The requirements are pretty standard - academic transcripts, test scores, essays/SoP etc. You'll find them on any official site. The essays become more important if you are looking for a career change from another industry. Jobs can be a bit difficult, more so if you can't speak German. I have no idea about MBA. I am trying to help a friend of mine who is working in Bank as clerk and have exp of 3year. Is there any executive mba program for 3 year experienced and what stream should she choose?
Difficult to give a quick answer, since a lot would depend on what your friend wants from the MBA. If it's a career change, then a part-time or online MBA is unlikely to help.
@@MBACrystalBall Thankyou for your quick response. what if she wants a better profile in bank itself and not thinking about career change. What do you think can help her. Or do you provide some career guidance option, something like career counselling
She can connect with her HR to find out what they consider for promotions within the bank. Are there any specific qualifications that they value over the others? Once she knows this, she can take an informed decision. We do provide career counselling, but it would be better for her to explore options on her own first.
Depends on what you want to do after the MBA. Here's the story of an architect who went to a top M7 business school. www.mbacrystalball.com/blog/2016/10/03/chicago-booth-executive-mba-admit-indian-architect/

The information you've shared would be only a small fraction of what adcoms look at. As long as the score is valid, you should be fine. Just make sure none of the schools on your target list has any specific requirements that deviate from the industry standards.
Hi sameer sir, actually i wanted to share something and didn't find anyone to as a advice from. Ive recently graduated from miranda house, econ major and I'm appearing for cfa level 1 in feb. I want to go for higher studies in finance from abroad but i really don't know when i have to consider this option. Is it the right time just after graduation or what should i do!! Also how are the options that doesn't require gmat/ other exams after cfa level 1.
Our general recommendation is to always get some experience first before considering an international degree. It helps the student absorb and appreciate the concepts better. There are some good programs that have skipped the GMAT/GRE requirements due to COVID. Best to recheck their requirements in the year of application. Having a good GMAT/GRE score will open up more opportunities.
Sir in your experience, have you ever come across candidates who have completed regular MBAs from Top colleges abroad and then 10-15 years later opted for another Exec-MBA from another Top College abroad? Given the age difference (for example : an MBA with 8-10 yrs exp and then an EMBA with 20-25 years of exp)..A crowd of managers & mid career professionals vs a crowd of late career professionals like MDs & VPs. Do candidates ever go for further education beyond an MBA?
@MBA Crystal Ball what if the motivation behind this move revolves around startup business expansion in a different country, personal networking and some other elements..like some Top Bschools have recently started collaborating with various VC firms, research centers, govt organizations etc. for their entrepreneurship programs. True many of the business concepts would overlap, but the overall experience would be different, wouldn't it? Especially for someone caught in a middle management role or it's startup equivalent...they would have a different kind of cohort. Based on what I've noticed so far: A BBA is when a founder starts a small startup => An MSC leads to the growth of the startup to some level => An MBA leads to a larger nation wide reach (typically you meet founders, bankers, consultants & managers from all over the industry) => an EMBA finally leads to a cohort of some of the Big names of the industry, business on a larger scale, with possibilities of an IPO. Ofcourse the doctoral programs are there, but that's more focused on research of one particular topic of a business.
@MBA Crystal Ball I've been following a channel called Valuetainment headed by Patrick Bet David....and he's like the face of entrepreneurship for us. So he talks about these different levels of the game. He has a video called "Your 15 moves". He talks about the initial days when he started his business from nothing, then moved on to a phase where he was having a turnover of 5-10 million in his business, then fast forward a few years he reached new heights and turnover increased to 40-50 million. He opened up offices all across U.S.A. ...and now he's reached a point in his life where he's interviewing people like Ray Dalio, Robert Kiyosaki, the world's No 1 hacker, the head of Federal Reserve Bank, Danielle Di Martino Booth, Michael Porter, Kobe Bryant, Mark Cuban, Joe Rogan and many others. It's a different place to be in altogether. So if anyone wants to follow his footsteps but in a more traditional way, wouldn't that be possible? This is assuming, the startup thrives and successfully expands into different markets.
The big advantage of an EMBA would be that most students in the class would've reached a senior position in their industry. But not many of them would be interested in a startup at that age, as they have many more commitments and risks to take care of. Interesting graph for Patrick. But that's not the typical story you hear. He got there because he had something that others (incl so many HBS grads) didn't.
