Hi SimonJust wanted to say a big thank you for your video on the Dapol Semaphore signal control with DCC.Thanks to you, I have managed to get my signals working perfectly with the ESU Switchpilot V2.0. I have been scratching my head for a while but your informative knowledge on the 12v relays (SPST - NO) was a revelation. At £2.49 each from Maplin, they were a steal. Many thanks and keep up the good work.Best regardsJohn
+Culreoch no problem, glad you got them working, it is great to have working signals. Must admit I wasn't sure it would work myself until I actually tried it, electrics isn't my strongest subject!
Looking forward to getting this from my local model shop next month when ive been paid, been eyeing it up for a fair few months! Thanks for the video Simon!
I live very close to Longmoor Military camp, and spend a large amount of time there with Air Cadets. The remnants of the railway are very prominent and the outdoor shooting ranges use the embankment as a sand bank. Its an interesting place, could be a fantastic background for a layout because there was a loop of track. Great video, keep them coming! Alex
Very nice set. I've seen this around but I don't collect N gauge. I do collect LMR locomotives and rolling stock though. Good job. Very nice layout too. I love the hill and pond/lake
A lovely set I suppose it would be hard to find one these days and even harder to find one retro fitted with DCC. Still there is no harm in looking. It's just what I am looking for at the moment. Thanks for sharing. UPDATE, I actually found and ordered one on EBAY. It's not DCC but I will find a local Aussie who can (make it so) lol
Very interesting, I'm impressed with how smooth it runs. and good to see the old layout again, I'd forgotten just how detailed some of your modelling skills are....cheers, Dave
one of the best layouts i ever seen . beautiful color even the boxing was pretty. i could whilst away hrs running your set. i love that cottage i could fancy myself living there and pulling a few pints watching . thanks
+ratrod diesels Thanks! Been busy building a new layout so I've not used the old one much. I'll have to do some videos of some running sessions on there.
beautiful set..I would buy this even thow I do not have an n guage layout..the loco is stunning. ... I have a few coreless motors they are maintance free and are super smooth...
great video. I'm looking at building an n gauge layout and was going to buy one of these as a starter pack. I was just wondering if you knew the minimum radius the locomotive would go round? any help would be much appreciated. thanks
+Gary Lester Yes will have to get a chip for it, should be even better a low speed running, I'll have to do a running session video of it once its chipped.
+Simons Shed hi Simon, thank you for your reply, I look forward to when you chip it, give DCC sound a thought, but I would use a decoder from Dcconcept. Regards Gary
Any idea why 3 brake coaches? Did the LMR not have any non-brakes? (I can imagine this might be the case, given the amount of kit that soldiers have.) Also it would be nice to be able to get an 0-6-0 ST to go with it ... LMR only had 1 (or 2?) 2-8-0s, but loads of smaller locos.
Looks stunning and as smooth as silk, and very distinctive livery ,,, great review and presentation many thanks for sharing ,,, ,Alan............... (Need to ask a favor Simon P.M'd you )
+Simons Shed Hi Simon ,,,, just been checking ,,, I have the P.M message I sent you ,,, but no reply,,,, and no emails ,,, its a total pain sometimes ,,,,, Just in case you want to try again or send a test ,,,, alan.plumb3@ntlworld.com Sorry Simon ,,,,,
hi Simon, if i brought a dcc train and my layout was dc would there be a dcc chip already in the loco?? if so would I take it out and when I do will it be OK to run my loco on DC???? please answer ive asked loads of people this but no one has ever replied 8( please help 8)
Good review. It has a beautiful box with it's interesting art work. Good runner right out of the box on DC. It was also nice to Bodmin Woods again. It is such a lovely layout. Too bad about the backscene. Otherwise it is perfect. Rob
+Rob McCrain Thanks Rob, can't believe how quiet and smooth it runs. The back scene seems to crease up really bad in the cold, it looks a bit better when its warmer in the shed, I may have to try something different for the new layout.
Just bought three more carriages. Saw a guy on eBay yesterday who had six for sale at 14.95 each so bought three. Quite reasonable I thought. Last time I saw some for sale they were going for £33.00 each! I suppose 3 is probably more historically accurate but I like long trains.
'Certificate of authenticity'. 😂😂 If anyone can reproduce the box, packaging, loco and carriages, they will not be able to work out how to use a photocopier?
very nice layout! My friend just completed his layout which was inspired by Longmoor. He just posted a layout tour thing here: ua-cam.com/video/RZwpiDb6n4c/v-deo.html
I am really amazed how smooth the loco runs right out of the box. And the detail is amazing.
Excellent video Simon keep it up.
What an absolutely beautiful train. Love the blue and red coloring. Those carriage doors are so detailed, they look like they should open.
As per usual Simon, an excellent review of an excellent product and train pack.Well done Simon you are an inspiration to us all. Keep it going
Thanks.

