New here. That dresser was a bargain.unreal. looking forward to get to know you. Its great that you are appreciative of all those period features and character..One piece of advise is not to rush what to change or get rid of ..studying alot on interiors I once read that A house has wants..it will tell you. ;)...I love how roxy followed too up the stairs ..so adorable. Then showed her pleasure at the new home. I WAS SCREAMING CONVERTED WHEN YOU WERE THINKING.what stands out for me is the light from the windows. I would do anything to safeguard this!!ohh Btw..so funny that the kitchen table was on a ship.Q&A ..how far are you from local shops cafe etc/how did you pay for the house/neighbours ? Wildlife? :D..Thank you for the tour!!

My grandmother told me that when she lived on the farm when my dad was a little boy that they had a shower in the utility for the men to wash up when they came in from the fields... so they wouldn't drag their field dirt through the house. I would put the shower head on a hose and use it to wash the dog. The shower walls will keep the mess contained when the dog shakes. 💖🌞🌵😷

I personally would change the kitchen door to open inwards into the kitchen, especially if it stays open most of the time. That will free the entrance a lot, but you will still have the option to close it. It will work, because when it is open (most of the time as you said) it will open towards the built-in fridge!

What a truly beautiful home! Little idea for the living room just now would be to move the smaller sofa and the armchair to a different part of the house, move the remaining sofa so it sits more central on the wall, looking out of your beautiful window. Get a couple of ercol wooden type chairs, perhaps a rocking one and adorn with pretty cushions and throws for comfort, add a nice big rug too. My advice, don’t follow trends , let the building guide and tell you what is needed/ not needed. It’s a beautiful home as it is, that’s why you bought it . Have fun in your new home, best wishes!

I love your home. I would definitely put fixing the leak in the shower at the top of my list and then maybe doing the hearth. I'm not sure about changing those beautiful doors in the bedroom to make it look like a wall or adding a built in pantry in the kitchen. It's your home so you do what makes you happy but your house has so much character just the way it is. I can't wait to see the gardens. I just stumbled upon your channel this morning so I'm going to search for your garden tour.

I would put the duvet on the guest bed for now and use the shower in the guest bedroom. I would immediately stop showering where it is leaking. Water can be damaging electrical and causing mold behind walls. Did you decide to not have a dedicated office in this house? The home is absolutely stunning and I am so proud for you both.

Lovely home and it seems to suit you both perfectly! And the animals! I think the smaller dresser from the kitchen (that you wanted to move) would be great in the bedroom with the bathroom. It could hold linens/towels and supplies. The top could have books and plants, etc. And you could paint it to compliment the wallpaper! Or paint. So much fun on the planning and redecorating. Absolutely beautiful! For adding storage to the kitchen I would recommend doing more furniture pieces rather than built ins. Modern built ins will look less quality than the old wooden kitchen cabinets, and built ins in general modernize the space. Historically built ins are not really used, it’s a lot more dressers and shelves and racks.

There are under bed plastic or wood storage units so since you like higher bed, get bed risers, buy under bed storage for linens, towels, bedding, seasonal clothes etc....add bed ruffle and all is tidy and ready in each bedroom. Usually can fit 4 to 6 storage units under each bed ...giving you lots more space in closets and drawers.

I think the hallway and kitchen would look gorgeous with terracotta tiles on the floor. I also think it’s always an option it stitch the dining room and the living room as the living room is so long. This is probably a weird suggestion but I’d turn the shower in the utility into a dog bath or just take it out. I would probably pick a color that feels a bit more country cottage and traditional for the kitchen cabinets, like a cottage blue or a dusty blue. It would go nicely with the beautiful wood countertop as well, and wouldn’t be dark so you still get a lot of natural light reflection. And perhaps change the light fixtures over the island. Some touches feel like 1950s additions to a beautiful cottage home. I like the idea of peeling back the layers a bit, and restoring the original feel and vibe. Beautiful home!

It's the dream house!!! So happy for you guys!
In my humble opinion , one of the things that I see for shure working it's to open the living room and incorporate the corredor to the living. Will be lovely, and still cozy!
And of cours go for the wall paper, especially for the wall infront of the window... and a lovely pastel color landscape frame on the bed wall...

Your new home is beautiful.....enjoy! My thoughts...turn the downstairs bathroom into a laundry room you could even keep the toilet with a short wall for privacy add plants on the top of the short wall use the laundry tub for washing your hands. Turn the existing beautiful laundry room into the built in glass door pantry. Especially with beautiful stone wall in there. Awesome. Oh ps...leaving the wooden floors as they are in the living room, floors show the life of a home.

My unsolicited opinion would be to make the leaks a priority. You don’t want rotted wood or worse, mold. I’m in the U .S…. But what a gorgeous home you have! It is very beautiful and has so much charm! Enjoy your forever home. 🙂❤️

Since you mentioned not needing 4 bedrooms, perhaps you could knock down the north wall and make a larger master bedroom, give yourself some room to move around the King bed.

Even the cracked glass in the window in the third bedroom is added charm. Thank you for sharing your home. You have such a beautiful home and the way you decorated it is just lovely. Since you were asking for recommendations for the renovation: Maybe you could knock out the wall between the living room and the hallway. Like open plan living. I saw Three Birds Renovations doing it and it really transformed the space. Greetings from Germany! :)
