4:54 Oh god, That makes me feel even *WORSE* for Oxide, He didn't even *DO* anything in this timeline. This pair of blue twins show up, Hi-jack your ship, flirt in front of you, Your racing kart gets stolen, You get a (In the words of the game: Messy) divorce, You end up getting addicted to an energy drink. And you're just left wondering what you did to deserve this. Edited addition: 6:13 Does that mean that if you take Oxide into the final race, Oxide's just having a mental breakdown and hallucinating a copy of himself? Imagine if the characters are about to race for the Earth, Only for Oxide to say they've beat him and that he's leaving. Leaving everyone absolutely baffled as to what he's talking about.
I think that for Crash 1, the timeline is based on the fact that the 100% ending is the one that happens just before the Any% ending. You save Twana in the 100% ending, then Crash comes back to fight Cortex with the burning castle, and in the end, it's Twana who comes to congrats us in consequence of saving her in the 100% ending. You save Twana and then you fight Cortex to get rid of him, that's how I see the timeline here! But it's a great video, as always! 😊
Crash Boom Bang follows the manga continuity. If you didn't know, in Japan, the Crash Bandicoot manga was the canon for the games. This is why Tawna is with Pinstripe as that is what happened in the manga. Dimps, the developers, were Japanese and used that as a template for Boom Bang's story. Too be frank, Japanese Crash has his own separate canon which ends with Boom Bang. The Titan games were never released in Japan with the last mainline game to release there being Crash Twinsanity which was localized as "Crash Bandicoot 5". Wrath of Cortex had similar localization as "Crash Bandicoot 4". Lastly, "It's about time" straight up says its not canon in the ending. Joke or not, that says soft-reboot where nothing will make sense.
Is that really the manga continuity if Crash 2 released in Japan with the Tawna/Pinstripe stuff in the manual in the same month? And was there much of Tawna/Pinstripe in Boom Bang other than Tawna's character description?
Honestly, irrespective of what or how certain characters react to the screening of other ones (i.e. Crash 4 with Oxide, or Nina with Tag Team), I'd still like to consider that every game in some way has taken place within its release year. Despite most of the PS2 era being rushed to a degree, all the dev teams still found a way to fit each game with their own time, year placement, and with what was "cool" during those time periods. A neat little hint for that would be Coco's discussion about Cortex having a blog in Mind Over Mutant. It's a silly thing on my part, but I do find it good to have each game be in its own timeline like this, since the only explanation would effectively be a multiverse or other timelines where the other games have happened, which could align with my part, to say the least. Yes, I also consider Crash 4's placement to be in 2020, irrespective of Cortex and crew breaking out of their time prison :p If most of the games have a neat hint at their year placement, there's no reason to suggest that Crash 4's wouldn't be the same in some capacity. Additionally, Oxide being in Crash 4 could also just be a hint at the year placement for Bermugula's Orbit, effectively confirming the psuedo-alliance N.Tropy has with Oxide, but without meeting the crew just yet... making it seem like that dimension's "???" could be somewhere just before Crash Team Racing. Overall, great outlook, Riko.
I was just thinking the other day about how Dingo's retirement would be a weird problem to address if Wrath does indeed follow on directly from 4. Personally, what with all the different kinda games he's had and the fact that alternate dimensions are a thing, I just see it as being one big Crash multiverse. If anything can explain Crunch being Mr. T, it's the multiverse.
I mean, would Dingodile really forever no longer be seen as a villain in the franchise again like he had been for most of its history? IDK, just something I think about in one of Crash's classic villains or even Cortex just being locked to the good side in absolute perpetuity just because of Crash 4.
I've seen an interesting but weird idea that Titans DS is actually a prequel to Titans Console because you get a proper tutorial about jacking enemies as a new power. In Titans Console, Crash can sort of just use that power and it's never even commented on. Would be kinda weird if Cortex decided to build two big robots that look like him right after another. Not to mention the similar Nina storylines. Also Titans DS has that fantastic 100% ending which implies that Nina just wins and everybody else dies and I love it. If you were to try and fit every single game into one timeline though, the order of games (except for Titans -> MOM) seems very flexible since they're all standalone adventure with little relation to when the other ones should take place. Cortex has a CTTR line where he says "I made shoes out of Dingodile" so I guess he can't show up after that game any more. In my mind Bash always worked as a scuffed MOM sequel since Cortex and Brio were kinda on the same side again and you could have a definitive ending where one side truly wins - depending on what the player prefers. Wanted to say another thing but I forgot what lol
4:04 I think Coco's tapes are after Crash 1 as Castle Cortex looks more destroyed with less walls then Crash's tape (from Crash commiting arson in the first game) and how Crash 1 takes place over the course of like 3 or 2 days and there are way more days left before the end of September)
I think in terms of the timeline splitting after Crash 3, the Wrath of Cortex timelines take place after the Any % endings, and the Crash 4 timeline takes place after the 100% ending.
