This is my very first neighborhood growing up in early childhood. We lived here up until I was 14 years old then we moved to Woodhaven. I used to live on 688 Jamaica Avenue right across the street from Cypress Hills Cemetery.
Thank you so much for making this video, it is wonderful. You walked right past the house where I grew up at 75 Lincoln Avenue, from 1958-1971. I had to pause there. I love how the large trees still line the narrow sidewalks. I went back to visit about 12 years ago, and the very kind current owner of the house invited my daughter, husband and I in. They showed the interior and backyard of the house to us. They had painted the interior walls such beautiful warm colors. They were so kind and happy living there. I used to regularly dream of our house, but after going in to visit, my mind must have been satisfied, and I no longer dream of the house. I do have good thoughts of the house, especially knowing that the people living there are enjoying it. I also enjoy seeing the large apartment building on the corner of Lincoln and Etna, where I walked past every day. My friend’s Aunt lived there, with her family. It was beautiful then and still looks beautiful.
Interesting fact- The Elevated Train between Alabama Avenue and the bend in Cypress Hills (at about 23:19 ) is the oldest remaining elevated track segment in New York City. It dates back to 1893.
@@AfrazExplores What I wrote, you walk slowly and sway as if you have slippers and on tiptoes. Walking usually goes faster, mine is a simple observation, I only comment what I see.

This is such a trip down memory lane. My grandparents' house was on McKinley between Crescent and Autumn! You were so close.

My grandmother lived on Bradford and Jamaica
I grew up on Euclid Ave & went to ps 65 & blessed sacrament
Moved to Cypress hills during covid and lived on sheridan ave. The neighborhood was rough but never felt unsafe and I loved taking night walks.😂
The elevated train line still had its original el support columns that was single lattice steel straps of 1893 as late as the 1960s.
The neighborhood I grew up in 🥹❤️
You crossed over Euclid 😂I was half hoping you would walk by my old home

Be care and act like you are crazy. People are not going to pay any attention to you.
