Hey Aaron, great video. Question, have you ever tried camera tracker in 3D max. I used to use the script AE3D with CS6 and it worked wonders. Now with CC i cant find anything as good and simple as that script. As for camera tracker in 3Dmax, it just doesnt seem to work and the tutorials out there really dont help much.. :(
thanks for the reply LaLamimix, Funny thing you mentioned that as I'm working on another tutorial to answer that very question. I too am using AF and the script AE3D with AFCC and am testing some samples out now. There are some useful tutorials online but it's still an emerging technique. here is a link that might help: ua-cam.com/video/cHrirhbsZzw/v-deo.html
Hey Aaron, i also looked into other methods and came across that Autodesk lets you download Autodesk matchmover of free. I find AE3d to be the better solution but as i said before, it doesn´t work with AE CC (2016-2017). Unless there is something i missed.
What i know is that AE CC is a complete rewrite, so it does come with alot of problems. I did the test runs with matchmover and 3dmax and it works A.O.K. Its a small program and what you export to max is the same as AE3D, with the same setup in Max. Tomorrow i´ll be testing the render from Max to AE CC. I dont think i should have problem with the composition. But seeing is believing. ;)
Good tutorial hey! Just a question please, I use vray instead nvidia so I don't have the nvidia material menu. Which is the vray alternative to the matte/shadow menu you are using toward the end of the video please? thanks!
Hi Aaron: would you be able to do tutorial on how to do perspective match and do import of 3d models on a still background and do full fledged tutorial on how to do shadow on the floor and do HDRI lighting to match the scene. Please contact me I can send you pics of what i mean..please this will be a great help
Hello Milind Raval, Thanks for the comments. I just installed 3DS 2018. Your suggestion sounds great! Once I explore some new updates with 3DS 2018 I'll for sure do another update on this with your suggestions using HDRl Lighting and showcase how they make quick and easy *lol commercials that you often see on TV.
Aaron Czarnecki sounds great...i will eagerly wait to see it in action. Also you can have more visual example of what i meant at www.visualstager.com - a DIY click and drag staging service for realtors to furnish a vacant room space with high end 3d furniture models.
Hello True zumy, Yes, I'm working on another quick tutorial to explain how to do it with video. as for now check out this clip I found very helpful: ua-cam.com/video/cHrirhbsZzw/v-deo.html
I didn't mean to choose horror music whoops... it was the free programs default music and my a new recording. Didn't mean to scare you ha! j/k Future videos are all set without music in bg. Cheers.

Hi, when i create the physical camera, everything in the view nudges and I lose the perspective I had just set up. Any suggestions?
try to not move the camera as it will mess things up. or you will have to nudge the perspective lines again. This is only good for still shots only.
Thanks bro., loved the tutorial
Glad it helped you .
Beautiful tutorial! Lots of techniques i still dont know yet! but no one really uses mental ray :/
Thanks, I'm glad I could help :) just trying to use what was built in without having to download plugins etc...

Why did you choose horror movie music as background audio? It's really very very annoying.
I didn't mean to choose horror music whoops... it was the free programs default music and my a new recording. Didn't mean to scare you ha! j/k Future videos are all set without music in bg. Cheers.
I really liked this background sound, sounded like ambient piano :P