Fantastic video! You summed up everything nearly perfectly. My only disagreement is that I do believe the VV games are in the main continuity, between Twinsanity and Tag Team Racing, for two reasons. 1. I love the concept Cortex got the inspiration to shrink the Earth after having been shrunk into Crash's brain at the end of Twinsanity. Just a fun, albeit unintentional parallel. 2. Uka Uka continues to get more fed up with Cortex, so much so he actually replaced him in N-Tranced. Aside from helping Team Cortex in Nitro Kart, he seems to have gone off on his own, discovering the powers of Mojo by Titans. Once again, Uka Uka is fed up with Cortex and flat out replaces him with Nina in Titans, and this constantness of being replaced is what causes Cortex to turn on Uka Uka in Mind Over Mutant. I feel that adding the VV games gives a greater buildup to the ultimate payoff. As for Cunch's disappearance in Huge Adventure, yeah, I just accept it as a plothole, either way you slice it. And yes, I am one to take this lore a bit too seriously sometimes lol
Dingodile retiring from villany in Crash 4 and being chosen to be part of Aku Aku's team in Crash Bash oddly fits, also the CTR epilogue also has him retire in his own business for a while.
The chronological order of the entire good-natured crash bandicoot saga series: crash bandicoot, crash bandicoot 2, crash bandicoot 3, crash x99, crash bandicoot: team racing, crash bash, crash bandicoot: the wrath of cortex, crash: twinsanity, crash purple, crash bandicoot: the huge adventure, crash: n-tranced,. Crash apocalypse, crash bandicoot: psyched out, Crash nitro kart, crash nitro kart 2d, crash tag team racing, crash nitro kart 3d, crash boom bang, crash of the titans, crash mind over mutant, crash bandicoot mutant island,.
I can't think up a more cohesive timeline for Crash than this! The thing that bugs me though is that at the end of Crash 4, future Crash causes the error in the Cortex Vortex (accidentally) leading to past Crash coming out of it without being brainwashed, meaning that without future Crash, none of the events in the Crash games would ever happen because Crash would just be another minion of Cortex. Aside from being a time paradox that hurts my brain, it means that in the alternate timeline that leads into the 2000s games (instead of Crash 4) there would be nothing that caused the Cortex Vortex to fail, meaning that Crash shouldn't exist in those games. There are 2 reasons I think this could happen: A. The alternate timelines exist as other dimensions, therefore, if Crash is following the Crash 1 to Crash MoM timeline for example, it would be Crash from the future *AND* from another dimension that caused the Cortex Vortex failure B. The Cortex Vortex was destined to fail even without future Crash's "help" I think A is more likely due to the whole situation with Crash OTW confirming that all the timelines exist, but I'm gonna stop rambling now.
Totally agree on that take, and that was always my personal take on Crash's timeline, before and now after Crash 4's release, which I updated and added that split after Crash 3, except for one thing: I would still place Huge Adventure, N. Tranced and CNK as part of the same timeline as Twinsanity, CTTR, Titans and MoM I like the idea of all the 3 racing games taking place at the same timeline, silly reason, but I also don't mind the Crunch thing, for me, he was not in the Huge Adventure just because it was not important for him to be on the plot, just like in Twinsanity that he only makes a cameo on the first boss fight with a cake, thinking that it was really a party for Crash, and then don't appear in the plot ever again in that game, even Coco appears more, just to be frozen by Cortex (even if it makes more sense for him to be part of Huge Adventure since it was a thing in the entire world, as for Twinsanity not every character knew about the Evil Twins), but still... Probably there could be new games for the Crash 4 split, since it's the newest take on the series, and probably the one they'll go now on, taking place after Crash 4 (or CTRumble), and before On the Run, and On the Run will connect to the last game released for that timeline (And I don't think they'll continue that timeline where all the universes connect made by On the Run, I think it's a one time thing) but I like On the Run being Crash's BOTW, I think it's funny I also think On the Run being a crossover between the entire Crash Timeline may also include the Spinoffs, maybe? Like a mix from EVERYTHING in the Series
I know crash lore but the only thing I hate about it is when TWOC and Crash 4 timelines start because they’re basically both crash 4 but TWOC is like Crash Bandicoot 3 1/2
You won’t respond bc it’s 1 years later but twoc is what happens if cortex and uka uka aren’t sent to the time prison if we don’t get the gems they are still alive they eventually recover and causes twoc then huge adventure then n tranced then nitro kart then after twoc then twinsanity then tag team racing then titans then mind over mutant honestly I don’t consider ctr and bash or rumble cannon
Not sure If anyone has mentioned this, but you didn't mention the fact that spyro appears in twinsanity, which could technically tie in with crash purples existance
I honestly just dismissed that part as a throwaway joke, but since I didn’t do the same with Titans Tiny referencing CTTR, that’s a completely fair point.
