    during the pandemic, I bought a portable bidet. It was too much water and didn't work. Since it looked like a mini shower head, I actually turned it into that - using it as a small shower head to use less water in the shower - just a small amount of water where I need it at one time and no letting the water run while I'm washing with soap.
    It didn't work as well as I had hoped, because I run out of water too quickly and have to refill with soapy hands. So I decided to take a sparklett's 5 gallon bottle and add a primo manual pump to it. So now I can use the portable bidet with that and that should work. I didn't try that yet, but every step gets me there.

    Great idea! I realize you and people in other countries already do this, but to my fellow Americans - please be sure to regularly wash the handheld bottle and tubes you are using as a bidet. To dry off, use old wash cloths, or ripped up old t-shirts. Have a basket or bag by the toilet just for the used cloths. Throw the cloths away or wash them in really hot soapy water. Also, toilet paper really isn't all that necessary if you are at home and can shower off. 🙂

      We are American and already use a bidet. We have a basket full of clean washcloths for drying off, and a basket to put those in. They are bright white and as long as you do a good job cleaning they will stay nice and white. I don’t like toilet paper. You wouldn’t just wipe poop off your arm with toilet paper and call it a day. So why do it to your butt. I would not use only a wipe either. Soap and water is the best.

    • @Tankergirl80
      @Tankergirl80 3 роки тому +2

      Why do you assume Americans don’t know to wash the bottles & tubes but non Americans do? Why do you assume Americans need to be told and also need to have instructions on how to do so, including what to do with cloths used in the process, given to them? And since you feel they need this guidance, why then not tell them when/how to wash their hands, clean their toilet, wipe off bathroom counters & plumbing fixtures etc?

    • @shayisenor6896
      @shayisenor6896 3 роки тому +4

      @@Tankergirl80 he/she is assuming that because most Americans do not use this kind of system after using the restroom. Most Americans use toilet paper, you go to the average American home and toilet paper will be stacked in their bathroom. So this idea of using a tabo, bidet, peri or other system of water and soap after peeing and pooping is most likely a new concept to the average American. So this person was just trying to give some helpful information to those Americans that since both have be taught that toilet paper only is the best and most hygienic way to wash your body ( which for obvious reasons it is absolutely not). hopefully I cleared some things up for you. Have a great day.

    Much simpler: Just remove the little tube from a dollar store spray bottle and hold the bottle upside down. You just set the nozle to a jet. I just tried it, it works really well.
    Actualy the spray bottle didn't do the work. I 'd only tried it above my sink. When I tried it for real, the je spray wasn't strong enough. It would be ok to clean a baby though.

      Thank you for taking the time to share your tips. Couple of questions: 1. do you point bottle top down? 2. How much water do you use each time? Notice the shampoo bottle used in this video is 25 FL Oz.

    • @billyjack873
      @billyjack873 4 роки тому +1

      @@GeniusAsian I would go with the 6 to 8 oz bottle cause if you go any larger you will have a problem with positioning cause it will take up to much room. You can fill up two 6 or 8 oz bottles all the way up, one bottle for the front and one for the back. When you squeeze the bottle from the front, aim at a slight slant, aiming towards your target and give it a good squeeze. With the other bottle move your rump toward the front of the seat so that you have more room. From behind, angle your bottle and squeeze. The reason I get my bottles from Michael's is the plastic is a higher quality than the bottles you get on Amazon. The bottles on Amazon are cheap and the lid pops off. To dry yourself you can cut up some old fabric like old T- shirts or what ever you have handy that you don't need and keep your soiled cloth in a separate container and wash separately from your clothes. It's so easy once you get the hang of it. You will feel more fresh. Hope this helps.

The best I've come across so far using off-the-shelf components is a soft squeeze condiment bottle I found at BB&B along with a 1/4" 90 degree plastic connector near the quick-connects section at Home Depot. The bottle should be easily squeezable yet regain its shape reasonably quick while supplying a steady strong gush of water.

      Dirty Hippie They work and unlike toilet paper that smears feces in and around your bum...a bidet actually cleans you . You can add a little vinegar to the water and get even cleaner. As for drying your self off. I carry small dry rags in my purse in a zip lock bag. I either toss the rag in the trash or put it in seperate zip lock bag, take it home and wash it. The thrift store offers tons of cheap flannel pajamas you can make into rags to dry your bum . It takes 37 gallons of water to make one roll of toilet paper. It takes millions of trees to supply Americans with toilet paper. It takes just a few ounces of water from a well made bidet to clean yourself with after your poo and a woman can clean herself in both places with a good bidet. I like some vinegar in my bidet. I have an actual bidet toilet and also a hand held bidet .

    From what I am seeing, not eating from any and everyone stands even firmer. The recent suggestion from that doctor or virologist or scientist that shaking hands and hugging have to stop, is very much backed up here. And just like hospitals here in the UK have posted at every turn: "It is in your hands" is so even truer here in these responses and suggestions. And the 24 hour command on the television right now, to "Wash your hands"- the proof is right here. Would I want someone who uses a cloth after emptying his or her bowels to package food in a factory, cook in a restaurant, select my food in a takeaway, wash or style my hair, manicure my nails or even touch my clothes?

