My first setup was an 870 wingmaster, dove seat, yentzen duck call, hip boots, and a camo hoodie made of cotton. Had tons of adventures and froze my ass off. 40 years later I've got a heated blind on a jon boat. Dreamed of it for years.
Really enjoy your videos, you work very hard and very passionate about your love for waterfowling. I've hunted them for 56-years, and never lost the romance of working birds in the decoys. Great Job...
Josh, love the solo kayak hunts thanks for sharing! All the lakes here in Michigan are mostly frozen already so I’m sticking to the slow rivers to jump shoot tomorrow.
Josh it’s videos like this that keep me coming back, I get so hype watching this I don’t want to go back to work today. Keep up what your doing, I love the videos, especially outta the kayak
Okay seriously watching you drop them 2 out of that huge group was amazing I would flock shot like crazy I wouldn’t have been able to control myself. Good stuff man I wish we still had ducks around
Great weather. Great spot. Great shoot. Great video. Those mallards wanted to sit. Next time let ‘em and you’ll get better shots and even quicker limits. 👍
18 greenies and two black ducks this morn in Wisconsin cornfield hunting 5 dudes big wind very rainy great hunt . loved your hunt big water hunts are fun lots of ice up here good luck to you .
Man I love your videos. I hope next year I can find more hunting places around Salina. I’ve only got to hunt McPherson Wetlands but I at least got my first ever Mallard this year haha. All thanks to your instructional videos.
You’ve inspired me to start duck hunting. Just went out a picked up a thick jacket, blind bag, calls, gun bag, and some Mucks. Couldn’t find the waders I wanted so I’ll order those online. And here in about 2 days I’m gonna go buy a Benilli supernova
I'm 53 and I still blow thru some rounds before settling down and shoot better. I think when that feeling is gone I will hang it up and stay on the porch. I am pretty sure I recognize the drake with the frozen poo, I whiffed on him last week in western Iowa and that's when he shit himself, sooo your welcome.
Newbie here. (Stupid questions ahead) 1. How do you know which ducks are which when they are flying? 2. What happens if you accidentally go over the limit of ducks? 3. How do I start hunting? Again, I've never hunted just very interested.
1. Search waterfowl ID and start bird watching. The more you hunt/bird watch the easier it will become to ID birds. 2. If it’s an honest mistake, immediately call the CO/Game Warden. They most likely won’t do anything, probably get a slap on the wrist. I’ve witnessed guys getting checked by the CO, a couple guys were upfront and told them they accidentally were over the limit. The CO just took their extra birds and that was it. I’ve seen guys try to play dumb when being checked, the CO took all of their birds, and shotguns, and decoys. Read the regs and follow them, and be honest with the CO’s. 3. Contact a guide service in your state.
Loving the vids hoping on gettin out next week here in Oregon big cold front below freezing and chance of snow rlly hoping to get out and join u with a possible mallard limit
You hear of any luck up in the Tuttle creek/milford area? There’s been consistent flooding throughout the year. I’m heading back home in a few days so I’m hoping to shoot a few at my spots up there.
I've been a whitetail hunter for as long as I can remember... going on my first duck hunt tomorrow morning. I've been watching your vids and picking up on some stuff the past couple days so I don't look like a jackass out in the blind LOL.
I started out deer hunting it’s been 6 years now, just started waterfowl last season. It’s a whole different ballgame, highly addicting and painful over the offseason. Good luck, enjoy, and prepare to be consumed with the sickness!
@@wademello5800 We got skunked but it was still worth it. Saw a lot of ducks and geese, they just weren't having anything to do with our decoys. Hunted a lottery draw in Magee Marsh on Lake Erie. The sickness is beginning to consume me lol.
Man, that little boat must catch A LOT of wind when it's set up like that. I'd rather a small row boat in cold water like that, but they're obviously much harder to handle alone.
You seem to really know how to put them in the decoys. Do you mix your geese and mallards together or you keep the geese seperate? Off to the side? You mix your teal in with the mallards? Sorry so many questions but i gotta know you ways man haha
Outdoor Limits yeah good hide 😂 that’s a problem at our private club the cover sucks yet they won’t let me and my dad fix it birds don’t work for crap we mostly shoot teal and spoonies cuz if it
Outdoor Limits same here in some spots I go to out here in Northern California. I have a spot that’s like 10 minutes from my house that I hear is good timber hunts but it is also part of a nice pond where ducks dump like to land. So I’m thinking of buying me one of these kayaks for next years hunts and try to see how I do it there.
9:12 a spider thought it woudl be a cool idea to come crawlin up my mouse cord right in my light, legit jumped out of my chair and freaked out, had turned on my flashlight to find it, once i did, heckin fried that sucker... spooky stuff mayne....
What kayak are you using? How do you get your decoys out at the water with you? I dont have a boaters license or the money for a boat. I think having a kayak would make do for alot more hunts that i cant do on foot.
@@OutdoorLimits I appreciate the info boss. Hope you have a good season. Best of luck from Arkansas! Cold front just pushed in today and our opener is in the morning, hopefully gonna be a shootout.
It's great how honest you are. You miss a shot or 2 and you just own it. Thanks for the cool vids!
Such an adrenaline rush when they come in cupped up perfect like that.
I love it
Feels like 9 degrees
Josh: is only in a hoodie
🤘
Guessing that Sitka works pretty well