06:31 actually it IS still the "REAL" Crash Bandicoot 4 at least in Japan and also before Crash 4 it's about time release most of us agreed to call it Crash 4 but personally i said Crash Bandicoot 4 (2001) for Wrath of Cortex and Crash Bandicoot 4 (2020) for it's about time (and it was also my first Crash Bandicoot game)
If by “most of us” you mean people in Japan, that’s perfectly fair, but I barely, if ever, heard anyone outside of Japan ever call TWoC Crash 4. That part of the video was mainly supposed to be a jab at people who disown Crash 4 solely on the principle of suddenly putting TWoC on a pedestal, but at the end of the day, it was also just supposed to be a lighthearted joke. 😅
the canonicity of tag team racing doesn’t really matter anyway because literally nothing happens. it’s just the crash characters bumming around in an amusement park for a day, haha. the filler episode of crash bandicoot
The crash bandicoot 1 100% ending isnt canon but it might be canon to the mangas since it was explained in the ending ripper roo educated himself and wrote a book called "Through the eye of the vortex : a study of rapid evoulution and its concequences" which might be a book written in the library he is in the crash 2 boss fight also the library he is in might also be were his crash bandicoot 1 boss fight was because we also see a waterfall. He could be in native fortress but ita more likely its his boss fight and you might be asking how he got back up? Well he has a double jump that jumps him very high so it could be that and it probably is that Crash Lore explained : In ancient times to twin brothers were born aku aku and his brother uka uka they where both very great leaders they lived on the first island in the game , but when age got the best of them they both did a magic spell to get they're soul into the mask they wore like for papu papu it is gonna be the mask he wears , anyways they kept helping and protecting the village as immortal masks but uka uka wanted to betray his brother and wanted to plant a tree to do a spell The reason is unclear but its either n tropy going back in time to them and manipulating uka uka and telling him how strong he will be or maybe he was jealous but anyways then aku aku prisoned him into the prison he was in crash 3 Many centuries later we arent sure but well guess the year was 1960-1970 cortex was born and he was a nerd and cared alot about science unlike his family members who were clowns in a circus and the n on his head is for nerd , decades later he found n brio and both graduated from the academy of evil and they travelled around the world , n brio believed cortex was the smartest because cortex beat him intillectualy once and other scientists thought they were idiots and they're dreams never would come true. Neo and brio went to the wumpa islands , built a 50 killomrter tall tower and mutated animals to make they're army when aku aku learned of this he probably spread his power along the 3 islands hoping some animal will help him defeat evil.
This was a great overview and a very fun video! One thing that always confused me a bit timeline wise was Coco's age. Certain games during the PS2 era like Nitro Kart and especially M.O.M./C.O.T.T. seem to portray her older than how she was in the original trilogy (same with Nina tbh), but her design in Crash 4 is more in line with that of the original trilogy despite taking place about 20 years later (they even use the same model in the flashback tapes), despite showing that characters like Tropy and Cortex did age. On another note, unless I missed something, there is like, no reference to Tiny whatsoever in Crash 4, and no indication that he exists. In the past I've wondered if the Crash 4 canon considers Tiny to be dead after Crash defeated him in Warped, though that may be me looking too much into it.
I think Crash operates on a floating timeline where the characters age as necessary. Trying to make sense of the passage of years is too messy otherwise. I think Tiny just didn’t show up in 4 because enough other characters were already in focus. I’d be shocked if he never appeared again.
