The Echelon of Foul Spawn (Space Hulk Amiga remix) by Eino & Pyhahenki

Mostly an original composition with instruments grabbed from the Amiga version Space Hulk MOD by Jason A. S. Whitely. Only added instruments are the Strings by Pyhahenki and the saw drone by me. Some revisited melodies from "Briefing" and "Main Theme". This project was launched a long time ago, but was abandoned soon after due to lack of motivation at the time. I just recently dug it up, and got around to mixing and composing some extra sequences. This was a nightmare to mix due to low quality 8 bit mono instruments. Also, because I'm such a noob with mixing it drained most of my energy, leaving less motivation to work with the actual composition and the track remained rather short. Anyways, I hope this will be interesting to listen at least.

I like that bass sound. Incidentally, when played at a high sample rate, it also makes a good lead tone. The same sound was used in Jogeir Liljedahl's "Signia". I wonder who borrowed the sample from whom :) Used to play a lot with these modules in ProTracker.

The sub bass sound starting this track was AFAIK originally used as a second lead in the SH title theme (01:20). At least, it was less common to borrow samples in commercial game music. It was an interesting time, when certain set of samples kind of drifted around back in the days. Lots of amateur songs using same limited samples in different setups.
