I was born and raised in ENY. There’s always been prostitution, drugs and high crime. But there were also hard working men and women there. Home owners, business owners and other blue collar people that took care of their families and stood clear of the nonsense. Gentrification has been creeping in the last few years and in another 5 years, the neighborhood won’t look the same.

Thank you for saying this. I too live in a community much like this and the majority of people work and have good family values.
Those who have gotten caught up are always highlighted and makes us all as a collective in these communities look as though the entire neighborhood is wholly bad when in fact, it’s just a small group who make the trouble.

I wish this video showed more of the community and its people. I grew up in this area and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. I walk down those blocks my entire childhood in Brooklyn, and do not miss it because of the high crime and heavy traffic. I do go back every so often for the food and to see family. Brooklyn is not the same when I was growing up as a child due to so many people vacating the area and gentrification.

And they weren't always so scantily dressed. Now they're just out there. I'm a little shocked by that. Wasn't expecting them to be out there in the daytime dressed like that. aspects of living in any urban city, there are "good, hardworking people" in that community. There is lot of history in that part of Brooklyn. Hopefully, gentrification won't destroy ENY's authenticity.

In truth, anyone who caught for soliciting would likely get a very light sentence. But you know how corrupt these fcckkkin cops are - they set up stings like that in order to pad up their arrest quota numbers. This way they can lobby for higher salaries and more overtime to increase their weekly wages (this even though they spend the majority of their time drinking coffee or sipping brandy while playing cards). All too often cops are the shit of life. How else would the Mafia have expanded its drug kingdom so massively if it hadn't been for the corrupt cops that were paid off.

NYC doesnt arrest for that anymore. Cops just let it go on and dont bother with it anymore. Look at Roosevelt Ave in Queens

This is the cleanest nicest looking “hood” I’ve seen.. come down to the wards in New Orleans or the East side of the city.. looks like a war zone in some spots and the streets are tore tf up (I mean the actually pavement has potholes that will make u say a pray &hope u don’t break down to u get across the city line).. I’m sure crime is bad there but it looks pretty normal..

I'm from Brooklyn. That immediate area is not the hood, it's industrial.

This is a backroad / industrial type part of the hood, but yeah, new orleans more hood than ENY if we’re going off of potholes

There are commercial lots there. School bus companies rent it out.
But there is a school about 4 blocks away.