Cortex and N. Tropy just came back to where they left off because time travel, Crash/Coco didn't age like Cortex/Tropy did. I don't get how Tiny would be anymore left for dead seeming than any of the other bosses. N. Tropy seemed dead at the end of his boss fight and Cortex's comments about the Time Twister no longer having stability, but there he was in the ending. Tiny also makes a cameo on a paining in a Cortex Castle level.
Bash could easily take place between CTR & WOC considering both in WOC & Ntranced the Hyperspace temple location exists when it debuted in Bash. Plus in the CTR credits Dingodile found an animal breeding program for the creation of unique & interesting pets which was probably the cause of Rilla Roo's existence. Also the explanation of what Crash & Cortex were up to in the CTR credits is shown in Bash's story intro where both of them got Warped by the masks.
3:28 It's possible that Crash 4's Dingodile has already experienced the rest of the timeline, including On the Run, and was sent back to the Mosquito Marsh during the events of On the Run and decided to retire then.
I like to believe that the Dingodile in Crash 4 is the “standard dimension” Dingodile, but considering they never confirm or deny it I suppose this is possible.
Crash Team Rumble fits somewhere after the Crash Team Racing timeline because one hint in the game states that crash has had his license revoked since Crash Team Racing
thank you algorithim for allowing me to find you, finally a speedrunner of one of my favourite serieses who shares the same amount of love for twinsanity as much as i do
Crash Bandicoot tree of continuity. Remarkable that despite reaching into the most obscure areas of the Crash series for the extended CTR Nitro Fueled roster The Evil Twins, who were the main antagonists of Twinsanity weren't included by Beenox.
This was really interesting. Although I believe CTRumble Is a in universe game. I believe this due to some lines on the loading screen suggesting that Crash team rumble is a in universe game developed by coco thus explaining Coco's quantum attacks, why the game references older games and why multiple of the same character can be on screen at the same time.
@@TomTheyy No shit, I meant that would explain why characters that should be stuck in a different time/dimension (i.e. Cortex and the N tropys ) are playing in a funny wumpa sport. While yes Catbat is probably real (due to his origin) we still have proof it's a in universe game. Like I said, the loading screens outright hinting that Coco made the game. But one of them specifically said a.t.l.o. "Was Coco playing Crash team rumble at the end of Crash 4?" Basically confirming two mysteries.
The split in crash 3 to twoc and crash 4 could be two diferents situations like: 1. Crash defeats cortex and gets the cristals and gems but wasnt the 105% them twoc cames after, and when the 105% occurs the crash 4 enters into place.
Hi! I recently found your channel and was very stoked seeing a former crash bandicoot enjoyer. I wanted to ask where did you get your wrath of cortex “loading” t-shirt?
I'd like to think that twoc and crash 4 are just dependent on the completion. if you beat crash bandicoot 3 100 percent, obviously crash 4 is the 100 percent sequel. if you just beat crash 3 normally, crash wrath of cortex follows up perfectly, as you could argue this is the "chance to triumph" uka uka said in the normal ending from crash 3 (even though he did mention the gems)
@@scantyer How is it "literally" the intention? Games coming after Warped's any % ending makes no sense, you're just stopping in the middle of Warped's story at that point. The only Crash games with divergent endings are Crash 1, Crash Bash, Crash Nitro Kart and Crash of the Titans DS.
@@TomTheyy youre not stopping at the middle of the story lmao. More like 80% of it. Also calling a slightly different cutscene a "story" is very funny. The crash 3 100% ending is an Easter egg, most players didn't see it. It's perfectly fine to have continued the story after the regular ending
@@scantyer Just because it's the path less travelled by players doesn't mean it's an Easter egg, or not a story? If it was something like Crash 1's 100% ending or non-canonical epilogues, maybe I could see your point. Why do both the Bandicoots and Uka-Uka and Cortex just stop looking for the Gems until another game happens? That answer's in the ending, but removing it just raises further questions.
I was going to play these ps2 crash games on an emulator damonps2 I have crash bandicoot the wrath of cortex and crash twinsanity great video by the way
Originally, the 100% ending of the first Crash Bandicoot would have its importance in a discarded animation if we completed the game normally Cortex would activate the self-destruct of the airship and then show a screen written The End? Every Crash Bandicoot fan has seen this animation when David Siller, creator of the character, uploaded it to his UA-cam channel at the time.
XS can't be after Warped because the space station is still intact. This means XS is instead of Warped, in the timeline where Crash didn't get enough gems for N.Brios cannon in Crash2. Also in both games Uka Uka was giving Cortex a last chance, which he made true after XS. Why should he do that twice? I guess Wrath of Cortex might have happened after Warped but without the destruction of the time twister. But for some reason they didn't use it again. And Crunch in N.Tranced..? Well, I guess there's an untold story which went parallel to Wrath of Cortex.
