It is always amusing to hear 2x (almost) the same melody anthem, with lyrics differences or not. England vs. Liechtenstein, Finland vs. Estonia, Greece vs. Cyprus and, in the past, Poland vs. Yugoslavia
For you, this song uses the tune of the UK's national anthem, but the Liechtenstein anthem is more country-focused and the British anthem focuses on the King or Queen, the current tune of Liechtenstein in use since the time of the Kingdom of Prussia
British: God Save Our Gracious King/Queen... Liechtensteiners: WTH?! Are they singing our national anthem but in English? British: Hey, we were first in adopting this melody!
Mały super kraj Liechtenstein i bardzo go lubię. Pozdrawiam serdecznie ich i UA-cam plus komentatorów. Jarek Parzych z Ełk w Polsce na Mazurach 😄😀❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐶🐕🐈🐆🦓🐺🦁🐈😊
Drop Beattie have Owen up on own, have two 10's in Rooney and Lampard behind him putting Gerrard where Lampard was in midfield and Scholes in the middle and got a well balanced team there.

in the communist era eastern Europe the same thing happens with Poland and Yugoslavia due to them sharing the same national anthem where the tune is played twice
Actually, the Yugoslav anthem was a 40 years younger copy of the Polish anthem, with some changes in the middle of the anthem. Additionally, the Polish anthem is faster, more dynamic. But yes, in fact, it was always amusing to hear both
I’m baffled how these two nations have only played head to head twice in 2003 and not since At least the English fans had respect not to sing for leichenstein
THUMBS UP IF YOU CAME HERE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO HEAR THE ANTHEMS 🏴🇱🇮😱
Yes

prehistoric like begging
Everyone came here for the anthem, lol.
Ye
Finally find a Liechtenstein vs England so I can hear the same melody twice for the national anthem part :)
I know right ahaha always wanted to. Same with England and Northern Ireland that song gets played once
It has to been an awkward moment for both sides
I think everyone is here for the Anthem
check a match between Greece and Cyprus and you'll find the same thing
Same here😂
“Now let’s hear it again”
Yeah that made me chuckle!
Someone had to sing it so no one gets confused.
Imagine accidentally singing for the other anthem
I bet they did
@@MarshallRedmon01 They did, in fact they sang the British anthem thinking it was Liechtenstein's
A bit like when Poland and Yugoslavia had the same anthem but with slightly different melodies.
If this happens again, they should just play the melody once and simultaneously sing their respective national anthems
@@paolotorres8537 As you can hear, there is a big difference between Liechtenstein's and England's anthem.
This is extremely rare time when both anthems are almost exactly the same
Anyone else here for the anthems
Probably the only commentator to ever say now least hear it again
Americans here be like, "MY COUNTRY, 'TIS OF THEE..."
"May I copy your homework?"
I came for the anthem. 😌☝🏻
"Really? Don't tell me! 🙄🙄🙄"

Thanks mate again & again
they're both probably so confused
Imagine if german empire still existed
Alas, they lost the war. ;)
@@thesmithersy they didn't lose war, they merely failed to win
???????
Or Austria-Hungary and modern Germany

Not enough to have their own victory grooming gangs.
I imagine this was so embarrasing for both teams
In 1936 Liechtenstein competed with Haiti at Olympics and discovered they had the same flag, so they added the crown in upper left corner.

Not really it's common knowledge the melody is the same. Austria-Hungary and Germany might've gone through the same thing once
@@chrismc410Germany didn't used the same anthem at the same time as Austria-Hungary.

Yes! The 2 countries with the same 2 national anthems are Estonia and Finland

And its German cover
Didn't know this was ever played
England and Liechtenstein have the same melody. And technically same anthem
@@Whatwhat1235 like the German empire also had the same melody
@@GarryKasparov12 yes I know that and a lot of other countries use these melody

Looking back at this match this result was way below par. Nowadays you would have people being pissed off and rightly so. It should have been 6/7-0.