The best part of this video is that there is not one other hunter in the lot. Good hunt, Josh! Looked fun!

love the felling of big groups of mallards in your face! no better feeling especially on a solo hunt.
That’s an awesome hunt to watch. Perfect conditions in my opinion. And just slaying the birds that you hardly have to call in. Good job man
It was pretty awesome! It's all about the weather
Great video. It's nice to see a nice, solo, hunt by someone so passionate about the birds. Great job
I love the set up with the kayak. They decoyed awesome!
To me these are your best videos
Great weather. Great spot. Great shoot. Great video. Those mallards wanted to sit. Next time let ‘em and you’ll get better shots and even quicker limits. 👍
Man that was sweet! I can't wait to get out this week... That live chat thing is pretty cool.
Great hunt. Thanks for posting this. Inspiring and I like your kayak set up.

Missed the solo kayak hunts man
Me too
Nice! I'm hoping to do my first goose hunt this year. We have tons of water bowl in Nebraska.
They sure worked nice. Couple of those groups were pretty good sized too.
Couldn't ask for anything more!
love the solo and farm pond hunts... great vid!

I need weather like this down in Texas please. We've had nothing but clear skies and no wind.
Mitch Droese I can second that
This last sunday we had good wind but clear skies in dfw area.
Stick In there dude! Love the kayak huntin!
Me too!
Must be nice that you can shoot that many mallards. Here on the Atlantic flyaway were only aloud two, geese also. Man I miss the old days
They did it dirtyyy! Still waiting for these cold fronts to come here in CO. Good shooting, you finally know how to shoot lol.
My favorite title to see 🔥

I whiffed on a few here too! LOL
That was a great day . This coming Saturday is our regular open season going to scout tomorrow .
it sure was a fun one!
That big group was awesome!!
I thought all the mallards are here in Arkansas nice to see they aren’t all here yet
not yet!
Heheheh ready to slay them in about 8 hours. Stuttgart

@@coltencarlson6984 awesome. Thank you
Sweet hunt but why we only get 4 mallard limit here in Michigan tho 🤔 jelly
Same here in Missouri. We can only shoot 4 mallards, 2 which could be hens
Lucky, we can only shoot 2 mallards in Georgia.
Its to save some ducks for us down here in texas.
What cover do you have on your kayak trying to get a new one
3:55 he almost flew in your barrel haha awesome setup
Rogers beanie looks super warm!
Only like $15 for that and a neck gator on their website

Awesome hunt! Can’t wait for the next big push here in western Iowa. November has definitely been slow as can be.
It's been pretty slow here as well. We need another good push
How do you set your spread? I’m looking and can’t figure out the pattern to it but it definitely works!?!? Just looking for some pointers🦆🦆🦆
That big group tho 👀👀
Oh yeah. I wish my other friends could have come with me
Outdoor Limits like me.....lol
Shit I’d be happy to tag along. Nice hunt bro
Cold front pushing through Utah as we speak 🤙🏻

What’s your thoughts josh? What is the best tasting duck? Wood duck? Teal? Mallard?
Looks like a great day, congrats! What kind of call are you using? Can you add a link in description
What state are you hunting in?
have you ever had any truly scary scenarios out their?
May i know what kind of kayak is that you are using in this video? and the folding blind is part of this kayak or some add one? thank you.
Awesome video like always! Keep up the good work!
Yo send some of those a little further south! Ready and waiting here in central Kansas!!!