What’s the song around 2:15? I’ve heard it before, I’m pretty sure it’s a mobile game (update: I’m sorry a hat in time fans, I played the game like 2 years ago I thought it was the Nomnom game by bad lmfao) Also great video btw!
It's not possible to connect the timeline of every game because Crash 1 to 4 Crash WOC to Tag team racing Crash titans and mutant Etc every univers is different The story is never ending, it'll always be a silly and fun game about good guys beating bad guys and then *REBOOT* Kind of like looney tunes
I think the order is the N saine trilogy first, but only the second game can be done at 100%. Afterwards comes CTR, then Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity. Titans and Mutants occurs in an alternate universe so you don’t have to play them if you don’t want to, but if you do then I’d suggest getting 100% in Crash Bandicoot 1. After Twinsanity get 100% in Warped, by then Cortex would have found a way out of Crash’s head, and the bandicoots would have collected all of the gems and crystals. After the Time Twister machine is destroyed and Cortex, Tropy, and Uka Uka get sent to the past then you can finish things off by playing It’s About Time. Personally I think the other Tawna and N. Tropy come from the universe where 100% CB1, CotT, and MoM take place.
I think Crash 4 to CTRumble comes directly after Crash Warped, before again branching off into CTRacing, and keeping the rest of the timeline the same as you made it.
Assuming all take place in the same timeline: 1 - Crash Bandicoot 2 - Cortex Strikes Back 3 - Warped 4 - It's About Time 5 - Nitro Kart / Nitro Fueled 6 - Crash Bash 7 - Crash Team Rumble 8 - Wrath of Cortex 9 - Twinsanity 10 - Tag Team Racing 11 - Huge Adventure 12 - N-Tranced 13 - Nitro Kart 14 - Crash of the Titans 15 - Mind over Mutant
I think another way all of the games could be canon would be if you follow this order: Crash Bandicoot -> Crash Bandicoot 2 -> Crash Bandicoot 3-> Crash Bandicoot 4 -> CTR -> Crash Bash (good ending) -> The Wrath of Cortex -> Twinsanity -> The Huge Adventure -> N. Tranced -> Nitro Kart -> Ripto's Rampage -> CTTR -> Crash of the Titans -> Mind Over Mutant -> Nitro Kart 2 -> Nitro Kart 3 -> CTR Grand Prix -> On the Run -> Crash Rumble. There's really nothing that contradicts this order, if Uka Uka managed to escape a rift in time in Crash 4, then he should be able to return to Earth somehow after being yeeted to space in the good ending of Bash, in fact it complements his annoyed attitude in the start of Wrath of Cortex..
Actually, Crash Warp would be the divergence as the creators say Coco traveled back in time to help Crash in that game. EDIT: I see where you made the Mistake. So all the new recent games are the new time-line. Coco went all the way back to 1.
Crash 4 it's not a bad game but it doesn't feel like a continuation of the Trilogy with all the redesigns and artistic liberties TFB took... its more like a half-reboot. TFB should have done Spyro 4... they nailed the remakes of Spyro Trilogy, VV or Beenox should have done Crash 4 instead.
My crash timeline including a couple of the cancelled games (because why not?) Crash Bandicoot 1 > Crash Bandicoot 2 > Crash Bandicoot 3 > Crash Bandicoot 99x > Crash Bandicoot 4 It's About Time > Crash Team Racing 1999/2019 > Crash Team Racing 2019's Grandprix events > Crash Bash > Crash Bandicoot Worlds > Crash Bandicoot TWoC > Crash Twinsanity > Crash Clash Racing > Crash Twinsanity 2 > Crash Cortex Chaos > Crush Bandicoot > Crash Bandicoot XS/The Huge Adventure > Crash Bandicoot 2 N. Tranced > Crash Bandicoot Fusion/Purple > Crash Nitro Kart > Crash Tag Team Racing > Crash Boom Bang > Crash of the Titans > Crash Bandicoot Mutant Island > Crash Mind Over Mutant > Crash Landed > Crash Team Racing 2010 > Crash on the Run > Crash Team Rumble I excluded the mobile crash racers because i didn't know where to put them.
There was the skylanders game and tv show im not 100% sure cus i never played it but i think there was a few lines about the previus games so i think that is part of the cannon in some way.
