I've made numerous attempts to summit on all the 8000+meters mountains but never made it past the planning phase. I've settle for photoshopping myself on each of the summits. The money I saved, I used on getting myself a new puppy name Loki. He believes I have summited those mountains and thinks I'm awesome and the best mountaineer.
Plus you won't have proclaimed your love for the beauty and respect for a mountain and then leave all your oxygen tanks and garbage and human waste behind when you're done w/it. Good luck w/your new puppy. I'm glad you have each other.
My dog seems to be under the impression Im a slave. Tonight Im gonna start gaslighting her to believe Im a bigshot explorer for national geographic. Maybe then I can get a little respect.
I learn a lot on youtube. How to do my own brakes, diagnosing an electrical issue on my motorcycle and much more but 3 lessons rise above all others. Don't go rock climbing with someone you don't know... Don't keep going up the mountain when experienced mountaineers are going down. and the biggest one of all. Never under any circumstances NEVER go Cave Diving.
A great mother doesn't take herself away from her children for her own selfish goals. She might have been a great climber, but she can't be any type of mother if she isn't there.
Really? What about the men who leave their wives to go after mountains and dying in the attempt? But no one calls them bad fathers. I admire her for going after her dreams.
Stop calling them brave! These are people with a lot of disposable income and an ego so big it overrode basic survival instinct. Sherpas are brave because they do this to feed their family. The others are just a-holes.
I don’t see how it’s such an amazing thing that some wealthy people donated an exorbitant amount of 74,000 to get the body. I didn’t know him but most unselfish people (before he died) would never want anyone to spend their hard earned money or risk their lives to retrieve his body after he’s died. Many would even suggest that this is where he would want to be laid to rest. I don’t understand the resources and lives risked to get a corpse out. I don’t mean disrespect because I’m sure it is awful for the families. However what were the wishes of the deceased? Perhaps $74,000 could be used to look for those who are missing currently -who still might be alive -think of how much could be done for the people who still have hope?
To you it's just a corpse, not to them. A decent burial is what his loved ones needed for closure. It's their money, they're not the cause of the world's problems. $74,000 wouldn't even make a dent on the misery. Let them grieve in piece.
@@nteemamuzandu7700 you’re absolutely right. Thank you for showing me that viewpoint. Nothing like the jackass online directing strangers on how to spend their money during unbelievable trauma (me… I’m the Jackass)
K2 is supposed the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. It is apparently a far deadlier mountain to climb than Everest. More climbers have died on K2 trying to get to the top than they have on Mount Everest.
I love these phrases praising these deceased mountaineers. "They were adventurous souls, "brave" "masters of the mountains," "fearless"," always be remembered as a hero"...etc. The bottom line is that, sooner or later, mother nature takes over and you can only cheat death so many times. How is the one woman a hero, as well. She made foolish decisions and ended up leaving her 2 kids as orphans!
This guy is definitely the greatest story teller. I think everyone in this video would be very happy to see how this man recounted their legacies 😢 Big Respect
Alison Hargreaves’s body has never been found, I don’t know where the narrator got that from. She comes from the same part of the U.K. I do, she was like a local climber, so I remember this accident happening and know the story well.
@mexxicokitty I thought he lost his business, so she went to get sponsors & climb it to make money? That's just what a video claimed idk whats true. Lol.
There was another video about her. My understanding was they mortgaged their home so she could climb mountains to make money. He ended up getting his business foreclosed on to finance her travels.
That’s a nightmare…you are in the death zone and can not stay there too long…a storm is so strong that descending will blow you from the mountain ..you r pinned in the death zone…to die if the storm doesn’t lie down. What a sport..isn’t it?
They build Alison up as this heroine and I just keep thinking a hero is not selfish or narcissistic. Sadly this is how I see her and all those who give up families to pursue their dream... With all that being said, I do not walk in Alison's shoes so it is not for me to pass judgement on her choices. Her choices were not my choices. And what a sad ending...
I read that Alison was forced to climb due to hers being the only, or major part of family income. If that is true, it's really sad. My thoughts are, you need to be just as mentally prepared as physically. RIP
WTF Why do you try to make these people out as heroes? For gods sake that Alison gal had two young kids now without a mother. As far as I’m concerned she abandon them for this more than a little dangerous so called sport. One in four people die attempting this climb and she has young kids that need a mother. Obviously she must not have been much of a mother. Here’s an idea. Try playing Russian Roulette next time. Your odds are better! Call it as it is. Selfish neglect when it effects other people and it always does in some way, shape or form!
Unless these climbers are doing their climbs backwards, blind, without arms and legs and all to raise money for some worthy cause, they hardly deserve the title "hero" - as the narrator often referred to them. In fact, many who die/get into serious trouble had no right being on K2 and such peaks to begin with. Many are unqualified, spoiled, trust-fund babies who, when they wind up stuck, hurt or dead, put the lives of others at risk trying to save them/recover their corpses. Zero sympathy - just leave these peaks to the qualified Sherpas.
I agree, it counts as a selfish personal accomplishment at best. If done for charity it would be a noble cause, but hardly heroic. Risking ones life for someone who has little to no hope of life is heroic.
You sure use the word Conquering a lot. I don't know a single mountaineer who has climbed since the 60's until now who would say they conquered the mountain. The mountain was there 1000 generations before any of us were born and 1000 generations after we are all dead it will still be there. Nobody is conquering the mountain only their own self perceived limitations. To say otherwise is disrespectful.
One last thing and a note to the narrator: I had to check out after about 5 minutes of listening to you narrate this video. Mate, you've overdosed on adjectives and hyperbole and melodrama. Goodness, I've never heard such a bunch of over-blown statements.
Mountain is not savage & killer or any other stupid names given by stupid people’s .. its an ordinary mountain from many others all over the world.. mountain never sending invitations for anyone’s to come climbing on it.. people’s going by their own choose..
So many words, so little information.

