Another video that pretends homeboy didn't absolutely abandon his wife to die so he can stand in a tall place for a bit. Crazy that he basically got away with what is failure to provide assistance at the very least and manslaughter at worst.

If this was the case a ton of people would be charged. This happens often on mountains.
You're absolutely right it does ... but I've never heard of a husband doing that to a wife. I remember one husband went back up when him and his wife got separated in a storm . He made it down safely and then someone told him his wife was actually still in the mountain he went back up ended up dying trying to save her.. it's so weird he would do that@arielmargaret18
I would never risk my life or the life of my spouse to get to the top of a mountain. Who gives a flying duck! These ppl are legends in their own minds.
To die for over a mountain..does not make sense..
Climbers can develop altitude sickness even after previous ascents were trouble free. That’s baffling.
Windchill, pressure and humidity can all vary at the same height no? think that’s most of what that is
The AI narration is really tiresome. Why doesn't anyone use humans anymore?
I would never have done what Rob did, I would've left that postal worker Doug that had NO business being on Everest behind so fast it would've made his frozen head spin. Huge mistake on Rob's part!
I agree!
Rob was thinking with his heart not head first of all Doug was sick shouldn't have been there . Doug was very selfish that way Rob yes needless Death very Sad I Agree.
I agree. I think altitude sickness clouded his thinking
Rob invited him back after doug failed to summit the first time he went to Everest. He turned him back the first time. I think he felt obligated because he promised him.
why does no one ever bring up the fact that he was so selfish and ego-driven since HE LEFT HIS WIFE??? There are reports from other climbers that were there that state Maria had been struggling since before they even left camp 3 and attempted to ascend. The other climbers told him his wife wasn't doing well and instead of thinking of her, he's too preoccupied with climbing to the summit. Now he wants to say how sad he is, as if his decisions that day didn't lead to her death. It's absolutely absurd.
There are stories like this all the time where a team member doesn't feel well so the rest of the team returns with them, and yet, with your partner whom you married, you're all right just leaving them in such a precarious position... that's absolutely wild to me
He told her to wait on the mountain for him as he accomplished his dream and she died for it.
I didnt know Irwin and Odle were with Mallory i always thought it was Dandy Irvine and Odell ....repeating the same error in names about a extremely well known incident ...
Is this thrill seeking or death seeking?!?!!?!!?!😮
YOU LEFT YOUR WIFE. No rewards for that.
Strattonskier7229, Agree!
Your partner feels sick & you continue up without them and ask them to wait?? SMH
The video says Rob Hall's body was found 12 years after the 1996 disaster. His body was found on the 23rd of May, 1996. That's not 12 years, my dude. That's 12 days. Bit of a difference there.
Should have headed down as soon as she felt sick if ya really wanted her to survive dummies so selfish
My thoughts exactly. Why would you leave your wife sick to reach the top of the mountain? Head down immediately and try some other time.
So True Everest will always be there but not your Wife Ok .
Does anyone else see the irony that the Australian woman wanted to climb Mt Everest to prove vegans aren't weak then losing her life on Mt Everest because she was too weak to continue?
Being a vegan probably doesnt have anything to do with it......she did multiple other climbs in the past it was altitude sickness, which can happen to anyone regardless of their diet
Ya the weak vegan woman should have stuck to smaller peaks.
Anyone can get altitude sickness. The factors for this are not yet fully known. It's too easy to pin it down to a known factor.
Sure, getting energy for the body is also a big problem at high altitude (especially since digestion is also primarily combustion and therefore requires oxygen).
But I think more of compassion than having to judge others. First and foremost, I feel sorry for the victims.
(I'm not a vegetarian, but I try to eat in moderation.)
But was able to climb many peaks including denali? What have you climbed?
