Andi, I have been sewing for over 60 years and never realized or was told that I should only turn my wheel only one direction. ( I just forgot which way you said, LOL). Never heard of leaders and enders either so your videos are wonderful for me. My machines have eaten lots of fabric over the years and to think, I could have prevented that. The videos are a big help to old quilters too. Thanks so much.

I started using leaders/enders for a few years now and they really do make a difference. No more bunched up fabric at the beginning of the seam! It also does save on thread. And, yes, I have also made little 4 patch or what not to use as my leaders/enders and save them for a future project. They add up fast! Thanks for the video.

It saves thread. Prevents the needle unthreading.

I love the idea of making a second quilt from leaders and enders! Which machine are you using in this video? Thanks.

Hi Imogene! I'm using a Singer 301, which is my most favorite machine on earth.
I highly recommend this! It takes a little getting used to and a little planning, but think of how much time and thread can be saved!

My thought: If you want to save thread on a waste scrap, don’t stitch more than a few stitches on either end. No sense going all the way across.