The real question that this man showed us is why is his name made out of cheese and all of the titles? It's just cheese. What is he Mickey Mouse chuck e cheese The monopoly man
some thoughts about this if all games take place on the same timeline the Dingodile thing isn't a problem because it seems like it might have been an alternate Dingodile from the Swamp Dimension when I was making a Crash Timeline someone suggested that CTR Nitro-Fuelled Grand Prix' are annual events that take place in-between Crash Games Wrath Of Cortex Intro Cutscene takes place in The Hyperspace Temple from Crash Bash so Good ending canon, Uka Uka escaped N-Trance being a Dimensional Traveller means his appearance in Twinsanity would have worked Tiny wasn't in Boom Bang either was he? I personally choose to believe there is both a merged timeline with all events and timelines that are split at the same time
isn't crash 4 after wrath of cortex? because at rude awakening there is the crunch spelling who didn't exist until twoc so unless there is a crash 5 that somehow explains this cortex got out of realm at the end of crash 3 did all of his stuff than came back and apparently crash coco and aku forgot so they think its been 20 years since they have seen them or they actually had an encounter unknown with crunch
I don't think CNK comes after N-Tranced, the N. Trance from CNK could just be an entirely separate character like the Nina from Crash Purple or the Oxide from literally any game after CTR
@@RikoKSB N. Trance and Oxide are just kinda there in CNK, no one acklowdges them. But I guess the fact Fake Crash is part of Team Bandicoot could make the game part of the Vicarious Visions-verse
The CNK manual straight up says N. Trance is "out for revenge", and also that Oxide is still bitter over previous losses to Crash and his friends, while CNK's GBA/N-Gage blurb also mentions racing against foes both old and new. Oxide also says "sweet revenge" in a cut storyboard while N. Trance seems to know Polar and Dingodile were friends of Crash/Cortex's teams. Occam's razor is that N. Trance and Oxide were in CNK BECAUSE of their in-universe history with Crash.
In all honesty, to give my personal opinion since other people are (respectfully I hope lol) in the chat: I don't even think about canon outside of 1-3 and 4. Everything else to me is something of a side-game - not any less legitimate, and typically just as competent, but not something whose plot I'm invested in among the wider universe either.
@@RikoKSB Oh shit thats true, yea the game just cant be put in the timeline unless you assume N Brio and Cortex became friends again so soon after Crash 2
This video have more sense than the actually respondes of TFB in the Crash 4 credits. No kidding, their respondes was in short words was ''Multiverse!'' and honestly i'm sick of that,
Only in Japan is the wrath of cortex is crash 4 it doesn't say its crash 4 like crash bandicoot 2 and 3 say there crash 2 and 3 so crash bandicoot 4 IAT is crash 4, yes Japan has 2 crash 4's
if the true ending of warped is canon in both timelines, then how can ctr be canon cuz at the end of warped cortex and n tropy are babies stuck in the past with uka uka, meanwhile theyre perfectly fine in ctr
Stop breaking the 4th wall 🧱 (Idk I thought it will be funny) Also to everyone out there cttr was my first crash Bandicoot game I've played in the series and I'm nostalgic for it (btw cttr stand crash tag team racing)
The recent Crash game, Crash 4? Is godawful in my opinion, the first 3 games is still the GOAT and Crash Bash heck even Wrath of Cortex was pretty good, those are for me the last great Crash games before he died, Twinsanity, although I played that game a lot I think it has tons of flaws and it feels very unfinished. And the remakes are just ok, the originals still play and look good in my book, but I understand why they did remake them. But story wise I never really cared for it, it barely had a story, just a typical villain wants to dominate the world and a goofy protagonist who tries to stop it. Although I don't care, I think it fits these games, story shouldn't be a focus for these kinds of games, gameplay is what matters and we now live in a world where story is the number one priority but the gameplay suffers from it. Look at the GoW, the reboot is so story focused that the gameplay feels boring and is not that intresting in my opinion.
If you were to ask me, the spin-offs, like the GBA games aren't canon. Why? Because for example, no one brings what happened in The Huge Adventure even though it's a big deal.
I mean I don't bring up the Holocaust or 9/11 every day but they definitely happened. Though yeah, I like to do think the original Vicarious Visions games were the original (and actual) timeline split.
@@webbrowser4603 Dude if you think about it, Crash was essentially fighting WW1 Germans in the biplane levels of Crash Warped, so the Holocaust really isn't that disconnected from Crash.

