In case any folk will ask, Death by degrees is the cover image for this video. Don’t know why they didn’t mention it here, but it is a true hidden gem.
It _shoulda_ been an _awesome_ game, but 2 problems _killed_ it. (1) They used one of the 2 control sticks as a _button!_ Plus, there was no (controller) option to use things called BUTTONS instead of "flick the stick". A perfect example of "What where they _thinking?!". (2) The "X-ray damage" animation was an interesting idea, but it was unneeded, & was _very_ badly implemented. It was more _disruptive_ (& immersion breaking) than anything else, & there was no option to turn it _off_ either.
Jet Li's Ps2 game was such an underrated masterpiece. Way ahead of its time. Amazing attention to detail, level design, interactable destructible environments, hand-to-hand combat which one of the best uses of the dualshock 2 controller's system ever, as far as I'm concerned.
The ps2 library cannot be surpassed by any console. I am 37 and the ps2 is not retro for me. For me retro means 8 bit to ps1. Time to time I still game on my ps2. Most recently I completed tomb raider legend.
Urban Chaos Riot Response is such a great game, I thought people knew about it, It has an amazing main menu song which is impossible to find with good quality and you can match the beat of the song by the sfx moving through the menu makes.
I absolutely love Downhill Domination, I grew up watching my cousin playing, got 100% in the game a few years back, and still want to play it again in the future
The 6th console generation will always be the best. Developers weren't afraid to innovate and try something new and different. They also weren't scared of offending anyone. The current console generation is a joke. We're halfway through the lifecycle and there's barely anything worth playing. But Sony thinks a $700 Pro model is needed for some reason.
With so many games, there's bound to be tons that are overlooked. The most tragic ones I know of though are The Red Star, Skygunner, Robotech, and most of all, Fire Blade. Fire Blade is pretty niche, but if you like helicopters, it's the best game ever made.
Glad to see Kill Switch getting its dues for revolutionizing third-person shooters; even more glad that Namco didn’t patent the system like they did with loading screen minigames.
Killswtch is one of my all-time favorite PS2 games!!! The main character could literally cover snap behind anything, piece of wood in the middle of the street, no prob, proper cover. 🤣
I m totally agree with you ! Downhill Domination is One of the must have on The PS2 ! But I want to add Beat Down and Gungrave at this great selection ✨👌
I loved jet li rise to honor. I don't know if they're obscure, but zone of the enders 1 and 2 and dynasty warriors gundam are awesome games as well as oni.
You should definitely give a try to Shinobido Way of the Ninja (The best Ninja game that was ever create it in my opinion) it's really a hidden gem of the PS2 Era, you really feel like a True Ninja when you play this game, no debate whatsoever, in my opinion it's even better than the Tenchu series. ☯️
The Shadow Hearts series and Koudelka because it is in the same story line . I don’t know how many people played it but it wasn’t many but I think it deserves an hd remaster or at least a ps5 port. I know everyone that played Shadow Hearts loved it. It’s a horror Jrpg franchise and I would buy 10 copies if I could. I don’t have that kind of money. They somehow fit some into it and a love story and near incest and some really really great music, memorable characters and a lot of great content. I can not recommend it enough. I might even try to make something similar.
lol i literally clicked with the thought "if these hacks claim Death By Degrees is a hidden gem, I'm unsubscribing." I love Tekken but not every bad game deserves UA-cam rehabilitation. Well played, Cultured Vultures.
Haven't played the Gears series since the final 360 game. Didn't like the new graphics of the Xbone entries. All the artistic style was gone. Everything looks bright and colourful... and the gritty details are missing. That is not Gears.
Jet Li Rise to Honor! Rahhh!!! I put so many hours into that game as a kid 😂 just beating the shit out of people. It’s a lot of fun and I hope it gets more love.
Hm, I dont find any of these interesting. Maybe the Jet Lee one. But Im pretty sure there must be much better PS2 games. One I highly recommend is the brilliant Tearring Saga Berwick Saga. Maybe the best game of this genre ever to be produced. And it's not that well known.
IS THAT TRUE!!!! CAN YOU REALLY PLAY AS A ROAST DUCK IF YOU BEAT ”RISE TO HONOR "!! I MUST KNOW BECAUSE IF SO IM GETTING THAT GAME THATS HILARIOUS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

no it isn't
Complete Banger start to finish don't lie on your resumes.
Thanks
I thought it was strange that the art was used, but not on the list. The game sucked, though.

