I really hope they update this further so in the event of fire, or even a fire drill, the app on the phone can produce a register of everyone in the building. In previous businesses I worked the systems they had auto opened all doors and sent this register to certain printers (waste of time while the fire marshal waits for the print out in a potentially burning building) when the alarms were triggered. It could double up as a Time grip system logging workers clocking in/out and break times too...so much potential.
Cody great video, I have seen many Unifi access videos, but none have played the access reader pro in keypad mode. Also if you can remotely open the door with your phone?
I am trying to convince the company I work for to replace what we have with this. Wouldn't need much work as it already has hardware installed. Just need to replace the readers on 2 doors. The controller I'm using is ancient and not nearly as easy to use. Thanks for the video and for demonstrating how to set up and use it.
FYI. UniFi Access & Talk is already available for the CloudKey Gen 2 and installed at all my customer sites... Otherwise good video. Best Regards. Chris
Thanks for the overview vid! I'm curious what other data fields are available on the "User" profile? None of the UA-cam reviews go into detail, they just use firstname/lastname. For example in a multi-tenant building, you'd want to include the Unit # or business name for each user.
Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can watch all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last weeks :)
You mentioned that Access Reader Pro will record a short video on to UDMPro, but what if I have UNVR in my network and I don't use the UDMPro hard drive feature, can I configure it somewhere so that these short recordings will go to UNVR ? ( i guess UNVR should also be on the same VLAN with Access Kit ? ) Thank you for the Video by the way, very interesting stuff to learn!
Could we have multiple readers through out a building (rooms we wish to control), but using different UniFi network switches to power readers (use Vlan as you suggested) and one Access Hub under a separate central switch. Or does everyone have to be plugged into the Access Hub? Also it would be nice to be able to use NFC chip on your phone. Nice if video is sent to UNVR. Looking forward to seeing your field install.
Great video! Some things I noticed about the PIN option is that the keypad will randomize number positions over time. I'm assuming this is for security like visible fingerprints on the screen. Also, you must use a eight digit PIN, not four. To get my reader pro screen to "sleep" when not in use, I changed the TOF to about two feet.
can you install 2 hubs to manage 1 door? I have a hub that manages our front door but I have an admin that wants to have the unlock capability at her desk across the room but we cant run a cable from the hub at the front door over to her and would need to be able to install a hub by her desk to manage the unlocking capability to that same door....is this possible?
Cody, You mention if you have a lot of users to get another lite to program the cards. Does this need to be plugged into the HUB or just into the UniFi network and right lan/clan?
You can plug it into a Unifi network switch and it will pick up. In my testing the only thing that didnt work when not plugged into the switch was the lite reader would not do the wave feature
Do you need the PRO style switch to power it up or can the door access be powered by AC POE injector. Similar to the ones that sometimes come included with the Access Points.
Have you tried different NFC cards? Does this accept all different kinds? I know the UI cards are more secure but we have 100 cards already and can't change them out. Thanks!
@@MactelecomNetworks OK. Thanks. I purchased the Ubiquity Mag Lock, and it says it is fail-safe. I am not entirely certain how it works, but as long as it does, that is great.

As always great information ~ I have this setup on my garage door and side garage door, works really well
How do you have it rigged up to your garage door ?
Great video, it couldn't have been explained better. 👍🏻 I will definitely get Access too

Ya I realized that afterward I put it in my description
Dang Chris, you beat me to it! And yes this was a great video.

Good video, I wouldn't trust UBNT with critical infra yet but maybe one day

@Avery Kamryn Yea, have been using Instaflixxer for years myself :)

Hello, I have seen a lot of your awesome tutorial and I thank you for all. I want to ask if you have tutorial for Unifi Elevator Access?
What was the IDentify (UID) application that appeared after you started Access?
Great video! Wish you would have covered mobile device unlock too.

Great video, looking forward to the on-site install, is that a new install or a replacement/upgrade?
This is a new install in a office my client took over there is existing cabling for door strikes but nothing else
Great video and information. Just wondering if firewall rules need to be set up for the new Unifi Access VLAN?
great video and well presented, thank you

I’m interested in the phone app access and the integration with UniFi talk
thank's for the great video, how many doors can you connect to it? i.e. front door, back door, gate door, laundry door, etc.
You can most definitely run Access on a CKG2+. You even show that in the beginning of your video.
Yup you can I mis spoke and added that to the description
Do you have the updated video with the siren? 16:40
The access controller is now also available on the cloud key gen2 plus.
+1 for the CKG2+ v2.1.7 supporting controllers for Network, Protect, Access and Talk.
Yup realized that after I made that video

Can I connect a G4 Pro to the camera port of the hub?
Is it possible to integrate an Alarm to the Unifi system?

Can you connect the ua lite to your rack switch instead of the access box ?
dose "request to exit" function in a Lockdown?
Thanks
It has been 2 years, did they ever streamline the evacuation and lockdown process? otherwise it's a dead product
Do you have to plug the access readers to the hub or can they be plugged in anywhere as in some situations it would be easier to do that
Do you think you could use it for a gate ?
Hi
Can we use another Unifi Lite Access Device instead of flex camera on same port?
Can I hook up 2 lite readers to the hub or does it have to be the pro in the pro port and the lite in the lite port only?
Codi, is it possible to talk with Reader Pro?
What model electric striker is that
Thx Cody. So i need a access hub per door?
That’s correct, one hub per door
Unifi Access is definitely accessible
Do you need the PRO style switch to power it up or can the door access be powered by AC POE injector. Similar to the ones that sometimes come included with the Access Points.
Hey the access Hub requires PoE++ so you would need a switch capable of that or a power injector with PoE
++
@@MactelecomNetworks can i use a udm-se with no switch for access?

I personally haven't tried other NFC but it does work
How do you keep your door secured during a power failure?
Fail secure electric strikes would keep the door locked

Wonder why you quote in USD this video , when your in Canada
The majority of my viewers are in the USA
Add the g3 flex and update 🙏🏼
I’ve shown it off in live stream a few times it just adds to you Unifi protect I’ll see if I can make a short of maybe I’ll do a Tiktok about it
Anyone: Does this system support anti-passback? ex: a person who swipes to enter must swipe to exit before being permitted to swipe to enter again.
unificloudkey g2+ has access too as of fw 6.0.x
Yup realized that after making the video added to the description
