Justin Fields is a better QB. If the Bears kept Justin Fields and traded down from #1 for a lot of draft picks, they would be in a position to not only make the playoffs but legitimately be Superbowl contenders because of their strength at every position and depth.

The only question mark on the Bears is QB. Every position was addressed and upgraded. It would have been nice to draft an DE earlier but it appears the Bears have enough for this season.

With your point at the 8:28 mark, last year, the Bears went through a very intriguing time when their Defensive coordinator suddenly resigned under the allegations of child pornography in Halas Hall. Well, what percent should be blamed on the QB of an NFL Offense?
The last 8 games of the Season, the Defense played very, very well. The running game was absolutely dominant.
They had their best year from a WR in a decade, and they had 2 competent RBs.
So how much was Justin Fields not being a competent QB?
Just for an example, let's say Lamar was the Beaes QB...
Do they make the Playoffs? And keep in mind that the Bears lost 3 games very late in the 4th quarter in unbelievably bizarre fashion.
They should have swept the Lions, a team that SHOULD HAVE made it to the Super Bowl.
What if the 2023 Beaes have Joe Burrow at QB? Patrick Mahomes? Justin Herbert?
Do you not believe that the Bears easily make the Playoffs in 2023?
Look at how many times that Bears Defense was put in a terrible position exactly because of Justin Fields, whether it was a fumble (many), interception (many), or a 3 and out?
He has to be responsible for A LOT of the issues of the past 3 years.

We didn’t have near the offensive talent to truly compete, at a consistent high-level and the defense was sus for a minute at the beginning of the season played bad when that played notable quarterbacks. Really can’t compare the two, better off comparing Justin starts to Bryce Young’s, the next two year because their working with the same offensive talent.

In fact, he would have had even more talent around him since we would have taken nabers or mhj- and they are superior players. And we would have gotten a vet player too from who ever we traded with.

I love your point of being emotional ready and how confident someone may look when entering the NFL. This is something that NEVER gets talked about and NO ONE can predict.
When these big time, high draft picks come in it always reminds me of Vince Young and Matt Leinart. Both of them have said that they just were not ready mentally for what the NFL life brings. Young had an incredible career at Texas and even won ROY and mentally it went downhill. Leinart even says how hard it was to adjust from USC life to the NFL, where you are a rockstar in college and then you get to the NFL and guys in the locker room do not care who you are.

Coach Flus proved last year that he could keep his team together through adversity and finish the season stronger than they started it.