You are on fire!!!! Great videos!!! 🦆

Nice mallards bro 🦆
smashed 4 mallards yesterday, it was Good!! damn, good looking bird.
SWEET!!!
Oh you could have stoned that mallard hovering over the decoys at 6:07
yep. I usually pick one in a group as they come in and then pull up on it. that one could have also been a hen. I'm not sure at this point
Outdoor Limits that’s why I thought you didn’t shoot it
Great video just found your channel. I actually make calls. So this is right up m y alley. Keep them comin
Nice work!! Mallards!! Bro!!!
Great job just one question What duck calls you use it. Very realistic
I wish I could decoy Birds like that
Just need to be patient and have a good hide
Outdoor Limits yeah good hide 😂 that’s a problem at our private club the cover sucks yet they won’t let me and my dad fix it birds don’t work for crap we mostly shoot teal and spoonies cuz if it
Epic work dude
That’s awesome man!
Been waiting for a new video. 🔥🔥
I’m sure you have been asked 1,000 times but what kayak do you use? trying to get Into the yak game.
That beanie looks super warm. What kind is it?
which do you like to use more the kayak or canoe?
Good stuff! Looks like a nice spot to hunt
It can be hit or miss. Usually cold front days are pretty good

I'm new to this. How come our limit here in the Adirondacks is 2 mallards with only one hen. How come you guys get to shoot 6?
Good hunt man!! What shotgun were you using?
How are you shootings with a life jacket on? Noticed you weren’t wearing one in this video though... thanks
What day was this video shot? Its been over a week since we've had a front in Louisiana.
Awesome video! Man that mallard at 6:07 was just fluttering over the dekes. Congratulations on the limit!
Awesome hunt... doinnnn it dirttayyy
Was gonna order a few thing from ur site but u only have up to 2 x!! R u gonna get bigger sizes?
The mallards are here in Montana
Great hunt! How far you typically find yourself having to paddle to get to your spots? Got some i paddle a mile to it!
most of the time i try to keep it less than a mile
Awesome hunt!!
man brother some of those misses were probably because you were calling at them when you should have been shooting! lol great video though man!
Great viddy buddy
Hell Yeah Buddy! Good Stuff
9:12 a spider thought it woudl be a cool idea to come crawlin up my mouse cord right in my light, legit jumped out of my chair and freaked out, had turned on my flashlight to find it, once i did, heckin fried that sucker... spooky stuff mayne....
Just getting into your vids and love them. What kind of blind you have on your kayak?
Glad to have you here! I use the redhead kayak blind from bass pro
Amazing video as usual... which shells are you shootings? They all sure were killed cleanly..
Black cloud #2
Y’all r lucky. Here in VA we can only get 2 mallards
that must not be very fun..
What type of beanie do you have on? I’ve been trying to find one like that
Rogers Sporting Goods
Limited out!
Great video!!
His definition of big water and mine are quite different.
what duck call are you using here?
What kayak are you using? How do you get your decoys out at the water with you? I dont have a boaters license or the money for a boat. I think having a kayak would make do for alot more hunts that i cant do on foot.
I use an Old Town Topwater 120 and I just load the decoys on the back storage area of the kayak
@@OutdoorLimits I appreciate the info boss. Hope you have a good season. Best of luck from Arkansas! Cold front just pushed in today and our opener is in the morning, hopefully gonna be a shootout.
What’s your favorite shotgun to hunt with
Is their a difference in that kayak and a pirogue? I’m just curious. Those ducks legs look almost red. Lol
A pirogue is a flat bottomed canoe. Usually made out of fiberglass or cypress wood
Great vid bud keep it up👍👍
lol that duck was not pooping..
Gotta hunt the front bro!
for sure!
