Making & Replacing Bushings on BIG Forklift! | Machining & Installing
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- We’ve got the fix for worn-out bushings on this 8 tonne forklift! In this video, we take you inside our workshop to see how we do this complete repair. We begin with removing the tynes (tines) followed by a thorough inspection to identify any damage before the real work begins, machining up the new bushings using polyurethane plastic! We'll take you through every step, from drilling out the centers to machining for a perfect fit. But bushings aren't enough! We also machine up some retaining plates from 1045 steel to keep those new bushings locked in tight. But before installing, we drill the bolts holes in the plates and grease holes in the bushings using our milling machine. With everything completed it's time to re-assemble and put it to the test: will the forklift tynes operate smoothly with their shiny new parts? Tune in to find out if our repair holds up!

TAKE TWO!🤞😅 Unfortunately the original upload got Age-Restricted and de-monetized by YT for policy violations and our appeal was rejected, so we've made some small changes to hopefully avoid that happening again and keep it viewable for you all! 😕 Thanks so much for all the support as we got things sorted! 🥰
For anyone wondering why we used Acetal plastic and not bronze for the bushings, we gave the customer both options but bronze was 5 times the cost so they chose the cheaper option 👍

Fine, I'll rewatch the entire thing again
Was it the outtakes?
I guess it was "fack mee!"
Thats just freaking ridiculous.
Out of interest what was it that triggered the policy?
Watching this again to support Curtis and Cutting Edge Engineering. From the US with Love.
😭 you're gonna make Karen cry, thank you for all the support
I'm going to re-watch it to.
My favorite channel.
Hitting play again as well.
Same goes.
Same here
I don’t think anyone here is bummed to watch your amazing work for a second time. We will always support you!
Absolutely! - we are all bummed and want things improved NOT! LOL 😀 (youtube, you are a disgrace!)
*Cutting Edge Engineering Australia* Looks like YT is up to their old tricks again, what a shame. Thank-you so much for taking the time to bring us along, GOD Bless.
Agree way to many adds. I can't watch anymore
UA-cam rules have become a bad joke and UA-cam does not deserve high quality creators like you guys. I watched this last night and enjoyed very much.
AI is involved all the way even at the appeal, if you continue to appeal then eventually a real human will look. Not kidding.
Totally agree with you pal
Sadly, the alternatives are worse.
If played backwards one can hear satanic lyrics.
UA-cam 🤣🤣🤣
Watching for a second time - you all deserve it!
You're the best! Thank you so much for the support
Lol I usually watch them twice anyway. Once when they release (1 am for me) and then a day or two later because I'm dumb and don't remember things when I'm tired. So I have the unique opportunity to be able to watch things for the first time twice and get twice the joy out of it!
I'm doing my part to support Kurtis, Karen and Homey by watching this video again. FYT! Much love and respect from the Netherlands.
As everyone else has said, watching again. What on earth was wrong in the first cut that caused UA-cam to-monetize and age-restrict it. It leaves me baffled. Keep up the good work. You are couple of hard working decent people. You deserve the support 🇬🇧
probably some outtakes, or homeless' twig and berries flopping all over the place. Very damaging for all the 12 and under kids tuning in to see the Franna crane rebuild updates
*de-monetize
We got you, watching the whole thing again. No ad skips.
Legend!! Thank you so much for the support
You get ads?😂
Yep
Me too 😊😊😊🙌👍🍀
UA-cam premium has changed my life the ads so bad without it.
I love at 5:08 where Curtis grounds the invisible forks before he turns the lift off. Shows what 1000’s of reps of doing it the right way will do.
Would’ve been more practical to leave the mast in the same position for refitting but like you said it’s just automatic lol. Handbrake forks key
I noticed it too. As a 15yr forklift operator myself, its muscle memory
I have no problem watching it a second time, it's easy watching 2 masters at work
I don't mind to watch this again during my morning coffee. Greetings from Poland
Here for the second round too…
And truly: what a heck? How on earth could anyone classify it as “age restricted”, “inappropriate content?”
Only if, now, ingenious hard working became “bad”.
We are all here for our weekly dose of Curtis down to earth skills and Karen’s takes on it!
