of Kinda Yuujis. The ones who are marked are people from the present who are gonna be essentially like Yunpei (This is stated in this episode, but I understand a lot of things happen)
I cant help but see some similarities between the Eclipse and that scene where Fake Geto releases everything, curses got that Berserk low level monster look for sure
Gojo being frozen out seems to anger a lot of people, but it makes perfect sense. Its not only that was he is a trouble maker for the higher ups, but there is also the fact that HE was the one who reported that Geto was dead and taken out of the picture. And yet, the traitor is still alive and well to most people (how many know about the brain jack?). It makes it look like Gojo was working with him and things went sour.
So Geto mark two types of peoples. People like Junpei, who are not sorcerers but granted cursed technique. Then like Yuji who got strength as vessel because the ancient sorcerers from the past that made pact with Fo-Geto would get resurrected with new vessel in modern time. Like Sukuna got resurrected with Yuji as his vessel.
This was actually the best point to end the season. From here on out It's pretty much DBZ levels of non-stop fighting. I'm already hyped to see it animated.
I've gotta be honest, I'm not really a fan of how exactly they decided to end this season, with the Yuji vs curses scene. Most of us manga readers expected to see it ending on Yuta's declaration to kill Yuji. Imagine guys how insane it would be for anime only watchers!
You have to read tha manga for the entire shibuya arc, because there so many dialogue that wasn't included in the anime, which explains a lot of important things.
Not really, the anime actually expanded on a lot and included almost everything from the manga minus some more theatrical lines of narration that wouldn’t have fit.

Shibuya is like if MHA went from Final Exams to the raid on the Paranormal Liberation Front, which is why this arc ultimately falls flat for me. The world and characters are woefully underdeveloped, and the majority of them were unceremoniously discarded in this arc. I cared when the Hero Society fell in MHA. I didn't get a chance to experience what Jujutsu Society was like before this happened and I feel nothing because of that.
Don’t let other sway you guys’ opinion. I didn’t enjoy certain scenes in the Sukana vs Mahoraga fight either. It was underwhelming visually compared to the Choso vs Yuji fight. Same way the Pain vs Naruto fight had that weird animation nobody liked at the end, it’s the same shit with the Sukana vs Mahoraga fight. Honestly the animation had a noticeable dip in episode 14 as well
There's a difference between not liking something, and that something not being of high quality. What they acknowledged in this video was that the fight that they didn't like (which was toji vs megumi and sukuna vs jogo, not the mahoraga fight), was of high quality

If he can come up with something meaningful for her to do and a cool way of her coming back, he will, but if he can't there may be a "pulling the plug" moment for a definitive end for Nobara.

You guys misunderstood about the 1000 year old sorcerers. Brain-kun said that he'd had people ingest cursed objects -these are like Sukuna. They're objects that the consciousness of long dead sorcerers survive in.
As Brain-kun has used Idle Transfiguration to alter the hosts' bodies to be able to act as Vessels the sorcerers will now be able to possess the bodies in the same way that Sukuna sometimes can with Yuji.
btw, Jacob I do think that with some of your assumptions about what is implied by not being included in the finale you are forgetting that this is a manga adaption. There is no finale in the manga and there are no seasons so if something is not included here it just means it wasn't revealed in the manga yet.

