Father knew that his son had violent tendencies, and was aware that his son made threats to harm himself and others. However, he chose to look the other way and co-sign for him to obtain weapons. That's sad,RIP to all the fallen angels. But I wanna say something, many kids or young adults make threats and behave like rebels and later they cool down and its over. Parents most of the time dont take such behaviours seriously and almost never will report to the police unless it gets outta hand. So I can understand the dad, he probably thought it were just empty words like a dog that barks all the time but never bites. If he knew what his minster son had planned he would have stopped him and had him arrested like any normal person.
Its so sad what's happening in USA with all the shootings, I really dont understand how can someone easily procure weapons, in USA everyone is armed and have guns which they can buy legally, here in Europe u can't buy a gun/pistol but in USA they all carry heavy weapons like AK 47, M15, heckler and koch etc. I will never understand the US laws, people can buy heavy duty weapons, they can drive when 15, go to fight wars when 18 but if they want to buy a pack of cigarettes or beer they need an ID and be 21 years old at least, very funny laws you got.

Who says they ignored it? The mental health system in the US is totally fucked because of junkies. If you're an addict you have an easier time getting help than if you have any form of mental illness because addiction can be checked with chemical testing while insanity can't. As soon as addiction was declared a disease, services that were being used to help people with actual mental conditions were siphoned off to help people who became addicts instead, and as a result we've seen a massive spike in mental health violence. When my son wanted to die because of problems at school, every single mental health agency in the city I live in told me they couldn't even do an intake for him within 6 months. 30 years ago, if someone was suicidal they got seen that same day, but not anymore, all because addiction is a disease instead of a personal failure.

And if he did talk to the mom, and she didn’t disclose that information, she should be held accountable as well. That’s a good idea. These young kids killing people. That starts in the home. Even before they are bullied or bullying others. Civil suits brought against parents of high income bracket, poor ones should pay in other ways. This has got to stop. These parents are not necessarily abusive, just too busy with careers, kids raised in day care, or nanny grandparents etc. Irresponsible dysfunctional families social services don’t heed warning signs of bad parenting, send children back. Babies having babies, some use as meal tickets to support bad habits, and just don’t care about kids. This could be foster care, adoption, step and natural parenting. I have to say I admire gay parenting . Elton and David, Anderson Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris, they seem to be lovingly raising happy children. Of course even loving parents can have a problem child. But chances are better for future if they get loving attention and care. Of course it depends on each individual case, some parents do all the right things but still have an evil child. Too much computer use, social media video games isolation. I say get social media off, just have private family friend chats, may documentaries. Photos videos and phone. Social Networks should be sued to allowing threats and manifestos on here, plus porn and hate. Parents are using computer s to act as babysitters. Yes parents have to held accountable especially if they give kid permits, and gun stores, they sell guns like candy. Some one made a good point other day” where is the good guy with a gun?” referring to a NRA quote. I realize parents have to work, and sadly essential for single or widowed parents. But two parent household parents can work different shifts so one parent home. Have to start hands on upbringing again. Only my opinion. But my case I worked my partner the father raised kids at home. He did work too when he could health issues, but he pretty much raised our kids. I have to give him credit. I was a good mom but to soft he was disciplinarian. It does make a difference with a parent raising children. For single or widowed , hopefully they have loving extended family before go daycare route. Two parents who work 9-5, exhausted, pick kids up at daycare go home make supper put kids to beds. Kids get more interaction with daycare workers sometimes. I don’t know. But it all starts in the home, before kids have friends as peers