The fact that every single game is canon still amazes me to this day.
They aren’t all canon tho. 🤔
@@RikoKSBCrash 4 introducing different dimensions validates all the games, even Rumble, oh God.....

Crash 4 straight up made all of this more complicated than it originally was, but I’m amazed you still pulled off something coherent
It's all part of the plan, Crash 5 Clash of the Multiverse, where the different Crash universes collide
That would be awesome!
This didn't age well... :(

@@TomTheyy We'll have to wait and see what direction they decide to take in the future.
@@amazingdisgrace1684 I mean Paul Yan did say at GDC 2021 "the sequels that come after it in its chronological timeline."
@@TomTheyywait what does that mean?🤔
Now this is top notch content bro 👌
Yeah I would like to think Coco saved the world in that death race.
2:05 for Crash 2 I think both endings are canon since you need to beat Cortex atleast once before getting the N Brio ending
I never noticed that trophy in the opening of Wrath of Cortex before, thats actually a really nice detail. Great video!
I think in terms of the timeline splitting after Crash 3, the Wrath of Cortex timelines take place after the Any % endings, and the Crash 4 timeline takes place after the 100% ending.
U are right
Fantastic video!
There are 2 reasons I think this could happen:
A. The alternate timelines exist as other dimensions, therefore, if Crash is following the Crash 1 to Crash MoM timeline for example, it would be Crash from the future *AND* from another dimension that caused the Cortex Vortex failure
B. The Cortex Vortex was destined to fail even without future Crash's "help"
I think A is more likely due to the whole situation with Crash OTW confirming that all the timelines exist, but I'm gonna stop rambling now.
Totally agree on that take, and that was always my personal take on Crash's timeline, before and now after Crash 4's release, which I updated and added that split after Crash 3, except for one thing: I would still place Huge Adventure, N. Tranced and CNK as part of the same timeline as Twinsanity, CTTR, Titans and MoM
I like the idea of all the 3 racing games taking place at the same timeline, silly reason, but I also don't mind the Crunch thing, for me, he was not in the Huge Adventure just because it was not important for him to be on the plot, just like in Twinsanity that he only makes a cameo on the first boss fight with a cake, thinking that it was really a party for Crash, and then don't appear in the plot ever again in that game, even Coco appears more, just to be frozen by Cortex (even if it makes more sense for him to be part of Huge Adventure since it was a thing in the entire world, as for Twinsanity not every character knew about the Evil Twins), but still...
Probably there could be new games for the Crash 4 split, since it's the newest take on the series, and probably the one they'll go now on, taking place after Crash 4 (or CTRumble), and before On the Run, and On the Run will connect to the last game released for that timeline (And I don't think they'll continue that timeline where all the universes connect made by On the Run, I think it's a one time thing) but I like On the Run being Crash's BOTW, I think it's funny
I also think On the Run being a crossover between the entire Crash Timeline may also include the Spinoffs, maybe? Like a mix from EVERYTHING in the Series
I honestly think Crash 4 is a alternative timeline that the new games will follow.
And will reintroduce characters like Crunch and Nina Cortex
10:47 Crash sells the stories of the previous games at the end of CTR so maybe they made games about the subsequent movie and later incidents

12:13 what you said here makes me believe that Crash Bash can also be the end of the timeline
Well he has a double jump that jumps him very high so it could be that and it probably is that
Crash Lore explained :
In ancient times to twin brothers were born aku aku and his brother uka uka they where both very great leaders they lived on the first island in the game , but when age got the best of them they both did a magic spell to get they're soul into the mask they wore like for papu papu it is gonna be the mask he wears , anyways they kept helping and protecting the village as immortal masks but uka uka wanted to betray his brother and wanted to plant a tree to do a spell
The reason is unclear but its either n tropy going back in time to them and manipulating uka uka and telling him how strong he will be or maybe he was jealous but anyways then aku aku prisoned him into the prison he was in crash 3
Many centuries later we arent sure but well guess the year was 1960-1970 cortex was born and he was a nerd and cared alot about science unlike his family members who were clowns in a circus and the n on his head is for nerd , decades later he found n brio and both graduated from the academy of evil and they travelled around the world , n brio believed cortex was the smartest because cortex beat him intillectualy once and other scientists thought they were idiots and they're dreams never would come true.
Perhaps in the next game on this branch, he will make another fourth wall breaking joke about not being invited to the last game
@@RikoKSB I can't believe he didn't show up as a moving obstacle. The disrespect.