For the marking for a thousand years hes only marking people alive today but hes made deals with people from the past and is using the people marked today as vessels for them he explained it this episode but i can get the confusion people today have either A) been turned into vessels for people he made pacts with in the past or B) people like Junpei who have techniques but their brains aren't wired to use those techniques they mention in season 1 its shoko who says the brain is a "blackbox" and they dont fully understand why it allows some to use curse energy and others can't. But fake geto/kamo has been alive for over 1000 years so he probably has the most CE knowledge of anyone maybe tengen is at a similar level but tengen has been maintaing barriers while geto has been living and scheming and experimenting all this time (sorry for long text none of these are spoilers)
You thought that just because Mahito was gone that he'd stop causing problems for the story? Ha. Oh no. It's fitting. He was made from humanity and now his technique was used to create a situation that may very well change the world.
Inumaki was shown to be standing near the area by Sukuna. One of the people(before they got hit with his Domain) mentioned that the "guy with the microphone" saved them. So he lost his arm in the process. Gojo is sealed and because of that combined with what just occurred in Shibuya, the Higher Ups want Yuji gone immediately. Because Gojo was the one to finish Geto off, but now Geto is somehow back, they suspect that Geto and Gojo were working together to plot the entire Shibuya Incident. And Gojo is too strong to be controlled by the Higher Ups anyway. So he is to remain sealed. The Principal is thought to be in on it so they're asking for his execution as well.
And now, my boy Yuta. We saw back in the movie that Yuta didn't know if fighting Geto was right or wrong. But because Geto hurt his friends, he wanted to kill him. Even if Geto was right, Yuta's personal feelings didn't neccesarily align with what would be seen as just. He just knew that his friends were harmed and he wanted to do anything to get rid of the thing that harmed them. Yuji, or Sukuna, cut off one of his friend's arms. So the solution is simple. Yuta will kill Itadori himself. The last of the 4 special grade sorcerers has returned. As Yuji's executioner.
Fun Fact: When JJK 0 was originally published in shonen jump it was called Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School and it was just a short story. It was received very well which prompted Gege to create Jujutsu Kaisen. Once JJK was being serialized as a manga, Gege changed the name of TMCTS to JJK 0 and tied the characters and story in as a prologue. One of the reasons why Yuta gives off main character energy!
Why don't they go back to the scenes where stuff gets explained and instead try to go off their memory?
Geto explained it all, the episode is right there. It takes like 5 seconds to bring up the plan explanation and it would have saved a lot of time and confusion.
It was so good seeing Yuta again and I am looking forward to the next arc although it may be awhile it still sounds like it'll be amazing to see this as you said a previous vs current MC. That should be awesome. This season and some ups and downs, but overall I still enjoyed it and you Bros reactions! I agree the way it was cut seemed really weird and sort of made this episode on its own a bit underwhelming, but I understand why they did it. I still did enjoy this episode though. Really enjoyed your discussion as well for the finale as well!

1st, He said he marked two types *non-sorcerers* . Vessels for cursed objects and people who already had cursed energy, but didn't know how to use it.
2nd, he said he's being making contract with *sorcerers* and "not just sorcerers" for the past 1000 years. So different from the ones he marked. non-sorcerers =/= sorcerers lol.
I get that it's a lot in one episode, but everything is written right there word per word, you don't need to fill in any blanks like you guys are doing like you guys tried. And specially say it wasn't there.

About the cursed spirits Pseudo-Geto unleashed on Tokyo - the catch is, those aren't his own controlled by Cursed Spirit Manipulation. As Pseudo-Geto himself noted, he didn't make pacts to revive only sorcerers which implies that he contracted cursed spirits as well. And when he awoke the vessels and newly created sorcerers with Mahito's technique, he set free the spirits of the past as well. Those which weren't under his command and could wreak havoc as they please. Which is kinda fitting for his plan to create chaos beyond his control.

And here is where the real plot of JJK starts.
The notices part is my favorite part of the episode, that part sets up the future arc so well. Be thankful mappa was merciful, bcs they could’ve left it a little bit ahead with one more ep and the cliffhanger would’ve been awful for anime onlys.
This season was amazing, the animators killed it, Gege (literally) killed it, and the directors did as well. Can’t wait for whatever comes next.
Edit: 42:00 to clarify, Getwo said he has been making pacts with sorcerers and curses for a 1000 years, during this time around, like the last 10 years, he’s been marking non-sorcerers for this reason. He made some ingest cursed objects, the remains of the sorcerers he made pacts with for the last 1000 years, and when he broke the seal, that will make them incarnate (like Sukuna incarnated in Yuji), he marked those non-sorcerers as vessels for those old sorcerers he made pacts with. The10 million curses released were the curses Getwo made a pact with.

