Thanks dude! it's been good fun making them, gives me something to do beside work and a reason to get out of the house and down the workshop! Just wish I could release them more frequently

No one wants a gummy engine. Valve lapping is very therapeutic, you can see why those who build an engine are very ocd about how it gets treated once in the car.

Yeah it'll be good to hear this thing fire up for the first time knowing it's all clean with brand new rings and bearings and those valves really needed lapping when you look at them before and after it's a world of difference. Having seen people make 450hp at the wheels with this engine/cam combo and no form of rebuild what so ever i'm quite excited!

@@SamwiseEXCL so much torque the chassis twisted coming off the line?

@@lukethompson2589 Haha i doubt that! (i hope!) it should be grunty enough to break traction up until 4th though I imagine! Hopefully the diff and axles will hold out atleast for a while as long as I don't do any wild launches with it.

Does "giving the valves a whack" help compress the locking ring in to place?

I'm not sure it does a whole lot really apart from probably just test that they're properly held in place and aren't going to eject themselves off in the space at the first use!