@@MBACrystalBall True. His journey has been extraordinary. However, I did notice that ever since he came out of the Advanced leadership program at HBS ..he started expanding his channel from entrepreneurship to other things and this is when it became a media channel..he started conducting interviews, collaborating with others, making podcasts etc. I'm sure the program made a deep impact on him. Coming to the startup bit, well if things go according to plan and the startup doesn't perish in a few years, I think by the time anyone would make it to an EMBA or a DBA, the startup would technically not be a startup anymore...I mean it's a time frame of atleast 15-20 years of business. I think it would be a proper establishment by then..I'm hoping fingers crossed. Also even if nobody from the group joins the business, there could be other benefits of having a senior cohort..for example: easier sanction of permits from the govt...thanks to a batch mate, or access to larger funds from a prominent PE firm or corporate discounts from large banking corporations thanks to a batchmate being an MD or a VP. let's say if I have a large startup consulting business that has it's presence in multiple countries and has grown to some extent over the years...I speak to a batchmate who's handling corporate accounts at American Express or Chase or CITI. I get a better deal thanks to him..in return I pitch their products to all my clients or I approach another friend from Newark electronics and get a better deal for bulk orders of electronics parts etc...a mutual relationship...helping both parties to bond & grow together...something of that nature. This would be something early career founders would benefit from, afterall our reach is their reach. Just like we are benefitting from PBD's knowledge & connections today
Sir , can I add those online courses in coursera in my educational qualifications so as to cover up that 16 years of education which is required by most of the American Bschools?
Most will not consider them. Make sure you check with your target universities before you spend a lot of time and effort chasing certifications that may not matter to adcoms.
Sir I was working as an Assistant Central Intelligence Officer in Intelligence Bureau. Does working in a government job will be considered in professional work experience?
Hello Sameer, Good to connect! Wanted quick suggestion from you reg the GMAT. I have already completed my master's and have 4 years of work experience. I want to fast pace my career as I know where will I be after 10 years ( for both scenarios either with PwC or if I switch to some other firm). Hence, I planned to pursue EMBA (executive MBA) which can boost my career. It will be really helpful if you can share your experience/insight with me on this.
Assuming you aren't mixing up terminologies (EMBA vs MBA), an EMBA is meant for senior professionals who're looking for a vertical rise as opposed to a career change. Most folks in your age/experience bracket prefer going for a regular full-time MBA from an elite international bschool.
@@MBACrystalBall No. I have completed MBA ( with dual specialization in marketing and finance) and I want to now pursue Executive MBA to give boost to my career. So, does it make sense to go ahead and do it? Because that makes dual master's to my resume.
Adding degrees to the resume doesn't necessarily equate to adding value. If you already have an MBA, adding a part-time EMBA in such a short span of time, doesn't seem to be very convincing.
@@MBACrystalBall For the below vertical rise, is it just moving up the corporate ladder within the existing company and also how senior does the professional need to be? "an EMBA is meant for senior professionals who're looking for a vertical rise"

Can you please provide some information regarding MSc in finance in Germany... what are the Prerequisites and job prospect??
The requirements are pretty standard - academic transcripts, test scores, essays/SoP etc. You'll find them on any official site. The essays become more important if you are looking for a career change from another industry. Jobs can be a bit difficult, more so if you can't speak German. Here's the story of someone we helped who used a German MS in Finance degree to successful break into finance.

Based on what I've noticed so far:
A BBA is when a founder starts a small startup => An MSC leads to the growth of the startup to some level => An MBA leads to a larger nation wide reach (typically you meet founders, bankers, consultants & managers from all over the industry) => an EMBA finally leads to a cohort of some of the Big names of the industry, business on a larger scale, with possibilities of an IPO.
All those are theoretical possibilities, but it would also depend on the specific composition of the class you are in.
Sir , can I add those online courses in coursera in my educational qualifications so as to cover up that 16 years of education which is required by most of the American Bschools?
Most will not consider them. Make sure you check with your target universities before you spend a lot of time and effort chasing certifications that may not matter to adcoms.