This is where the real plot takes a nose dive, it sadly never gets as good as Shibuya again and each chapter that comes out is worse than the last
As a manga reader, the ending here kind of makes a lot of sense.
Definitely surprised they didn't get spoiled this season. It has it's ups and downs with being so popular that current chapters become trends and memes which end up spoiling anime only viewers. So it'll be interesting if they can be spoiler free till the next season.
As an anime only, I got spoiled on the biggest recent fight in the manga because while I was in a completely unrelated subreddit, somebody thought it would be funny to post the end of fight panel in response to a "Nah, I'd win." meme. Still salty about that one.

how I saw the whole Gojo accomplice thing is that yes the higher ups are taking advantage of the situation 100% however Gojo isn't perfect either he made a big mistake that caught up to him in this arc. Namely the order the higher ups gave him involving Geto's corpse was to dispose of it however Gojo did not in fact destroy Geto's corpse and that led the brain to get ahold of the corpse and now we are in this situation so all in all I can see the higher ups perspective even tho its flawed although the principal stuff is just pure greed (if u know u know).

It's not clearly explained but I assumed (also from the manga) that Inumaki was in the range of Sukuna's DE and be luckly enough to lose only an arm... that or a random slash from the fight with Mahoraga. But as the people were still talking of the "megaphone guy" when the DE was unleashed... I assume Inumaki was still fine there and then be in the range of Malevolent Shrine when sukuna activated it
Also, its crazy how strong Yuta actually is. He can just copy techniques incase it wasnt obvious in JJK 0.
"Geto" says he makes pacts with sorcerere from the past, and says he kept things to feed humans to make hundreds of Kinda Yuujis. The ones who are marked are people from the present who are gonna be essentially like Yunpei (This is stated in this episode, but I understand a lot of things happen)
I cant help but see some similarities between the Eclipse and that scene where Fake Geto releases everything, curses got that Berserk low level monster look for sure

Gojo being frozen out seems to anger a lot of people, but it makes perfect sense. Its not only that was he is a trouble maker for the higher ups, but there is also the fact that HE was the one who reported that Geto was dead and taken out of the picture. And yet, the traitor is still alive and well to most people (how many know about the brain jack?). It makes it look like Gojo was working with him and things went sour.
So Geto mark two types of peoples. People like Junpei, who are not sorcerers but granted cursed technique.
Then like Yuji who got strength as vessel because the ancient sorcerers from the past that made pact with Fo-Geto would get resurrected with new vessel in modern time. Like Sukuna got resurrected with Yuji as his vessel.

You have to read tha manga for the entire shibuya arc, because there so many dialogue that wasn't included in the anime, which explains a lot of important things.
Not really, the anime actually expanded on a lot and included almost everything from the manga minus some more theatrical lines of narration that wouldn’t have fit.
Literally cant think of anything the anime would need an improvement on other than nobara vs mahito

Shibuya is like if MHA went from Final Exams to the raid on the Paranormal Liberation Front, which is why this arc ultimately falls flat for me. The world and characters are woefully underdeveloped, and the majority of them were unceremoniously discarded in this arc.
I cared when the Hero Society fell in MHA. I didn't get a chance to experience what Jujutsu Society was like before this happened and I feel nothing because of that.
Don’t let other sway you guys’ opinion. I didn’t enjoy certain scenes in the Sukana vs Mahoraga fight either. It was underwhelming visually compared to the Choso vs Yuji fight.
Same way the Pain vs Naruto fight had that weird animation nobody liked at the end, it’s the same shit with the Sukana vs Mahoraga fight.
Honestly the animation had a noticeable dip in episode 14 as well
There's a difference between not liking something, and that something not being of high quality. What they acknowledged in this video was that the fight that they didn't like (which was toji vs megumi and sukuna vs jogo, not the mahoraga fight), was of high quality

@@BrothaSchwifty then you are doing exactly what the bros have tried not to do, aka pretend like they know how animation works. Episode 17 had the best schedule of all the episodes and had the second best staff after episode 18. It was a complete high quality episode.
You can of course not like it but don't pretend like you know shit about animation by criticizing the people that were impressed by the episode

But there’s also the side of this where a full staff and good scheduling doesn’t automatically equate to a high quality episode or every frame being of high quality