Her vegan diet probably affected her cognitive abilities at altitude.
if i would die on the mountain, my last wish would be, to use my body as a way sign. that my frozen body holds a sign with directions to the summit and the way down. would be awesome. my other hand does a thumb up
Just in the last week, a raw vegan influencer starved to death following that lifestyle. Photos of her taken over a 10-year oeriod documented the changes to her body, as it ate itself to makeup for the nutrients it needed but which it wasn't getting from her raw vegan diet. It was sad. She wasted away, until she died.
what was her name
She was very clearly anorexic. Her so called "vegan" lifestyle was only an excuse to feed her illness.

@Vlasko60
that's a terrible general assumption to make dude.
It's 💯 because we don't eat meat or any other animal parts! I'm 52 and healthiest I've ever been...my plant based diet started 4 years ago. . Chronic spinal arthritis and degenerative bone disease has become so painless, I no longer rely on ANY form of pain medication. I was taking powerful meds for years. I go walking and climbing in the hills daily in our beautiful English countryside. I have had a definate positive experience becoming vegan...i no longer need a walking stick! My energy levels are through the roof! 💯😆👌
Rob Hall did not fix the ropes on the Hillary Step. Anatoli Boukreev did.
Andy Harris was not the leader. He was the third guide for Halls team.
In 1995, Hall turned around his clients at the South Summit due to snow conditions not due to the weather.
Didn't the bloke called Neal help with the team as well??
Yes he did. He and Anatolia fixed the ropes @@mrkipling2201
Anatoli@@mrkipling2201
My man you don’t leave a loved one in that condition…..turn around it’ll always be there if you wanna go back!!
Leaving his wife was so selfish.
The higher you go the less human you become
He didn’t know she was that sick at the time.
Summit fever is real. There was another video on the topic that suggested he probably had it. Its where you want to use everything you got to get up. But dont think about going down
It's not tragic, they CHOSE to put their lives at risk, they KNEW the risks.
Human beings are not built for that altitude, it conspires tto kill you, even acclimated experienced climbers can succumb
Some humans are. During the 1996 disaster, Anatoli summited without oxygen supplies, made it to Camp 4, them climbed back to rescue a bunch of people.
I’d stay TF away from Everest it’s cursed.
Oxygen percentage at sea level and the death zone is 21%
At sea level the air is highly compressed. So you get more of that 21% oxygen. With the much lower pressure in the death zone, you are getting a tiny fraction of air because it's not under pressure.
It's just the opposite of what happens when you go deep in the ocean. The pressure becomes to high to support human life.
Ask the passengers on the Titan about super high pressure.
Robert is such a horrible selfish person, I hope he understands what a bastar** he was for leaving his wife with alt sickness. like how moronic can you be to not identify it? he wasnt a newbie! i pray i never have a partner like that in my life, gosh it is so selfish i am speechless!
Please stop a little. And please think about your language. Otherwise, it can be so repulsive that it is difficult to understand.
.
Robert will annoy himself enough. And his grief is to be respected.
Who are we to judge others? What can we even know? A little more caution and consideration would certainly not go amiss, would it?
Overly strong beliefs and feelings can also impair judgment.
All the best!
@user-li7ec3fg6h what? No. I'm sorry. In my mind he let his wife die
When he gets older…. Or even now….. what is higher than any mountain in the world what is higher than Mount Everest, higher than any peak of any in comparison….. makes all mountains look like ant hills….!
Conquering ourselves ! Living in the service of life, knowing God. Even in our dreams, God takes us higher than any mountain, hovering over the clouds, showing us some of our future and past.!
And not to lose our lives, climbing up and anthill! for we are always climbing in the service of life
I really enjoy your videos and thank you for your efforts. But I have noticed many mistakes in the ones about Everest disasters. It’s mostly small discrepancies but still I‘m wondering because the facts are all out there and easy to access… As an example Rob was not fixing the ropes and there are so many witnesses and books about the story! On that day 8 mountaineers lost their life and not 12. Also they found his body soon after he passed away. Also about Shriya Shah there were many mixups. You should get your facts straight. Still thank you.
The only thing tragic is the misuse of the people that call the mountain home, it’s proven deadly but human arrogance keeps visitors coming back. The way ya’ll have just completely misused these people and their last it’s what’s tragic!!