Urban Reign is to this day the greatest 3D beatemup
Yea, I still own a copy. But, it does get repetitive quickly.
Played downhill Domination non stop back in the day. Still play it now
I've been flat out watching your videos since I found them the other day. You include genuinely obscure stuff. Keep it up bird
The ps2 library cannot be surpassed by any console. I am 37 and the ps2 is not retro for me. For me retro means 8 bit to ps1. Time to time I still game on my ps2. Most recently I completed tomb raider legend.
I'm 40 myself. My "retro" is all pre-ps1.
@@kcb1784 yes👍
Not even PS1 is retro. "Retro age" ca 1975-1995. "Digital age" ca 1995-2012.
Love a bit of Tomb Raider Legend!
ps2 is retro, ps3 is very old, ps4 is a DECADE old, you're old. Games you played will be in museums soon
Urban Chaos Riot Response is such a great game, I thought people knew about it, It has an amazing main menu song which is impossible to find with good quality and you can match the beat of the song by the sfx moving through the menu makes.
Downhill Domination! Yessss. It's like Tony Hawk crossed with Road Rash!!
I absolutely love Downhill Domination, I grew up watching my cousin playing, got 100% in the game a few years back, and still want to play it again in the future
By "well over 1000" we mean yes, well over, as in more like 4000
🤓
Ribbit King. I’ve never heard anyone on any platform mention this game
That a joke?
I liked Dead to Rights.... it was cool for its time.... I would still play it now
For me it has to be Kessen 3 I play that game on ps2 to this day!
Ah, Gitaroo Man. A gentleman of culture, I see. 😎
I found Jet Li at a thrift store for 5 dollars.
"well over -1000 total games- *_4,000 total games_* deep"
Fixed :)

State of Emergency. Everyone seemed to hate that game but I loved it.

Freekstyle, Run Like Hell, Metal Arms

Most of them are too brown and grey for my taste, something that was way to present on the ps3.
Retro Rebound recently did a video on buying ps2 games today. He loves Urban Reign as well
I put Downhill Domination in my top 30 racing games of all time. Such a banger.
Ps2 will forever be king.
Killswtch is one of my all-time favorite PS2 games!!! The main character could literally cover snap behind anything, piece of wood in the middle of the street, no prob, proper cover. 🤣
Those of us who remember Urben Reign know the frustration of mission 86

Love ZOE! Not gonna lie, a lot of it has to do with the MGS2 demo haha
Great list, thank you.
Im still trying to play my backlog of ps2 games lol
Urban chaos riot response also had great online multiplayer, i still play it from time to time through Insignia
Trust if you’re in the scene getting up you know exactly what the game is going to be about 🔥👀

God Hand is one of the GREATEST and overlooked PS2 games of all time.
Mentioned it a lot here!

No , Urban Reign doesn't get boring on mission 75 ... LOL it NEVER gets boring
lol i literally clicked with the thought "if these hacks claim Death By Degrees is a hidden gem, I'm unsubscribing." I love Tekken but not every bad game deserves UA-cam rehabilitation. Well played, Cultured Vultures.
I really like Death By Degrees, it’s almost like a survival horror game at times.
Game at 00:33?
Chaos Legion my beloved
@CulturedVultures oh my I just searched up the cover art and that gave me so many memories
god hand the most underrated game ever
What a wild game. I still own a copy.
Haven't played the Gears series since the final 360 game. Didn't like the new graphics of the Xbone entries. All the artistic style was gone. Everything looks bright and colourful... and the gritty details are missing. That is not Gears.
The video had a lot of „brawlers“ and sry but the ps2 had a lot more games that are bangers that are no Mainstream….
What game is at 13:19
The Bouncer. Sad that nobody answered you after more than 2 weeks 🤝
Only one of these I played was Rise to Honor, but I gotta disagree; I got too frustrated and tired of it that I gave up before beating it.
Bouncer was pretty good
Dude I had a demo disc with gitaroo man on it and me and my buddy played the shit out of it beating it on the hardest difficulty it was awesome!
Stop this madman😂 a classic song good one
U gotta make a hidden psvita gems
Huzzah! Some more Ps2 gold! Any suggestions are good suggestions for this beautiful machine
Jet Li Rise to Honor! Rahhh!!! I put so many hours into that game as a kid 😂 just beating the shit out of people. It’s a lot of fun and I hope it gets more love.
Dead to rights is Difficult asf on Xbox because its the original version with no Difficulty setting
Culture Vultures PS2 time
its not very forgotten but ghost in the shell stand alone complex is a amazing game that deserves more popularity
Chaos Legion - 0:32
I thought Black very good

Hot Shots Golf
Ghost hunters main character looks like Theo von lol

Did anyone play the thing on ps2? Adaptation of John carpenter's film? It was decent.
We mentioned it not long ago and then a remaster got announced...warlocks
The remake is coming out soon
@@tougeruzbay of course it is...
All out of fresh ideas.
@@lifespanofafry1534you said it.
I play all those games back then but i remember other moron players always play trashy games.
You talk like the 7th doctor
ONI , gameplay like Fighting force and i don't know why no one talk about this game, kinda forgotten.
cuz it's mediocre
Because it's terrible. The control scheme doesn't make any sense.
