The lightning in this game looks cozy Looking foward to the future of this game Games like this and vintage Story might create a new subgenre to the sandbox games
I haven't personally tried that game yet, but considering this game is developed by one person, is in pre-alpha, and Vintage Story has been out since 2016, I'm pretty impressed. I think this game can go far very quickly, and I don't think the two can really be compared.
@OneTanny22 if you think this game looks interesting then I would definitely give Vintage Storya try. It even starts the same where pick up sticks, reeds and flint. Also has a pixel by pixel building system.
The sunrises in this game are so beautiful, in fact, the whole aesthetic and shading of this game is. Nice to see you cover it, very impressed with what I've seen of it so far :)
Looks like a fantastic game already. Have seen several people playing and it really has an atmosphere, and the most amazing thing is it is being developed by only one person. Would love to see a series of episodes from you.
Hello Which graphic card did you use to record the vidéo ? Will you add multiplayer in the future ? Will you let us try an alpha version ? When do you think you'll have finished the game ? Good job I love it
Haha I didn't make the game 😂 I'm no where near good enough to do that. I left links in the description to the guy that did! Check them out, you can get early access by supporting on Patreon or Ko-Fi.
This is my perfect voxel game, the game I imagined in my head when I think of voxels The only real problem I have is that the voxel size consistency is off, the tools voxels are smaller than the environment. It’s not a big deal realistically tbh but it still kind of bothers me 😭 But it’s PRE-ALPHA and it still looks amazing, so no judgement here!!! 😄
Love the voxal thing. Looks great, really hope when full game is released that it comes to xbox, would love to play this. Deffo keep playing it please, not that you sound like you need much convincing lol. Enjoyed muchly 😊😊
Pre-alpha and it's already looking very promising. I'd like to see more of this game, but i'd also understand if there's only one or two more episodes worth of content in the game right now - i can't imagine they've focused too much on variety of content if it's super early in development. Either way, this looks worth keeping an eye on. Thank you for this!
Glad you enjoyed the video! - I'm definitely gonna try and get as much content out of this as possible! I'm really enjoying it, and indeed very promising! 😁
I like it because I feel like you can go all out when it comes to details if you want to, or you can go the simple route. I'll do more building in the future showing that off in this series! 😁
the graphics look really good i love how its pixelated but more than minecraft so it makes the terrain flow better less jagged. i dont like the crafting though throwing things on the ground to craft looks ehhhhhh, it would be better if it was like the crafting in the forrest you open up a blanket and its all there. what happens if a bad guy comes upon you while your inventory is spilled on the ground . you just gotta leave it there? how long till it despawns? it could be much better
I personally love the crafting, very different and unique. And I actually like that danger, where you need to make sure you can craft in peace, it adds an extra layer of not so much difficulty, but game mechanic.
Vintage story has reviews and a refund policy. Its not in steam so that they can gove you a longer return window due to the rate of progression being much slower than minecraft, the developers want you to have time to experience the basic elements of the game. You should give that game a try and for $20 its worth the money and time.
Haven't actually checked the CPU and GPU stats while playing, I should try that next time! It does run pretty well I'd say, considering it's in pre-alpha though.
I am actually running this on Linux using Proton, and on Steam there is a section for Steam OS/Linux in the system requirements section, so I will assume so! :)
It actually doesn't - Minecraft is simply a 3D title with textured ‘cubes’ and the world is generated using a search tree. Voxels are specifically, volumetric pixels, meaning each pixel has a 3D coordinate. So from my understanding, a block with blocky 3D character, which is textured by a mesh, isn't voxels. So there is quite a big difference in how the entire game will function because of this actually!
@BinaryVigilante the textures are rendered as polygons, but the information stored that is used in worldgen and chunk info is voxel-based. So in short, the textures that Minecraft presents to you are loaded as voxels but represented as polygons
@BinaryVigilantefrom Wikipedia: "In Minecraft, players explore a procedurally generated, three-dimensional world with virtually infinite terrain made up of voxels."
@fiko2390 there's no such thing as "real" voxels. If videos are present, even if you choose to believe that it needs to be a physically represented version of them for that to be "real" instead of "fake", that diets not make a use of them not real
To be honest, the game would be much better if you don't have to drop your items to craft. It just feels messy. Why not just craft from the inventory or from a workbench? It would already feel different, if you have to "drop" the items on a special place to craft.
I think it's a very nice twist. Every other game has a crafting "table" or inventory, actually putting it on the ground is more realistic, as you are technically working with it, and adds a new spin to it, I should try and do it on a table in the next video! 😁
They are on the steam page :) Link in the description! - Keep in mind though that this is still in early development, and I can imagine that the game will be receiving a lot of performance enhancements down the road! 😄
I just came here to say "pre alpha" doesn't exist. It's like talking about a person before they were conceived... These devs need to chill on their "alpha" stages.
@BinaryVigilante ok, that did not mention when a project is viewed or tested outside of the dev team. That is the crucial part. Before people ruined the term "alpha" on Steam starting around 2014 we knew Beta as being the buggy, rough version of the game that the public could see or test. A "pre alpha" would be something long before "alpha" which often times don't have graphics at all. Just some placeholder objects. Sadly devs promoting an indie game will give it a very early sounding keyword so it LOOKS "really good" for the state it it's in. It's deception.
I don't think they can be compared, they are two (Minecraft and Lay of The Land) very different games, one based on blocks and another based on voxels as they are called, but also one can think of them as pixels. It allows the game to be much more detailed. I don't know much about Vintage Story, will have to check it out!
You could say that about Hytale as well. Just because a game is similar to another game doesn’t mean it can’t be its own thing Vintage story was originally a minecraft mod but look at it now Besides it’s only in pre alpha
This feels like cube world mixed with vintage story. I quite enjoy the voxel design.
Same!
I think of 3D Noita + Minecraft, having Alchemy and material reactions would be extra nice
@@otamatonefan8996You want John Lin's game, not this.
i honeslty thought it was a vintage story video from thumbnail

The lighting is very cozy indeed I love it! 😁 - And yes I think you are right, these games will be making a new subgenre for sure!
This is awesome, vintage story is what y’all are looking for though
Exactly. Vintage Story is so much fun. Ive even made 2 small mods so far. So much stuff to do.

You should definitely give Vintage Story a try@BinaryVigilante
When Tear Down decides to have kids with Minecraft :DD I'm looking forward to this game.
reminds me of vintage story as well
@@danielstarr8957 Sure. But I've never played a Vintage Story before :D

this game is cool as heck. this and vintage story are what i live for
Minecraft is voxel based actually, it just renders the blocks differently but fundamentally its the same as Minecraft, the more you learn 👍

Sooo... vintage story?
Idk why but this made me think of Hytale or at first I though it was a Minecraft modpack but I was wrong lol. Also 10k before the end of the year?
Haha yes Hytale has also crossed my mind, and then I'm amazed at the progress of this game, compared to Hytale 🤣
Idk vintage story still is better
Ya but if we can get that kinda tree cutting in VS I would super happy dude.
@alexanderdooley5833 idk, looks a mess to me and vs cutting try is mor on the efficiency side then anything else
I kinda like that it's a bit of a mess, more challenging and realistic! I think it's a nice twist.