Outtakes at the end? Where he talks like 99% of the people on the planet? Or he uses industry terms that have been in place for hundreds of years but the words have been hijacked by groups in the 21st century? I've noticed a very large increase in word 'unalive' in videos lately.
Hard work and work ethics, not cutting any corners to deliver the best possible result, might scare or be offensive to the younger generations?
Yeah it was the many f__'s in the outtakes for sure. There are a million tort lawyers out there trying to get into Google's pockets and 61 million channels to track. Not to mention a billion commenters. Hard problem.
Rewatching for you as terms are BS. You guys do great post production work on top of great work for your customers. The bloopers are some of the best! Keep them coming Curtis….
Much appreciated!!!
Bloopers are great!
Even people from Germany are watching twice. Keep up the good work, you have been great
I thought people from Germany would watch it twice as a matter of course - can't risk missing any important detail! ;)
Would be happy to rewatch CEE, always a joy seeing Kurtis & Karen make quality parts to keep heavy duty equipment going! A JOB WELL DUNE MEANS MORE WORK HEADED YOUR WAY! Homeless wanted to play keep away with Karen, love seeing the birds being fed! Thanks Karen for you're great video camera work. Hope to see CEE next Friday!
I am sorry when you showed the spade bit all I heard was..... "That's not a Drill Bit THIS is a DRILL BIT!!!!" LOL
I have NO problem watching this again. Great video.
wow thanks so much mate for the support
I would watch it again anyway, always do so. Just great content
Same here. We have an awesome worker/builder/problem solver, a special and much loved dog and some birds. Those birds need some kind of house for them...
I love how happy and encouragable Homeless is. He so obviously knows he's loved.
I am still amazed that acetyl, Delrin, is able to work as a bushing for a fork lift that size.
Thanks for allowing us into the shop to watch you in action.
We make bushings for the variable speed pulleys on our vertical mills. Delrin lasts for years
Watched it a second time to make sure the algorithm knows I support you.
Watching again for you guys. It should never have been flagged!!!
Awww, those rat bastiches! Welp, I know what I'm watching to wind down for bed tonight! Filters and blockers off, let's fecking GOOOOO
Sorry in advance if I don't make it all through in one go, lol. I just find it so calming to watch someone ELSE fix stuff.
Karen does an absolutely brilliant job of helping Kurtis be videogenic. Brava!
And talking 😂, with the greatest of respect and admiration.
She's like an aussie lion tamer
I watched the first cut but I'm gonna watch this one all the way through too. You guys deserve the monetization. Thanks for making great content!! 😁
We appreciate that support very much, thanks mate!
You’ve made my 3 year old very happy! This is our weekend ritual and he enjoys all your videos asking many questions along the way.
I sometimes watch with my 5 and 6 year old daughters. They like car repair videos and machining.
My wife is going to get "Making & Replacing Bushings on BIG Forklift! | Machining & Installing" tattooed on her face, like all the kids are doing these days. We will never forget this day or this video or the editing. We have sent this video to our local forklift so they can watch too . Bless you
Well this is a delightful idea. I have invited my church over and we will all be watching it tonight and commenting. Like and subscribe is the name of the sermon this morning. I hope the damn forklift gets 8 million views by next week.
Tynelift
Watching this again is a delight for me. Always support real content creators no matter what UA-cam does.
Watching again so you get what you guys deserve for taking the time to film, edit and upload!
You're the best!
I am watching it again so you get full credit.
thank you so much for the support
I’ll watch every video more than once. Learn something new each time. Great work mate!! Awesome camera work Karen!!
Screw them i watched it the first time and now 2 more times since re releasing it. Much love and support from California USA
Watching again. YouChube can just go sing. Also, a shout-out for Patreon. The longer vids are even more informative and give a great insight into the workshop dynamic. Plus there’s no Puritan algorithm to demonetise!
I"m just a happy man seeing someone else calling it 'Chube', I usually refer to it as 'HughChube' or 'EweChube', Us folk who love fvcking about with the written word need more appreciation ..
Patreon is also a woke company and will ban/boycott subscribers for political reasons.
Unfortunately, YT makes money because we watch it again.
They and other (anti)Social media platforms ARE publishers because of how they police (Gestapo like) content, and they deserve to be regulated as such.
