Been following the game for a while now. It's definitely what I've always wanted from a game like Minecraft, with a more "all-in" approach to its voxelized style, like Teardown. And because i do make voxel art myself on a similar scale to the one the game adopts, I can already see myself loving these mechanics. It's peak
I find that hunger bars keep you from wandering as far as you want to be near food. And if you can wander far and still get food easily, then it's likely not a worthy hunger system as it provides no additional value or challenge.
vintage story lets you bring bring decent amounts of food with you by attaching crockpots with food to your mount , even if you can forage along the way as you will likely only find berries and maybe a couple animals if lucky you will not have great macronutrients in the food you eat and will not have as much max HP as if you bring homecooked meal with more diverse food groups , so you can go far away and forage along the way but normally I bring the berries home to as they spoil quickly and fermenting them into several liquors is the best way to preserve their calories for winter where food is hard to get and you need to store you cellar with longer lasting foods
On the contrary, a hunger system could also force you to keep wandering if you are getting most of your food from foraging. As was the case with our ancestors before we invented farming.
You should actually play vintage story, the crafting is similar. The screen shot you showed is either outdated or just wrong, there is some 3x3 crafting but you need to build things like bloomerys to or forges to make the items, the 3x3 crafting is more to assemble things than anything
No way my man could preview this game... I followed tooley for years and this is on my wishlist for sure❤💙💛 Greetings from Germany, thank your for helping small developers grow
I'm glad that artists are able to get financial support for continued development so they can focus primarily on creating art for the world to enjoy instead of losing sleep working two jobs and not able to pay the fees required to exist in any reasonable standard of decency or wellness.
I love the devlog scene and I have watched Lay Of The Land being developed. I like to optics and from what I've seen I also like the voxel mechanics. But I have not played it myself. Among the many devlogs I've watched, so far there is only one game I actually started playing after watching the devlog. It's Village Of Origins made by the UA-cam channel Taiga Shore Studios. I really enjoy the interaction with the developer and the game is fun too. It has a really unique take which I have not seen before. I think I'm the only person who has made content on it besides the developer himself. So I like to promote his game a little as it is quite underappreciated.
Would you be interested in covering the currently unreleased create aeronautics mod aka the create simulated project? It looks very interesting and I would love to know more outside of the official discord.
then don't and wait for the steam release? nothing wrong with asking for such a small amount of money for a product one person put hours of his life into, or just to support development..
Guy’s gotta make a living somehow… Plus it’s not like the game isn’t gonna come out eventually. Like, financing stuff like this is the entire point of patreon to begin with, so I fail to see what’s “ew” here lol

@FakeGuthix01 that's not how it works in most games though. In most "survival" games, hunger is just another bar to fill.

Hmmm would be cool, i might
hey idk if u know this but ur discord link isn’t working :(
good game
I think the crafting is not great at all, i would like, at least in VR, if you had to position items in certain configurations in 3D to build them.
Thats not a bad idea tbh, maybe suggest it in the chat
@Cygnus_MC What chat?

Sorry, but no. Paying for game is fine. Subscribing on patreon for a single player indie project? Ew.
