The beauty of a small layout is that you can actually finish it. I'm sure many people would be discouraged if they had only 2 by 4 to work with, but you have made fantastic use of the space. Fun to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks i am glad you liked it
I have a 8 x 4 train table and the last big layout I tried to do I never finished and eventually took it down mid construction because I got tired of looking at it. I have a smaller modular layout now and I love it. I'm about to start the scenery, and I'm much happier with it how it came out.
I may stick to smaller layouts because they don't feel as complicated and with my last one I was always constantly wanting to change things. OP is right with being able to actually finish them on top of that. Thank you for sharing. That's a very awesome layout.
Can we have a schematic diagram of layout, please.
Yours is an excellent work !
After looking and looking, I really think N gauge seems like the Goldilocks, "just right" way to go. Big enough to not look like a cheap toy, but small enough that you can take step back and really get a full view.
Looks great, InvertLogic! This really helped me decide.
You can get a lot done in a small space with N Scale. This beautiful little layout is proof of that. Very nicely done. I love the Southern high hood SD!
That's an amazing layout! You are inspiration to us all!!!
This layout was extremely similar to what I made for myself when I was in my early teen years (1971-1973). It was also a 2x4 foot setup, with the same folded loop arrangement with the bridge across the middle. I got the idea from a picture I saw in a model railroad magazine of the time. The track layout in this case has a few improvements, like the ability to separate the two loops and run two engines at the same time. And the scenery! This one far, far outclasses what I was able to do in those years.
Thank you.
absolutely unreal what you can do on that size of layout. wow!
Some of the most realistic rock work I've seen in a model, very nice. Went to watch the build video to see how.
Yepper
I like that "night time" shot at about 0:31 very much.
I found Japanese old style houses in America! Good!
This is why N Gauge is the best! You can fit so much more in and more realistic running train consists!
This is a beautiful balance of detail and use of space! I built my first N scale layout using a 28"x 80" interior door, and it took me five years to get it anywhere near complete. 2'x 4' is the sweet spot, allowing for good working ovals without being overwhelming when it comes to doing the detail work.
Thanks. Yes it's little difficult to manage it in this tight space but it's a lot of fun to do it.
Lovely layout. Also appreciate the minimalist music, drawing us into a calm inner world...❤
Good work on the track level filming. It makes the scene seem larger than it is and allows us to appreciate the details. Thanks, Ronn
Thank you very much!
It’s not only a nice layout, it’s a very nice video. Well done.
I really like your layout! It takes the classic "spaghetti bowl" track plan and makes sense of it. In every little vignette you captured the track makes sense doing what it is doing, rising away, passing over, and descending down towards relative to the mainline. That change in elevation and purpose makes the layout so much more interesting.
Great job!

That’s excellent use of a small area, I model n scale hoe/009 and h0/ 00, I really enjoy doing the what some consider the impossible using Scarm to achieve an interesting and maximum run with two tracks in the smallest of spaces. I appreciate your work and thought you have put into this layout to make it interesting and look great 👍, fine work and finishing to the terrain and great track work. Great video thanks for sharing this amazing job.
I've been wanting to build some type of layout for my grandson. Space is an issue. Perfect inspiration, thanks!!
Z scale is 1:220 on 6.5 mm track gage.
N scale really is looking better by the day for me. Just sold a misrepresented n scale locomotive with dcc and sound....made a video here on you tube... the sound filled my garage and the detail was stunning. Also the kato track is great.
Very nice!
Man this looks amazing
Cool layout but Congress needs to outlaw the vi-IV-I-V chord progression yesterday.
Not sure why someone would dislike this lay out n scale is very hard considering the smaller size you really need good eyesight to do these, very good job I love it.
My Gosh-so much action in there!-great scenery -hard to believe all this in 4x2!
Make another of these video's bro! Show all that hard work! Your own layout has inspired me to copy you lol. I will be watching all your how to video's as well. I hope you have a wonderful day!
Thanks for your interest ! I am in the process of adding more videos.
@@InvertLogic Hell yea brother! Keep them coming!
Beautiful work--and so peaceful to watch!
Excellent scenery, some of the best I've seen. The way you did the photo shoot makes it look a lot bigger than it is. Great job.
This looks very well-done. Thank you.
M.C. Fujiwara also models N scale, and I started model railroading because I saw a Model Railroader magazine with four of his ideas for 2'x4' layouts.
Will have look at his layouts. thanks for suggesting
It's a wonderful store from the good old days of Japan.
Very nicely done! My first N scale layout was 2.5 by 4 ft and was a lot of fun. Your finish work is nicely done and it all runs well which will keep you coming back!
Amazing what one can do with even a small layout! Beautiful work and awesome scenery. 👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing your details and this video. Indeed a nice layout
my wife approves this size
One of the best 4x2 layouts I've seen.👏🏽
I had a 4x2 before my current layout. You definitely made the most of it. Very well done.
Great commitment, thank you for sharing your passion!
Thank you! love to see you on channel
I'm building a 4X 2 as well. You've done well with the landscaping. Thanks for sharing a much needed example of a small n scale RR.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent scenery! Those cliffs with the rocks protruding look very realistic.
Really Detailed ... Now Let's Expand To 10 by 6
Really nice video. Beautiful layout
This showcases the beauty of N scale, something you cannot do in HO. Every time I see an HO layout I just think "You could have gotten twice the amount of track/trains and scenery if you had gone N". This little layout looks like one of the ones out of the Atlas Nine N scale book (quite an old book but still useful).