Like i have an issue watching this all over again. Geez. Glad i caught the original version. I look forward to your show every week. Thanks Curtis !!!!! Keep 'em coming !!!!
Master Kurtis back again for your second words of metal working wisdom. Will be running on loop a few times just to bugger the algorithm 🤣🤣🤣
Almost every time YT has these "problems".. Really ,i'm trying to locate, witch part of the original video, was the "bad spot".. Karen has the best directing and editing capabilities overall.. SPOTLESS I'd say.. Really.. Damn algorithm.. Of course I saw the updated episode ,TWO times again,(regardless the back and forth .. ) Heads up Karen !! You are the best !! 😁😁
Rewatching just to get the numbers up, Re-Upped it after midnight!
😭 you guys are the best!!!
Same here.
Me too
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering re-uploading is woman's work!
So happy it's back up, I can imagine how frustrating this all was.
Thank you Karen for your hard work. Watching Kurtis work his magic again is a fine way to spend an hour out of the rain on a Sunday afternoon in Skåne Sweden.
OMG, I can't believe you're free hand drilling that hole in the bushing without clamping it in the machine and using your centering tool. 🤣🤣🤣 I love that you're such a perfectionist, but when I see you do that, I laugh. Take care and God bless you.
Watching the video again to support 💪🏻 Karen puts a lot of effort into getting Curtis saying the lines 😉 so the video definitely deserves another viewing. And as a reminder, the outtakes are next level joy 🤣
I’ll watch it again all the way through just because. ❤️👊
you're a legend thanks mate
I can't believe that you made the bushes the exact same dimensions for the second video. Precision engineering! Well done!
;)
I don't know why but each time Karen say "Hi George" I have an image of a magpie going to an AA meeting and say "Hello my name is George" Thank you Karen and Kurtis for those amazing & awesome videos
I'll watch it again for sure
legend!
Making a comment to just support the video… watched the first version… loved it…
I thought the original was awesome . They can’t take my memories guys lol .😎. Sometimes I watch your videos 3 and 4 times . 👍🏻
Don't know what the problem is, but I'll watch it again. Not a problem for me.
Im gonna watch through the whole video again because youtube cant get its shit together and demonetize videos at random. There is nothing wrong with this video. Love your work always happy to see uploads and i learn a lot thank you for the hard work and explanation of things as you go
Great job kurtis, and Caren, an of course the safety officer homie. Thank you for all you do for us
Much appreciated for the support mate!
Very interesting and educational for all ages, thanks for taking the time to produce and post these family friendly amazing videos.
Sucks you had to re-upload this one. Damn algorithm.
very frustrating 😥
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering Fucking UA-cam.
I missed it. What was the issue?
@@mfx1 Hahahaha, commented the same reply above!
Yea I remember watching this before this on Friday
I find myself rewatching jobs I already watched before by mistake, but once it starts, I can't bring myself to turn away.
RE-Streaming on every account we have in our household! Love you guys. 👍😎
The best type of Australian bushcraft, again!
I ain’t got a problem watching this superbly made piece of cinematography, you toob really does take the biscuit sometimes, especially their faceless psudeo police🤯
Just sitting here in my "Parent's Basement"; Thinking Metallic, Bronze Bushings could be a better material choice considering the destruction of the Polymer Bearing units, and oval wear on tines... Thx for Sharing. The world needs a "Pets of YT Channels" Video...
The flip side is that harder-wearing bushings often produce more wear on the shaft. I've seen shafts worn down relatively quickly after someone "upgraded" to brass or bronze, after decades of service with OE-equivalent plastics.
One option I would have preferred as the customer - and it may have been offered - would be a second pair of bushings, to be replaced in 3-6 months. That would allow the wear rate to be checked and a PM schedule determined.
I suggest we all chip in and boost this vid to show that we are not happy about this development💪🏻
Well thank you very much! We appreciate the support mate - Cheers! Kurtis, Karen & Homey
Dutifully re-watched and liked because you can't let those algorithms win!
UA-cam standards are such bs. Love your videos !!!!