When Alison Hargreaves died on K2 there was a great deal of blah blah blah about her being irresponsible because she was a MOTHER…Rob Hall broke his OWN hard and fast rule about heading down the at EXACTLY 2:30 and stayed with a man who couldn’t be saved whilst abandoning his wife who was pregnant. Scott Fischer died that same day there was n big discussion by the media about him being irresponsible for risking his life when he had two kids at home? NOPE notta- one! I’ve watched so many of these shows when male climbers die, and it’s likely many of them had kids. It’s astonishing that in the first quarter of the 21st century these archaic male/female double standards still exist and are perpetuated by the media!
A 77 year old woman has climbed Everest.
After watching loads of these it seems to be stupid arrogant people who are killed on Everest nowadays.
What, exactly,is the point of climbing Mt. Everest? Aside from an ego-boost doing so is utterly ridiculous - and a needless risk of illness or death.
It is Balcony which comes first & then comes South Summit when climbing up...
I highly suggest you work on your reading skills. The words you emphasize in sentences often sound unnatural and aren't something you'd hear in conversation.
I will never understand the need these climbers have to make these terribly difficult climbs risking there lives for what. Makes no sense to me. Its just not worth it
"That didn't recover him" is incorrect. It "didn't allow him to recover" makes more sense.
This was written by AI wasn't it .. the repetition is irritating.
Yes, I feel like some of it doesn't make sense and is hard to follow. It feels like listening to a Google translation of the story.
The spelling of Mistery for example!! It's mystery!!
I especially enjoyed the “Hillary Top” until now, I had always believed it was called the “Hillary Steppe”
Just a complete waste.. Imagine if that energy was put into something constructive..
Spelling is so important especially when you are trying to convince people you are a professional. MYSTERY not mistery! Sorry but I have always been padantic about spelling and such a glaring mistake is actually unacceptable if we are all being totally honest.
Same here. I was looking for a comment that noticed that.
Thank you very much for the insightful reporting. Without malice and know-it-all attitude, as unfortunately happens all too often. I have great respect for all people and their projects. And always wish them a safe return home! 😊
(Some Sherpas have their own channels and you can learn a lot there. And they always appreciate good wishes. 😊😊)
People should not take risks to their lives and expect rescue.
Cheers, great video mate. 👍🏼
Nobody tackle evrest or k2 or any 8000+m peaks even he is sherpa they are also in danger so dont be stupid humans why scientists has say that death zone uh can't understand that fucking litle advice😢 rip to all those lives ❤😢
@;37 & 9:00--- that's not Everest - -- that's Ama Dablam. Everyone who dies on these mountains never train in low oxygen how to get down this mountain.
Rip all
Rob didn't fix the ropes
69 too old to do this
Great video
Why would you even want to climb the bastard
I watch this type of videos all the tyme and i always ask myself, why would anyone climb up there or dive at the bottom of the ocean. Especially if they do it just for fun
Because it's there?
I hope that Doug Hansen was really proud of himself by taking advantage of Rob Hall's kindness. Because of his selfish need to reach the top of Everest, Rob ultimately lost his life for absolutely nothing. Well done...
Rob Hall didn’t strike me as a man who could be made to do anything he didn’t want to. Rob was the person in charge HE should have insisted they go back then they’d both be alive.
@@Aspasia2929 That's also true.
Please dont make a vedios like u r praising there bad decision this will make more teens we have lost
They say the hardest part about climbing Everest is stepping over all the dead bodies and women.
Huh ? Woman have nothing to do with this
It mainly just the bodies. Idk why you added women tho, kinda weird
This is a pretty woke channel.
🤪
Bro what
@@billybob501don't ask his a magatard.
All of them true heroes
NOPE. Nobody who climbs mountains, aside those rescuing the idiots getting stuck up there, are heroes. They’re narcissists. Or they climb 2500m peaks and chill the fuck out. There’s no need to get 8km in the sky on foot, that’s nonsense.
Not really
Why not?
@@hensolo3262 because it’s too difficult for everyone else to come get them when they screw up. That’s not what “heroes” do.