Thanks! Yes that's the reason I went for N scale. its the right balance of space and detailing.
@@InvertLogic I have been doing N scale ever since I was little with my dad. We are actually re-bulding our layout and just went to DCC.
I remember when some thought HO was "too small."
The quality of running stock, models, buildings and scenery has improved in all scales since I was a kid in the 50s. I've even seen some impressive layouts in Z.
@@KutWrite true. you have seen the revolution in model railway. that's great!
The layout looks very realistic, great work!
Pure joy to see...(brilliant layout,.... I can see you've use REAL Rock and grass )
Beautiful, so very well done, I love it!!!!
Excellent layout, scenery fantastic, lighting, poles fantastic 👏
AWESOME!!! Keep up the good work.
The best small layout so far!!!
Great layout. Would love to see the track plan.
Yes please!
Outstanding! Some of the best N scale trackwork I've ever seen. Well done.👍👍
Thank you
Your rock work is very well done!
Just wow. Your scenery is amazing.
Thank you Michael.
Very nice details...you've pushed me over the edge with this one video and I'm in and committed. Thank you for the inspiration!❤
Wonderful! Thank you being on channel. you will see great stuff here
BEAUTIFUL!!!
A great little layout and a well made video.
Helluva way to run a railroad!
Kudos & well done!
Yes, thanks
Awesome!!
WOW! Very nice!
Littlte layout but a lot of possibilities. Hours of fun with this little train. Good job 👍
Many thanks!
Great work. Especially on the scenery.
Beautiful camera work......Cinematic !!!
Very nicely done and I like the track plan. Works beautifully in such confined space. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I am re-working on my layout adding few tracks and points.
Very realistic scenery and you're running the trains at slow speed unlike the breakneck, road-racing speed many guys run their trains. Oh, but I have to ask-what is that strange caboose at the end of the freight train?
Thank you. That caboose is from Kato.
I didn't ask where it was from. I asked what is it. Whatever, we can forget about it.
Incredible. Great music. Yahtzee.
It’s amazing and compact well done!
What a magnificent layout. You did an outstanding job on this layout - including how you filmed it and the music as well.
Thank you.
Yes, terrific and video editing very nice !
Very nicely done! Two continuous loops in the same space as a NTrak module.
A VERY smooth and cohesive layout...great job on the scenery, realistically placed and blended together. I model in '0' scale, 2 rail (not Lionel) and even in a basement, space is an issue...have been a "train nut" for well over 50 years...keep up the good work, I'll be looking for more...Mark. ✌😁
Thank you Mark. 50 years in to this hobby is crazy'.
@@InvertLogic These days with the lockdown, I'm glad I have my trains...helps me keep my sanity. 😜
A great little layout with plenty of action! I plan of building a 2x4 in my apartment.
yes with N scale you can build in apartment. 2 X 4 is best for small areas.
Enhorabuena, buen trabajo!!
Nice layout design for a small space. I like it alot. Well done
That’s Very nice . Great job .
Nicely done video! Thanks for uploading.
Just came across this, looks superb, really like the design and scenery
Hey, thanks!
Very clever track, tunnels & flyover layout design. Very good scenery. Would've liked to have seen switches operating and the passenger train come out.
Thank you. I am actually updating my layout so I will be showing in the future the operation of switches etc. Also I am re doing all electronic and recording the process so there is lot more to come on the channel. Thank you again for your interest.
You earned it, and, you're very welcome.
Beautiful layout. Thanks for sharing
This is so cool and inspiring!
Thanks!
That is so cool... Great layout idea for people with small spaces!
Very nice. The best 2x4 ive seen
Thanks glad you liked
Super nice job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
the layout is simply amazing, but what makes this layout even more beautiful is the background music 😊 can you tell us the title of the song?
Lovely well done....enjoy
Very nice layout for small spaces. Well done!
It really is!
Absolutely awesome layout! Well done. take care...
Thanks, you too!
Very nice. A lot going on, in that 2x4 area. Did you use cork roadbed, or cork sheet? Or, is the track directly on the plywood? Looks to be DCC. Like your layout, great job.
Thanks. roadbed was not available so i used cork sheet.
The camera angles and views of the tour are fantastic, and the layout in such a space is well done!
Interesting views include: The white car on the road is being driven on the left-hand side of the road, and the American-style train with a European-style "guard's van" (not an American caboose). :)
Nice work on the track signals and street lights also.
Very nice!!
Very well done. Thanks for shearing.
one word - excellent .
Great layout
Wow how nice even that is not that big looks cool thanks for sharing.....
Pure innovation. Impressive.
Wow!!
Nice job!!
Hermosa maqueta y sus trenes. Felicidades. 👍🚂🚂
Such a beautiful layout. I’m certain your artistry would shine at any size layout. Well done sir. Truly a work of art.
तुम्ही बांधाल ते तोरण आणि ठरवाल ते धोरण.
Keep it up
A nice, fine model railroad layout
Thank you
nice little layout
Nicely done.
Wow this is a work of art!
Bit of era creep!
I am that way in n scale! I mix up American and Japanese trains....🤣😂
nicely done might try do something simular in 2 by6 feet great inspiration well done layout
Great job
Small but so impressive not overdone like many have done
Thank you!
That is the key!
