@@Annanough yes as long as you dont change the pads. actually now that i remember, i didn't had to compress the cylinder. if just making cleaning of brakes, you will be able to put them back withut compressing the cylinder. when you change pads and put new ones, you will have to compress the cylinder. front = ok, back, need to use special tool (i dont have it) or go to the shop.
Remember to wear a mask, those particles if breathed in are killers
I think you forgot to lube the caliper slide pins which can seize.
