Our priest wants me to do this Exsultet this Easter Vigil!! I am terrified, I have been practicing hundreds of times every day, I pray I don't mess this beautiful chant!! So anyway, ever since I have been practicing it, suddenly this chant took on a different meaning for me, it really meant something deep in my heart!! Before, I don't think thought too much about it, just thought it was just a lot of words put together! But now I am in love with this Easter Proclamation!! To God give all Honor and Praise
I have been chanting the Exulted for 22 years now and I will do it again for this Easter. The range of my voice is a little lower that this one, but I rehearse it with this. It is, without any doubt, a beautiful song. One year I had a priest compliment me, at the end of the ceremony, saying: «You were not just singing it; you were praying it.»
Rejoice in Lord, He has risen. Exsulet is great hymn, it takes back to Old Testament and bring us to the New Testament. It is the unfolding of the salvation of the Almighty God. Happy Easter everyone.
+FREDRICK MUSUNGU Mozart once said that he would gladly trade away the credits to all of his many (and now much-celebrated) works if he could be the one who composed the exsultet. I invite you to let that sink in for a moment. ;-)
Wonderful recording! I agree with Bill Kelly. Posting of the lyrics and music is a good method. Very worshipful and the phrases are so musical and moving. I understand every word and feel very blessed. Absolutely beautiful!! Great job to Rev. Jonathan Gaspar, St. Cecilia Parish Choir, and Richard J. Clark, Director. Thank you and have a blessed Easter.
I love the method of posting the lyrics and music and hearing it sung at the same time. What a powerful method for teaching music. Someone else said that this was "Beautifully sung." It really was beautifully sung! Thanks for posting this innovative and useful video.
Thank you. It is a wonderful video, and makes me want to go out and shout aloud the Good News of our salvation. Such a good voice - anointed! Thank you!
AMAZING! The voice carried the divine charm from beginning to the end of the Exultet. Easter vigil was beautiful last night. Happy Easter everyone and God bless! :-)
jovefernando Laudetur Iesus Christus! I agree- this was chanted phenomenally. Joyous greetings of the Easter Season to you as well. Christ is Risen! Amen! Alleluia!

@@AnjuSharma-gc5vk ,I don't know what is your concern. I just wrote a stanza from the very same Easter Vigil song. This passage is attributed to I think, St Felix, if I am right. I felt the message in that is very profound. It means, had Adam not committed that original sin we would not have had so gracious and glorious Saviour Jesus Christ on Earth. Therefore the sin of Adam was a happy fault!
This new translation of the Exultet is well adapted to the Latin one and it is simple marvelous and melodious. Thank you. +S.Michael augustine,Archbishop Emeritus of Pondicherry and Cuddalore
🌹O GLORIOUS AND MERCIFUL GOD, It is only right, with all the powers of our heart and mind, to praise You Father and Your Only-Begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Dear Father, by Your wondrous condescension of Loving-Kindness toward us, Your servants, You gave up Your Son. Dear Jesus You paid the debt of Adam for us to the Eternal Father by Your Blood poured forth in Loving-Kindness. You cleared away the darkness of sin by Your magnificent and radiant Resurrection. You broke the bonds of death and rose from the grave as a Conqueror. You reconciled Heaven and earth. Our life had no hope of Eternal Happiness before You redeemed us. @@orlandovargas3964 I'm glad you made it to the Vigil Mass, which is the High Holy Mass of the year. I hope you are feeling better. Take care and God Bless!
Exult, let them exult, the hosts of heaven, exult, let Angel ministers of God exult, let the trumpet of salvation sound aloud our mighty King's triumph! Be glad, let earth be glad, as glory floods her, ablaze with light from her eternal King, let all corners of the earth be glad, knowing an end to gloom and darkness. Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice, arrayed with the lightning of his glory, let this holy building shake with joy, filled with the mighty voices of the peoples. (Therefore, dearest friends, standing in the awesome glory of this holy light, invoke with me, I ask you, the mercy of God almighty, that he, who has been pleased to number me, though unworthy, among the Levites, may pour into me his light unshadowed, that I may sing this candle's perfect praises). (Deacon: The Lord be with you. People: And with your spirit.) Deacon: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them up to the Lord. Deacon: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right and just. It is truly right and just, with ardent love of mind and heart and with devoted service of our voice, to acclaim our God invisible, the almighty Father, and Jesus Christ, our Lord, his Son, his Only Begotten. Who for our sake paid Adam's debt to the eternal Father, and, pouring out his own dear Blood, wiped clean the record of our ancient sinfulness. These, then, are the feasts of Passover, in which is slain the Lamb, the one true Lamb, whose Blood anoints the doorposts of believers. This is the night, when once you led our forebears, Israel's children, from slavery in Egypt and made them pass dry-shod through the Red Sea. This is the night that with a pillar of fire banished the darkness of sin. This is the night that even now throughout the world, sets Christian believers apart from worldly vices and from the gloom of sin, leading them to grace and joining them to his holy ones. This is the night when Christ broke the prison-bars of death and rose victorious from the underworld. Our birth would have been no gain, had we not been redeemed. O wonder of your humble care for us! O love, O charity beyond all telling, to ransom a slave you gave away your Son! O truly necessary sin of Adam, destroyed completely by the Death of Christ! O happy fault that earned for us so great, so glorious a Redeemer! O truly blessed night, worthy alone to know the time and hour when Christ rose from the underworld! This is the night of which it is written: The night shall be as bright as day, dazzling is the night for me, and full of gladness. The sanctifying power of this night dispels wickedness, washes faults away, restores innocence to the fallen, and joy to mourners, drives out hatred, fosters concord, and brings down the mighty. On this, your night of grace, O holy Father, accept this candle, a solemn offering, the work of bees and of your servants' hands, an evening sacrifice of praise, this gift from your most holy Church. But now we know the praises of this pillar, which glowing fire ignites for God's honour, a fire into many flames divided, yet never dimmed by sharing of its light, for it is fed by melting wax, drawn out by mother bees to build a torch so precious. O truly blessed night, when things of heaven are wed to those of earth, and divine to the human. Therefore, O Lord, we pray you that this candle, hallowed to the honour of your name, may persevere undimmed, to overcome the darkness of this night. Receive it as a pleasing fragrance, and let it mingle with the lights of heaven.

Yes! Gregorian chant wins. Much more sacred and heavenly than Tony Alonso's setting, which kind of also breaks the rules about instrumental music.
