Series1… string from spare wheel is to tie your jerry can upright. The holed angle iron at the tow hitch is a, wait for it……. a tow hitch or ‘drawbar’ for agricultural implements like chain harrows and rollers, zigzag harrow and/or seeder, or even a trailed plough. Implements without wheels were often attached to the drawbar using a U shackle with a drawbar pin and Lynch-pin or bolt and nut through the holes rather than a pin threaded into the shackle. Some ‘wide' implements needed to be offset for various reasons, hence the various choice of hole across the width.
Best channel for Land Rover content , Simon you have a way about you that is just so compelling to watch and listen too , honestly I love your videos with all your whossh and shhhhhhhh and various other noises 🤣🤣🤣, and all completely natural. Ps I haven’t forgotten I must bring my 22 year old 236k Mile L322 to you so we can chat about 22 years of daily use and ownership 👍🏻
Thanks for taking us along with you - glad the weather was nice and dry! Love the P38 but my father bought an Epsom Green 2.5 DSE one new from Ottons, Old Sarum, Salisbury - it struggled keeping speed uphill if you took your foot off the accelerator for any reason and it had electrical gremlins! I’d have one in a heartbeat
Thanks for doing the video overview, gents. Was hoping to get along there myself but just couldn't make it. Congrats George on the P38. Bit of a step change from the Jimny, I'll bet! Not so sure about the colour coordinated Tuscan blue wheels @24:24, though. But actually quite like the Olive Green wrap for The Stig! 👍

The CSK has always been my favourite Range Rover, right from its launch and it would definitely be a lottery win purchase for me. I do like George’s P38, especially having just purchased a 2002 P38 Vogue SE in black. I need to have a look on your site for new badges, as they’ve been removed from the bonnet, just need to find out what the original colour was. Another great video!
Just had the recovery eyes on my 11 month old Defender 90 replaced under warranty. I never had corrosion on my 2020 Defender’s eyes despite a lot more use recovering other vehicles than the 90 has had. I reckon LR bean counters have cut back on the quality and thickness of the factory applied coating. I’ve put 4 hand applied coats of BuzzWeld no prep wax to the new ones……… also the dealer broke both the recovery eye surround fill ins so have purchased new ones from you. Hi Simon, it was great to meet you at Gaydon on Saturday - and what a beautiful day (much better than the last time I was there). The Stig looks great in green (better in the flesh than on the video) and I do like the Raptor painted bits - well done - very nice 👍 I do think that the green Stig looks better than the LAnd Rover special edition ones - a great choice. I almost missed you at the show as I was looking for a white Stig. 🤣 I do hope George is on a good salary - I dread what the fuel costs will be for his Range Rover - but it looks great and I'm sure he is enjoying it immensly. And, like you, I do hope we can pursuade Christian and Vera to come over for the show next year. 👍

Hello Simon! It is good to see you again only I have been away and then distracted with some news after two friends have passed on in the last two weeks. I’m miles out with videos.🫢🫢 I’m checking with my friend Adam to see if you might have seen his P38 Holland and Holland which he owned for several years and sold about 18 months ago. His had everything including the gun box but when sold, the new owner didn’t want the box so it went on EBay which was a shame. I only saw it on a private plate but it was an X registered car…I’m just wondering if it was George’s car??? Lots of rare land Rovers to see and at last owners who don’t read all the on line anger and rubbish. I’m 1200 miles n on the P400e and all is going well now I have understood when and how to use the PHEV mode…and charge up at home but using SAVE means it drives as an EV for low speed work and for extra performance yet leaves electricity for town work by choice. After 450 petrol miles and helped by the regeneration (free) power, I still had 88% battery left and yet 15% of the miles were all electric. That way the idea works! I like the new Green Stig! It suits it really well and much better than plain white. It would be interesting to do a video on SVO Palette colours…I am constantly being asked about my Petrolix Blue which really glows in sunlight yet looks fairly normal in dull light…it attracts attention at good times and so far, no unwelcome comments! Mudflaps on 2019-22 L494. I have a set from Storm Accessories from Northern Ireland which are described as fitting 2014-22 cars which includes the later ones. I have yet to fit them but a trial offering and they look like they do. They are “no drill” flaps and the rear ones do fit the arch liner holes but I’m still wondering about the fronts…I think they DO need two holes, not three as they use the bottom bolt for one but I have two trim clips and I think they are for drilling…I have not had time to do it yet but will report back if they really work…the contours do fit though! 🤔😬🙂 I will send Destiny pictures etc if and how they fit! I wish I had been able to meet you at the Show but we were in Cornwall again in the sun!!…yes really! Simon thank you…I’m catching up but it has been a strange week…losing old friends is never easy but keeps happening recently and we have few left now…so keep posting the films to help us doddery old souls out…we try not to be doddery though!! 😬🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼😀😀😀😀😀Richard.

Another great video from you and I loved the bit with the Snail I always do the same well done

Great colour choice for the Stig. You could have ended the video with a final shot of the Stig and said "It's a wrap". (I'll get my coat).