@TomTheyy also N Brio and N Gin look like they didn't age either. So to them Cortex and N Trophy weren't gone that long.
So interesting!
Thank you AI account, it is indeed interesting
3:28 It's possible that Crash 4's Dingodile has already experienced the rest of the timeline, including On the Run, and was sent back to the Mosquito Marsh during the events of On the Run and decided to retire then.
I like to believe that the Dingodile in Crash 4 is the “standard dimension” Dingodile, but considering they never confirm or deny it I suppose this is possible.
Crash Team Rumble fits somewhere after the Crash Team Racing timeline because one hint in the game states that crash has had his license revoked since Crash Team Racing

This was really interesting. I didn’t know there was a Crash Rumble webcomic
This was really interesting. Although I believe CTRumble Is a in universe game. I believe this
due to some lines on the loading screen suggesting that Crash team rumble is a in universe game developed by coco thus explaining
Coco's quantum attacks, why the game references older games and why multiple of the same character can be on screen at the same time.
It's a video game. But like, in the way all the games are; Nitro-Fueled also had multiples of characters in multiplayer.

The split in crash 3 to twoc and crash 4 could be two diferents situations like: 1. Crash defeats cortex and gets the cristals and gems but wasnt the 105% them twoc cames after, and when the 105% occurs the crash 4 enters into place.

It was one of the many Crash shirts that was made by The Yetee. Unfortunately it was one of their limited time ones too so idk if you can get it now.
3:31 there could be a possibility that crash 4 Dingodile is from a different dimension we’re he did retire
I mean it's never framed as anything more than the Dingodile we know and love.
Yeah this is literally the intention. CTR follows the any% ending while Crash 4 follows the 100% ending.

The one thing about the modern cannon that upsets me is the N. On cortexs head being made of metal now instead of a tatoo
Ah yes, the CBT!
The Crash Bandicoot Timeline needed saving. Please be sure to like, comment, and subscribe if you enjoy CBT.
Crash Bandicoot and Spyro were both thrown around from devloper to devloper like a ball at a basketball game 🏀

It's not possible to connect the timeline of every game because

Crash WOC to Tag team racing
Crash titans and mutant
Etc every univers is different
The story is never ending, it'll always be a silly and fun game about good guys beating bad guys and then *REBOOT*
Kind of like looney tunes
Assuming all take place in the same timeline:
1 - Crash Bandicoot
2 - Cortex Strikes Back
3 - Warped
4 - It's About Time
5 - Nitro Kart / Nitro Fueled
6 - Crash Bash
7 - Crash Team Rumble
8 - Wrath of Cortex
9 - Twinsanity
10 - Tag Team Racing
11 - Huge Adventure
12 - N-Tranced
13 - Nitro Kart
14 - Crash of the Titans
15 - Mind over Mutant

2:23 Yo Equestria Girls randomly made an appearance in this? Pretty based!
Let's go Dingo's Diner lore video nextTM
I think another way all of the games could be canon would be if you follow this order:
Crash Bandicoot -> Crash Bandicoot 2 -> Crash Bandicoot 3-> Crash Bandicoot 4 -> CTR -> Crash Bash (good ending) -> The Wrath of Cortex -> Twinsanity -> The Huge Adventure -> N.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Stop breaking the 4th wall 🧱
(Idk I thought it will be funny)
Also to everyone out there cttr was my first crash Bandicoot game I've played in the series and I'm nostalgic for it (btw cttr stand crash tag team racing)
I guess you don’t seem pretty interested into the Franchise which is sad but reasonable
Yay Crash Twinsanity is canon ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
2:37 Zelda fans be really salty about that branch
If you were to ask me, the spin-offs, like the GBA games aren't canon. Why? Because for example, no one brings what happened in The Huge Adventure even though it's a big deal.
I mean I don't bring up the Holocaust or 9/11 every day but they definitely happened. Though yeah, I like to do think the original Vicarious Visions games were the original (and actual) timeline split.
@@TomTheyy......Did you bring up the Holocaust and 9/11 in a discussion on fucking Crash Bandicoot?!
@@webbrowser4603 what's your point?
@@TomTheyyThe point is what sane person would do that!?
@@webbrowser4603 Dude if you think about it, Crash was essentially fighting WW1 Germans in the biplane levels of Crash Warped, so the Holocaust really isn't that disconnected from Crash.
To be honest there's a lost of stuffs that i disagree with but i think that it might be too long to explain on the comment section
