Glad for opportunity to find and be in his grace...Such a long walk back toward being in his love. Loss a lot but he gave me a chance to fix my wrongs and accept all that was not of his design. One of my all time favorites. This is soul food.
Of course, it's already been mentioned how many times someone has commented on Musiq's "Love" (in which Trin-i-tee 5:7 was inspired) and I can be of no exception, in this case. However, Musiq, himself wouldn't be very pleased with how beautiful Trin-i-tee so masterfully incorporated "Lord" as oppose to "Love". But God is "Love" and "Lord" is but another reverend term for the Most High... in essence, it's all the same thing.

I personally think the song makes more sense with the name "Lord". They say "so many people use your name in vain". That is one of the things they say about God. People using his name in vain. I love both versions of this song. But I like this one a lot better :-)

no matter who or when the song came in to play its a good song and has possibly the best message to ever give no matter if the message is about god or if its about the term love which people to this day have totally missed the true meaning of its sad really...good news is theres just more people that i can id the song to now

@KMason214 Actually Musiq had this song first. It came off his album, Aijuswannasing, in 2001. Then in 2002, Trin-i-tee came out with their version from their debut. But, I love them both! Because it spreads the message either way.

When in actuality Musiq's Version Is Secular Revise Of Trin-i-tee's 5:7 Version.

Before Christ, I loved Musiq's version, Now that I found Christ, I switched to Trin-I-Tee 5:7's verson! LORD!
Love by Musiq was first because that song came out in the 90's this song is fairly new
To those who are confused, this was Musiq's song first on his album Aijuswanaseing (2000). Trinitee did a remake on The Kiss, which was released 2002. The song was written by Ivan Barias and Carvin Haggins.
With that cleared up, I can say Trinitee's version was better. Both versions are powerful, but this hits deeper.
This was a R&B song by donell jones, called love, I think. I can't remember, but I know for sure it was donell jones. Trinitee often take R&B tracks and cross them over to gospel. But that's why I love them. They are able to take something bad and turn it toward's God. I think R. Kelly produces some of their tracks.
woowwww i would've never known this was the original. Makes a lot more sense placing Lord in place of Love. although the Lord is Love and Love is Lord. So i guess they both work. lol

@donnybucks09 i think the message was changed by using the word love. if you listen to musiq soulchild version it does not make you think about God. Especially for someone who could care less about God they are not going to listen to that song and think about God they are going to think about some boy or girl that they love or used to love

Actually Musiq Soulchild wrote it this way first, but the record label didnt think it was good for his image so he changed it to love and let them have the original.

Both are wonderful. But like others I enjoy Musiq's version better. When I first heard the song, I knew he was talking about God. Matter of fact everyone I knew did because God is LOVE!

It's not really about the vocals to me. It's the message and emotions behind it. Both versions evoked that. I like the fact this was about God. But nothing is wrong with love, God is Love.
Musiq Soulchild is the originator of this song, not trin-i-tee 5:7. He has a gospel streak in him but he did not want to be labled as a gospel artist when he wrote it. So he changed the name from Lord to Love. If you listen to any of his music, you can hear the religous influence. Ironically, he was raised a Muslim.
Record companies, exec's and radio should be ashamed of themselves. To make an artist struggle more and compromise or even change there lyrics to get AIRPLAY is disgusting & terrible. But God's Will and artist(s) who God 1st will ALWAYS COME OUT OF THE DARKNESS that man or the enemy tries to destroy WILL GLORIFY His NAME! HALLELUJAH TO YOUR NAME, Jesus. Actually this was a gospel song first...Way before Musiq...Listen to the chorus...LORD SO MANY PEOPLE USE YOUR NAME IN VAIN, THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH IN YOU SOMETIMES GO ASTRAY...Those are clearly gospel lyrics...Think about it!

This doesn't make sense. At this point it doesn't matter who the song was originally meant for and it was originally meant for what HE meant it for...there's no need to change one or two words (LITERALLY) and call it a gospel song just because you want to jam...don't even think about "jamming" realize what you think about when the song comes on and your natural instinct to wanna just break out in that high voice of his when he really gets going in the song...c'mon man!
