Nice tutorial ! :) But after i use the effect ''twist' there are gaps between the red and white lines :/

I just put a same size circle below the main twisted shape using the light (white-cream) color of the candy. It worked. Notice you do not place it over the gradient style that offered the 3D sensation on the artwork.

Dansky thanks for the tutorials. When i do what you do in this tutorial, there are a lot of anomalies. When i zoom and look at it closely, i see some gaps and not so smooth lines. Object doesn't work as it should. It is because of the twirl effect i think. Do you have solution for this?

Looks a bit like it's actually a hole in the surface in the thumbnail, because there is a shadow all around it but no drop shadow on the background or highlight at the side. :D But great video!