      This doesn't even make full sense as a push for TP over a towel. There has been so much evidence of people passing along parasites and germs to each other due to improper hand washing after using the restroom and those people were most likely using TP. How is a towel different? If you contaminate your hands in the cleaning phase, regardless of what is used, and then don't wash them well afterwards, you have contaminated hands. This is why in all food service/grocery stores here in the US there are signs in the restrooms that all personnel are required to WASH their hands after using the toilet and before returning to work. They already figured out the TP isn't going to stop them from getting "things" on their hands.

    • @oliviairving114
      @oliviairving114 4 роки тому

      Holly XO, am I pushing for tp over a towel? Since you have not understood, I am showing my concern for the hygiene process involved in such a long process of the idea of using water.
      Let me point out something to you. Many people flush a toilet but they have not used it but don't wash their hands. Do you know why that is? Answer that question and I will get back to your first response.

      Genius Asian, the handwashing video is not for me. I am the one showing concern over cross contamination and asking if people are aware of all the bacteria they could be entertaining while focussing on the cost of toilet paper.

    • @oliviairving114
      @oliviairving114 4 роки тому

      Diane Ferre', I am glad for your scenario. Peanut butter is a good parallel but its oil content and the smoothness of fruit may support the advice, perfectly. But I know from where you are coming that is my concern when there is talk of using cloths for the drying process and washing them. The very washing machine that washes the kitchen towels that dry the kitchen ware and utensils. Or will it be bare hands that stink of poo? And how about the poo that is stuck under the finger nails, with parasites or their eggs or both?
      Someone is trying to ask me how could my argument be for toilet paper over the washing (I had to guess the meaning of the letters, tp and some other letters I can't remember) by emphasising businesses already have signs telling their employess to wash their hands. Are the owners standing there till business shuts down? Are there cameras? Besides, the video relates to using the toilet at home. However, I have to consider the reusable cloth situation in light of the fact that people get Hepatitis A on holiday. Holidays are when people who never eat in or from a restaurant do just that. The Hepatitis is in the faeces and how would it get in the kitchen? Is it not from hands? Your hands are looking as bright as the sun but why is there still the smell of poo if you were to put them to your nostrils? That is how poo goes. If it gets on surfaces, the smell is an everlasting one. Why would that be if there is not traces of it embedded where the smell still lingers?
      Every time I get a request for bowel cancer test, I take forever to send in those samples, even though there are disposable gloves and newspaper and cardboard. I recently got a letter from my general practitioner doctor, telling me I did not deal with my bowel cancer test request which I had since last year. It's not fear of the result. Hopsital is my second home since I was an infant. It is dealing with poo and its my own.
      The strength of what I am saying is in the world current situation. And the command to wash your hands is there, inescapable. So I am trying to get people to see the whole pucture and if they may have let the control slip out of their hands, where it matters. What could have caused something in one country to reach the whole world and take out 10s of thousands of lives and so easily? Such things do not go unnoticed by me but neither do I take the stance there is nothing I can do about them and carry on. I have to get wise with the dangers that lurk around that make the line between life and death become more and more thin.
      Because of the caution I take every day, I did not have to bring forth the thought that the current alleged virus could be deposited on a surface or surfaces in here or my clothing at any time. I live each day with prevention dictating my actions.

    • @GeniusAsian
      @GeniusAsian  4 роки тому +1

      There are three groups of people:
      1. People in group 1 just use a little bit of toilet paper, maybe 10% of what they would otherwise use. See, this is how: ua-cam.com/video/silYA2vWgRM/v-deo.html
      2. People in group 2 will answer with the question: "After a shower, how do you dry your wet bum afterwards?" The implied answer is that you can do the exactly the same, that is the answer.
      3. The third group of people will do something in between group 1 and group 2. They will have a few bum towels, and wash them separately from other clothes, with bleach.
      The answer to your second question: This is the test=> ua-cam.com/video/silYA2vWgRM/v-deo.html if not clean, then continue washing. Note that the more times you use toilet paper, the more irritated your skin will bear. But with water washing, the number of times or how long you wash does not irritate you at all.

      oliviairving114 Toilet paper smears feces in and around your bum. A bidet cleans it off and is 100 percent more hygienic than toilet paper. You can also put warm water inside the bidet with vinegar and you get even cleaner . The French knew exactly what they were doing when they invented the bidet . As for how do you dry your bum. Carry a small clean rag in your pocket. Throw it in the trash after your finished with it or take it home and wash it . It take 37 gallons of water to make one roll of toilet paper when you can effectively clean your ass 100 times better with a bidet with just a few ounces of water .

      I think taking a shower after every time you use the restroom (I wash off after peeing, too!) would be far more of an ordeal than just washing off at the toilet. A cup of water works well too, actually. Been using them for years. A sturdy plastic one, like the types found at the dollar store or a plastic cup from a soda at a fast food joint or slurpee from 7 11 work nicely - they are large and hold a lot of water and won't break if dropped accidentally. Takes a LOT less time and water than taking another shower if you don't otherwise need one or already took one for the day.

I hope people realize what is going on and what is going to happen if we all don't stop with they way we've been doing things.
