- Ride along for a few fast laps at the Hill Country Kart Club in a Yamaha KT100 2-stroke racing kart. The track was not particularly grippy this day, and lap times were low 43's. We forgot the rib protector and i ended up with sore ribs for about a month after this, but it was worth it!

Nice tks for sharing brings back some allsome memories
I'm sick of my J version getting destroyed by ka100s but ka100s are like 3000 each so I'm goanna upgrade to this one. Any thoughts?
Seems to me all 2 strokes are somewhat maintenance intensive but the kt100 is a pretty reasonable balance of speed and cost
See if you can the S. I bought my kart and I just found out it’s an S but I’m yet to take it out for a drive but the videos show it’s fast and not very different form a ka100
my local track for my age would either be a lo206 or this engine for a kart what would you recommend for a 14yo beginner?
They can be similarly quick. I'd either go with whichever has a bigger class and better competition, or go with whichever is less expensive to race. I feel like the lo206, being four cycle, is cheaper because engines usually run longer between overhauls, but I'm not a karting expert.
@@rx8matt Thank you!
Is this the kt100s or j?
I'm not sure, I was given an opportunity to drive it but I don't own it.
I have a kt100 as well and it works perfectly, but when I put it on the floor it stops running and it doesn't starts rolling.
Does anybody know why?
Don't you have to give it throttle before you drop it? Or bump the idle speed
Probably direct drive
I need that engine on a bycycle
Did Yamaha use it on motorcycles?
