- One of the most improved designs in my personal opinion; Dee Jay is here from Street Fighter 4 and looks absolutely amazing. The mixture of Kickboxing and his new music based attacks is perfect. Dee Jay is easily one of my favorite character designs moving into Street Fighter 6!

He always looked black to me. Remember he was modeled after billy blanks. And they didn’t make him as racist a caricature compared to balrog post sf2.

yea, fighting game combos feel a lot more like rhythm games more than most ppl think, this just makes it more obvious in the coolest way possible
Its kind of similar to Monster Hunter with the sword and shield where the most damaging attacks had a certain timing and rythmn

The people who made the redesign and the change on his moveset deserve a raise and a promotion, not only he looks so fucking cool now, but his rythm based moveset looks like super fucking fun.

The rhythm minigame super is a great idea, it goes with his design really well and adds a bit of complexity.
Plus his new design is great, I like fighting game characters who look like they’re having fun.

Man, all the redesigns are awesome. They took iconic video game characters, overhauled their look, and every single one looks better than ever. Not just their look but movesets as well, I love it

DeeJay was never forgettable in my opinion, he always had an unique design and yes he deserved a big buff for a long time.
I remember Dee Jay from Super SF 2. He goes back farther than SF4.

Deejay is the best looking character in sf6 the proportions are incredible
I appreciate the fact that he's muscular but not lean like a bodybuilder in terms of his physique, but more realistic than a lot of idealised character designs.
Fits his personality as a bit of a party animal while still looking strong and athletic.

It isn't pandering because it not choosing one group of people to market it too but a whole variety since anyone can play it. The same with tekkan, and mortal kombat.

All of these designs have been back to back fire. DeeJay arguably having the best glow up of them all. Not to mention to spray paint aesthetic helps in really making his personality pop

He even says "MAXIMUM" Now (wich is soo cool) in the game but now he says it while the word maximum is no longer on his clothes?! AND THATS BETTER?!?
And the flat top with the two long tails was dope!! Deejay is the only character i can think of with that haircut (minus billy blanks in that kickboxing movie who deejay was modeld after).
They kept NOTHING from the old look. Like nothing at all and told us hes the same guy.
Thats like taking guile, removing his flat top and replacing it with a bald head and taking his amareican flag tatoos and replacing the tatoos with morotcycle and claiming hes the same guy.
They didnt change just a few things. they changed every single aspect about his looks.
There has to be something visually that connects the old deejay to the new one.

Dee Jay's original design was based on the character Khan from the movie *King of the Kickboxers* , played by Tae Bo master Billy Blanks.
Bro went from being a playable background NPC, to "yeah I'm from Jamaica, how can you tell?"

Sf6 is the fresh air the franchise needed from a long time.

I've got two Jamaican friends and you don't sound Jamaican at all. Are you like "born in Jamaica, raised elsewhere"? Their English usually has a beautiful and very distinctive accent.
His old design was meant to reference Billy Blanks and i like that idea but his redesign is just an improvement.
My boy looks so stylish, and he appears to having a lot of fun hehe
I was never into Dee Jay when playing SF games growing up since SF2, although I've certainly tried him out for fun, but his SF6 design is both dope and his moveset very interesting as his game relies on feints and fake-outs which appeals to me a lot since predicting opponents' moves and instigating such means I'll surely be labbing him in this game.

I still remember every time I would play Street Fighter, I would always call my dad while pointing at dee jay and saying "look, look, daddy is a fighter" and my mom would come looking at the dee jay character I was pointing at. When my mother understood what I meant, she would smile and say "yes, dear father, a fighter... a strong fighter 💪😎👍" I also still remember after my mother said that, I just realized that my father had heard and seen all of them from the beginning smiling 😄, I also smiled at that time.
Then after that, me and my dad will play Street Fighter together with cookies🍪 and a milkshake made by my mom, and yeah..... When I see dee jay's new design I feel like I'm looking at my dad.

My biggest issue with Deejay was that he always looked like an escaped convict with those orange pants, now he finally looks like, y'know, a DJ

I've always loved kicking ass and to the beat of the song, whether it's in the game or on a speaker in my room, I'm so glad they have a mechanic it makes this an actual thing I've been waiting for a game to do this
That part where you gotta hit buttons to the beat like Hi-Fi rush sounds SUPER fun

old Dee Jay's face was always oddly terrifying especially in SFIV. SF6 gets a win for me just for making him look human, like his smile looks genuine now- and the rest of the new look is great too, but the face upgrade adds a lot to his classic outfit as well.

My favorite thing about DJ is that body oddy oddy.
That last part about Dee Jay encouraging you to do moves on the beat for more damage, just sold me into maining this character for the first time in a long time. The crazy part is that almost all of the characters that will be in the release roster interest me a lot. Can't wait for SF6 to be released!
His life of the party persona and unique gimmicks make him one of my favorite characters
didn't realize his followups were based on delay timing rather than just which button is pressed. sounds like it'll be fun to learn and play around with and is a really smart way to fairly incorporate a fast overhead into a character's kit

I think it’s badass that to use him to the max potential you basically have to play a whole rhythm game in the middle of a fight. Fighting games as a whole can “kinda” be rhythm games in that you have to time up specific buttons and stick movements for attacks but he brings music to that, completing the pairing of timing and a beat
Yo, I love this character! This not only looks like a cool and fun redesign, but also an incredibly interesting moveset!
They gave Dee Jay that nice ass Adonis belt. Love when guys have a little bit of weight, but are still toned in the right areas. One thing you can count on is that Street Fighter designers make attractive characters, even if they might be a bit boring, wacky, or low tier.
