If anyone watching this with an SRT-4 is about to install a catch can or valve cover now, there are some things missed here... ---He installs the catch can on the least important side of the valve cover. The proper setup is adding it to the opposite side, the PCV line that runs to the throttle body/intake manifold. You also want to add a check valve after the catch can to prevent boost from heading to the VC. Factory PCV->Catch can->Check Valve->Throttle body. Ignoring this side will result in oil building up in the cold side charge pipe, intercooler, and slowly getting sucked right into the intake manifold. Much more engine oil consumption exposure than the intake side creates. Yes you can have one for each side, but it's overkill IMO ---As far as the valve cover, he skips the step called out in the FSM to add Mopar RTV Sealant to the camshaft's seat grooves before installing the new gasket and valve cover. Now that valve cover is prone to leaking oil @ those areas down the road lol.
You gotta realize that this looks tacky now but this show came out at the peak of the sports compact craze during the first Fast and Furious and shit like this was cool. This was back when just trying to upgrade to HID's would cost you $300-$500.
Does anyone know where exactly I can buy the valve cover, fuel rail cover and all the silicon hoses and braided wire. I have a 2004 srt4 and I wwanna do this to mine. I've looked all over but I can't find the braided wires or silicone hosing anywhere
Why would you need a catch can? The 2.4 is an easy breather even with a big turbo, really no need. And basically you just added 10 pounds of weigh to the vehicle. With the money spent I would find a stage 2 mopar computer or a Diablo tuner head to the dyno and dial it in. About the same money as what this guy just spent on worthless eye candy and call it a day. Seriously guys how much time do you spend with your hood up drooling over your motor?
dan rieco If you don't have one you can start getting oil in your cold side intercooler pipe and even shooting out of your BOV if you don't keep an eye on it. There's other reasons too, some of which he explained in the video. If you think it's worthless, then you don't understand this car very well.
10lb catch can? I don't think so the breather helps keep oil build up out of the intake system it helped a lot on my srt 4 the intercooler was a little wet of oil after the catch can no issues

Looks like he went to the racer isle in autozone and went nuts -__-
Haha what the fuck do you drive? Bet that the thing in the video rapes every single car you have.
I drive an srt 4 hes right that shits rice no gains at all the coil pack and catch can were the only worthy mods I see
but it was fun to watch!
I drive an srt4 aswell, and i have to say, there is no harm in making your engine look good, i personally want to do a few of these now.
@@tylerfalch2765 coil pack does nothing for power. OEM is all you need.
I wonder how many people did this stuff to their base model neons back in the day
Lol oil catch can to take care of spills at the track
😂😂😂
This video shows you how to do some important things, like valve cover, intercooler, catch an....removing bumper, coil, and wrap your intake in crap.
Such Fast
Very Furious
The only tng I saw useful to a certain degree was the oil-catch can.
Cool vid man
I would take that intake and mire rap off. Should have stopped after putting on valve cover and aluminum cover.
That's not your average joe work buddy. Takes knowledge and skill to do that!
My srt4 has the PVC valve connect to the oil catch can

+dan rieco the catch can eliminates the notorious oil contamination in the throttle body and intake
+dan rieco dump out the intercooler and tell me how much oil is in there and is getting ingested.
The catch can is very important to limit the oil from blowby going into your intercooler
