Another video that pretends homeboy didn't absolutely abandon his wife to die so he can stand in a tall place for a bit. Crazy that he basically got away with what is failure to provide assistance at the very least and manslaughter at worst.

You're absolutely right it does ... but I've never heard of a husband doing that to a wife. I remember one husband went back up when him and his wife got separated in a storm . He made it down safely and then someone told him his wife was actually still in the mountain he went back up ended up dying trying to save her.. it's so weird he would do that@arielmargaret18

why does no one ever bring up the fact that he was so selfish and ego-driven since HE LEFT HIS WIFE??? There are reports from other climbers that were there that state Maria had been struggling since before they even left camp 3 and attempted to ascend. The other climbers told him his wife wasn't doing well and instead of thinking of her, he's too preoccupied with climbing to the summit. Now he wants to say how sad he is, as if his decisions that day didn't lead to her death. It's absolutely absurd.
There are stories like this all the time where a team member doesn't feel well so the rest of the team returns with them, and yet, with your partner whom you married, you're all right just leaving them in such a precarious position... that's absolutely wild to me
He told her to wait on the mountain for him as he accomplished his dream and she died for it.

Anyone can get altitude sickness. The factors for this are not yet fully known. It's too easy to pin it down to a known factor.
Sure, getting energy for the body is also a big problem at high altitude (especially since digestion is also primarily combustion and therefore requires oxygen).
But I think more of compassion than having to judge others. First and foremost, I feel sorry for the victims.

Just in the last week, a raw vegan influencer starved to death following that lifestyle. Photos of her taken over a 10-year oeriod documented the changes to her body, as it ate itself to makeup for the nutrients it needed but which it wasn't getting from her raw vegan diet. It was sad. Chronic spinal arthritis and degenerative bone disease has become so painless, I no longer rely on ANY form of pain medication. I was taking powerful meds for years. I go walking and climbing in the hills daily in our beautiful English countryside. I have had a definate positive experience becoming vegan...i no longer need a walking stick! My energy levels are through the roof! 💯😆👌

Oxygen percentage at sea level and the death zone is 21%
At sea level the air is highly compressed. So you get more of that 21% oxygen. With the much lower pressure in the death zone, you are getting a tiny fraction of air because it's not under pressure.
It's just the opposite of what happens when you go deep in the ocean. The pressure becomes to high to support human life.
Ask the passengers on the Titan about super high pressure.

I really enjoy your videos and thank you for your efforts. But I have noticed many mistakes in the ones about Everest disasters. It’s mostly small discrepancies but still I‘m wondering because the facts are all out there and easy to access… As an example Rob was not fixing the ropes and there are so many witnesses and books about the story! On that day 8 mountaineers lost their life and not 12. Also they found his body soon after he passed away. Also about Shriya Shah there were many mixups. You should get your facts straight. Still thank you.

When Alison Hargreaves died on K2 there was a great deal of blah blah blah about her being irresponsible because she was a MOTHER…Rob Hall broke his OWN hard and fast rule about heading down the at EXACTLY 2:30 and stayed with a man who couldn’t be saved whilst abandoning his wife who was pregnant. Scott Fischer died that same day there was n big discussion by the media about him being irresponsible for risking his life when he had two kids at home? NOPE notta- one! I’ve watched so many of these shows when male climbers die, and it’s likely many of them had kids. It’s astonishing that in the first quarter of the 21st century these archaic male/female double standards still exist and are perpetuated by the media!