More than happy to watch again to support you guys. Thanks for the great content, Friday morning at 8am in the UK has become a ritual to watch as soon as new content is uploaded. Thanks again ❤
Watching it again; shame the first version got nixed. Fantastic content! Thank you both!
As many here have said, watching it again ! -- Nice work and appreciate the effort put into these videos !
Homeless still did perfect first takes. Rewatching to support the talent displayed here (along with some great machining and videography/editing).
How many others watch these videos at night, fall asleep and then re watch it again and again until they have seen the whole thing
Many Thanks Curtis and Karen for all those filthy machinery ₽○яи videos from Germany! 🇩🇪❤️🇭🇲
Haha! Cheers mate, we're here to entertain! Thanks so much for the massive Super Thanks contribution, you're an absolute legend, and we appreciate ya! Cheers - Kurtis, Karen & Homey.
You know what youtube, i'll watch this even harder now!
😂👍 Legend thanks mate
Rewatching, and letting the ads roll all the way through without skipping :)
Me too
I watched the original and I watched the remake and I am buggered if I can understand the problem. All I know is that UA-cam has a history of doing this.
I am with you Kurtis!
Up yours YT!
Of course I'm watching again! ❤
CEE videos are my Saturday Night Fever!!!!!
Jesus, those outtakes are so good. ^^
Karen Great POV shot on the drill going into that black plastic ! We appreciate little things like that 👏👏👏
Watching again and sharing everywhere. Let’s triple those views people!
Well, I guess I'm watching it again. When the age restriction popped up I thought, as they say across the pond, my TV was on the blink. Just as entertaining as the first go around.
Seen the first one. Kurt and karen you do wonderful videos. I watched it twice didnt see anything wrong with video or commentary. So Ill wach this and see what changed. Smile and be happy...❤
We didn't change much, a couple of shots of Homeys nutz and some of the outtakes 🥴 We really couldn't see any issues that would cause a restriction or policy violation
Super un-helpful yoo-toob pseudo police🤯
Gotta figure most “underage” probably don’t watch vids longer than 15 seconds so would never make it to the outtakes 😂
Glad you made it past the censors - love your vids 👍🏻
@@CuttingEdgeEngineeringpoor Homey. I remember the Bud Light ads from the Eighties with Spuds MacKenzie, a bull terrier mascot. All of the dogs used in the video ads were female, even though Spuds was a male persona, because they didn’t want his nutz displayed on television. I thought it was ridiculous then and even more so now.
There are 2 other channels i watch and tgey're having the same issues. Yt ai is causing some issues.
Unfortunately I missed the first one and was so impatient to wacht the new upload!
Thanx
I thought I'd had a memory lapse when this came up again, will always take time to see what your up to. Cheers
I love your videos. I have no problem watching it again. Thank you
Bedankt
The pleasure is absolutely OURS! Thanks for the support mate - cheers!
Yet another excellent video. Thanks for making the effort to share engineering stuff that most people don’t even know exists.
Whew!! Thought I was going bonkers there for a min!!
But I'll watch it again .
Gladly rewatching!
My favorite part was watching the new grease go in to the bushings. It gives me an ASMR response, lol
Well at least this time I now know it is not a new acquisition for the workshop, though I still reckon the forklift would be useful around the place. I am happy to view it again to see the small changes.
For the re-post
You're a legend, thanks so much for the support mate. Cheers!
Watching it again in support
I've already seen this video, so I'll watch it again, just because I like watching your videos.
We've got you Curtis! Rewatching mate 👍
You post it, I’ll watch it. BTW I love watching old re-runs😂!
Watching again from Ireland. We got your backs Guy's. No worries.
Yep. I’m on the re-watch bandwagon showing full support.
I do enjoy watching Curtis work his magic.
Watching and commenting again for the algorithms
And i enjoy watching 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You're the best!
Yeehaw I get to watch the video again. The Disney edition!😂😂😂
Awe man, I thought I was living in a time loop when I saw this pop up again 😳 I'll watch the whole thing again just to be sure I didn't miss anything 👍❤️
The world has gone mad. Watching again now from the 🇬🇧
We need to support you and Homeless with his toy box😊
Oh no I have to rewatch this to support amazing creators? My life is over.
Excellent Vidoe! Our kids are enjoying watching!