Great idea!!!!!! I think it's beautiful there. But won't catch my prissy butt n that environment on any of the tallest mountains
Seems the smarter decision. And Loki thanks you SO MUCH for your selfless decision to remain with him. 💜

UA-cam University teaches you a lot
Was the narrative written by ai too? It repeats itself alot.
The narrator makes it sound like a comedy - parody of History Channel's Mountain Men! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
This narrator sounds like he writes fanfiction or romance novels. 🤣 You don't need that many adjectives.
Gimp
Yeah, it's painful to listen to.
He really wants u to think these people were doing something great instead of The real story ppl frezzzzzzing to death unbelievable
Adjectives lives matter!

Because it's there ! has taken so so many life's!
13:56 ... "The storm's intensity intensified."😆 Come. On.
Died while attempting to show bravery = stupidity
Why is Alison always mention as a mother of 2; don't men leave their families?
But alas! The guy was an idiot! Fate had other plans! 😂🤣😂😂🤣😂 BUT ALAS!
Why are people praised for doing stupid things?
IS THIS IS A SATIRE OF MOUNTAIN MEN?
Whts so incredible about freezing 🥶 to death on a mountain …..for wht ????

K2 is supposed the second highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. It is apparently a far deadlier mountain to climb than Everest. More climbers have died on K2 trying to get to the top than they have on Mount Everest.
It is due to mainly its weather & constant avalanches.
There us also nowhere to take a break due to its steepness from ground to summit.
Annapurna and K2 are the most difficult and deadliest mountains of all.
I love these phrases praising these deceased mountaineers. Playing Russian roulette at the top of the world is not an accident. Alison was an egotistical narcissist who left her children without a mother.
agree...even mortgaged their home and eventually foreclosing on her husband's business just so she can her fun
From the mountain top she should of shouted to her children, " Sucks to be you to have a selfish mother like me!. Good luck, kids!"

Same can be said for the men. Alison was not a heroine; just a brave woman determined to do what she loved, as do the men.
Destiny is cruel but fair.

I don't like to speak ill of the dead, but with her hair covered Alison Hargreaves kind of looks like Alex Jones.

Mamma always said "Stupid is as Stupid Does,"
The background music is not necessary, and is distracting. It doesn’t even complement the story.
This is horrible...most of the pictures and video aren't anywhere near K2..pine trees and bushes???
I've seen several videos from the same channel about mountains other than Everest & they show Green Boots?
I like AC/DC, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, probably a few others from the 70's.

There are no trees on K2s slopes. Just saying.