+Dave Harriman Thanks Dave, it was good to dust off (literally) the old layout. Will have to do some running session videos.
The detail in the cab is amazing!
+xrayracer1 I know, they keep raising the standard!

I am tempted to buy this set, already have two BR WDs which are the best running UK outline steam locos I have.
+Ian Mumford It is a nice set, can't believe how quiet the motor is in the loco.
i have the same loco and am still not used it yet . it does look good
beautiful set..I would buy this even thow I do not have an n guage layout..the loco is stunning. ...
I have a few coreless motors they are maintance free and are super smooth...
+hovermotion Yes she's a beauty, and am really impressed with how it runs, will have to get a chip and see it performs on DCC.
Awesome review, liked the slow mo part, it's beautiful and smooth, cheers mate!
Thanks!
Nice looking loco and good review. The detail in the cab is amazing. Steve
+JamesStJunction Thanks Steve, was really impressed with how smoothly it ran, I think I said 'wow' a few many times in the video!
great video. I'm looking at building an n gauge layout and was going to buy one of these as a starter pack. I was just wondering if you knew the minimum radius the locomotive would go round? any help would be much appreciated. thanks
Fantastic looking unit.
Great review and a great looking pack as well. The box seems a bit oversized for the size of the train though!!!!
+Steam in the North West Thanks, yes it is a bit of a large box, they definitely didn't scale it down to n-gauge!
love them locos in any size
love the vid mate
good work
ade
+adi pullen Thanks Ade.
Can you please do the Graham garish landship trains pack opening if you can please let me know thank you
Very nice train pack, Simon
Hi Simon, very nice model, smooth running is brilliant, looking forward to seeing when you put a dcc chip in. Thank you, cheers Gary
+Gary Lester Yes will have to get a chip for it, should be even better a low speed running, I'll have to do a running session video of it once its chipped.

Thanks for the review, looks like a stunner.
Hello Simon it would be nice if you could give the retail price
Do the coupling hooks have the chains on them?
very good video as always it run very nice on your bodenham lay out, it would be nice to see it on the shed valley thanks
Yes will have to give her a run on the new layout.

Farish do an o-6-0 T
Simon.. how do you fit the name plate
grate work once again Simon really sucked me in this one keep up the grate work kind regards Dan
+highport junction Thanks Dan, it is a great set.

+Alan Plumb Thanks Alan, got you PM, I did send you an email, not sure if you got it as I got a 'delayed' message a while after I sent it??
+Simons Shed Hi Simon ,,,, just been checking ,,, I have the P.M message I sent you ,,, but no reply,,,, and no emails ,,, its a total pain sometimes ,,,,, Just in case you want to try again or send a test ,,,,

Yes there would be a dcc chip in that you would have to remove and put the blanking plate in, then it would work on dc.
Yes, take the dcc chip out and replace it with the blanking plate and it will work on DC
Simons Shed thanks so much Simon! I now know what to to if I have a dcc train, thanks to you!

I was thinking of buying one of these - but they don't sell extra carriages!
+Hamilton Ah right, you'd have to buy multiple train packs which would get v. expensive!
Just bought three more carriages. Saw a guy on eBay yesterday who had six for sale at 14.95 each so bought three. Quite reasonable I thought. Last time I saw some for sale they were going for £33.00 each! I suppose 3 is probably more historically accurate but I like long trains.
You should do a review on the Seaside Excursion train set it's a stunner! !!!!!:-)
Shame its not 600 Gordon. Would fit the SVR then :)
+KainTLA Good point, I've seen Gordon at the Engine House but forgot it was a LMR loco! That may be a future re-numbering project me.
+Simons Shed yep would be cool, though Gordon is a 2-10-0 sadly
I could’ve gotten it for £50 but didn’t think it would be that nice so I didn’t.Now,I regret it
'Certificate of authenticity'. 😂😂

"Grafar Ltd. Made in China" 10:15 ... :-(
The new Motors are nice and smooth runners, starting to see them here in the U.S.A. Should run real nice with DCC. Bob, at Longshadowsmodeltrees.com
+Widi1956 Yes they do seem to be a significant improvement, really impressed, will have to buy a DCC chip for it.
I JUST GOT ONE AND I HAVE NUMBER 67 NOT 69
