I quit watching when they bullshitted Glenn's survival under the dumpster just to kill him off 3 episodes later.
It was closer to a season later but yeah that was ridiculous
I thought he died then, and stopped watching
I knew Glenn survived the horde. It was obviously Nicolas the zombies were eating. Hint: Intestines aren't in your upper chest.
Me too. Negan was a good character but killing them w a bat really went down hill after that.
They should have made it 5 seasons. It would be known as a classic.
. Yeah right. The saviors ark was one of the best. For me it was the whispers that I wasn’t a fan of their arc. It was a good concept but could have been better
If it did there would be so many plotholes you have no idea. Especially to those who read the comics.
Fr tho season 9 10 and 11 are soooo good lol
Agreed.
That would be hella stupid. That covers like no material...
U would never be able to fit all that in 5 seasons . Unless u want 30 episode seasons which is bad
Since no one else is saying it, Robert Kirkman is actually the comic writer, he wasn't the show runner for season 1 of the walking dead. That was Frank Darabont. Frank Darabont got fired from his position for asking for a higher budget. Not a raise, a higher budget.
No disrespect to Kyle though. It was an honest mistake any of us could have made.
And not only did they not increase the budget, they actually cut it. It became a hit show immediately and their reaction is to cut the budget...
Half true, He calling them out on all there Greedy Bs so they ILGALLY fired and it took 8 years for him to win (I know settel) that lawsuit
@@BamaShanks Every season has had less of a budget the the one before, Even in the shows prime, the cunts at amc pocketed the money.
Without Rick and Carl the show loses its purpose
^ this
Carl and his stupid fucking haircut sucked.
"You see, I disagree..."- Woody when he's about to have the most braindead take just to play devils advocate
Not sure whether him, Joe Rogan or Stavros Halkias takes the case for the dumbest smart guy
@@chrisgit4433 stavvy baby
I think the 3 of yall take the cake
And share it
@@chrisgit4433 why stavvy?
Rick biting off that guy's face who was about to rape Carl is absolutely the high point of this show. I wanted more of that - and now we never can.
You wanted more of guys r*ping Carl?
It stopped being suspenseful and turned into a damn soap opera. I stopped watching after like season 3 or 4, though I heard it got good again later.
Ppl keep telling me it got good again too. But honestly I haven't made it through a single episode of the new ones. I tried a couple times and was disappointed with the show honestly it doesn't even keep my attention anymore. I don't see what the hype is about. I like the zombie movies and the show znation was good while it lasted but idk about the walking dead. It's not how it used to be for sure
It was good pretty much up until the season 7 premiere then it was downhill and couldn't really find its footing again. I would argue that the newer episodes from around maybe season 9 on are just as good as those other seasons but for me there is a lack of investment in the characters that are on the show. The remaining ones you care most about have way too much plot armour for it to ever be suspenseful and that makes you less invested in them as characters if that makes sense.
Woody likes the walking dead because its something he does with Colin, and he is just justifying it.
Whos colin
@@John-Doe-Yo collin*, his son lol
@@John-Doe-Yo I think its actually collin, but his son
@@John-Doe-Yo his sons special, so it's something they can both watch together
It legitimately became better though
I was out when they killed off Carl for the contract $$. See ya
same, bone head move. Then they tried doing his comic arc with another character and then killed that character off too lmao
@@GabagoolGangHonestly I didn't know that, that's hilarious, glad I stopped watching after they killed off Carl
Kyle was correct that the original developer of the show got his crew together and handed AMC a show and then AMC got greedy and pulled terrible ideas, like making season 2 twice as long but then half the budget of season 1. Season 2 was supposed to include an episode amongst more where you follow a soldier the entire time, then the soldier gets bit and returns to a tank to die, then the tank was going to open and Rick gets in and you realize that is where Rick gets into the tank in season one. All those great ideas were scrapped because they did not have the budget to continue after AMC's greedy choices.
dang that would have been great
Breaking bad is 10x better with half the amount of seasons...the walking dead lost me long ago
100%.
@@roamingthereal4060 I think the writers for that show could've done something great with a few extra seasons but they wrapped it up perfectly imo, BCS is a great "follow up" show while still being its own thing
Just finished watching it. Show is 10x better for sure.
Show peaked at season 3, then fell off hard after the first half of season 5.
kyle is so on point about this ive watched ep 1 a week after it aired all the way till now almost agree with everything he said
Lmao me too bro.
It all started when they started separating the characters into their own episodes. Yeah it made sense in season 4 after the prison, But they dragged that out in every season for no reason other then making a bottle episode to save money.
Then another issue the show started having was only making the premieres and Finales the important episodes with everything in-between feeling so slow and drawn out. Like fuck.
Then they faked Glenn's death and then Brought him back only to die again, which I don't have a problem with Glenn dying it happened in the comic (Although it was done so much better in the comic) but faking it and then undoing it like softened the blow (no pun intended) and also making the finale a cliffhanger also dragged it down even more.
Then yeah the nail in the coffin for me was killing Rick and Carl. Rick I somewhat understand since the actor wanted to leave (even though he's my favorite) but getting rid of Carl when the Actor wanted to continue the show was truely the day that the show died. Because Carl was the future and he was so young and gave the world hope. When he died it really ruined the whole point of the story.
Rick isn’t dead in the larger walking dead universe. They basically had him exit the show to work on a stand alone movie. They did the same thing with machone. The movie has been post poned bc of covid but it should start filming this winter.
This is the correct take
I feel like woody is really underselling the plot armor in the walking dead, yes more characters die but there are a ton of moments where Rick or someone else survived an impossible situation, hell glenn managed to survive under a dumpster surrounded by zombies somehow.
Kyle mistook Robert Kirkman for Frank Darabont.
Show died when Carl died. All to save a few $$. YMS has a good breakdown of the behind the scenes stuff, this show could have been bigger than game of thrones.
Carl chose to leave the show so he could go to college and focus on streaming. He made the choice to leave, so the show killed his character.
@@connorcraft9594 that's not true, he had just bought a house in Georgia next to the filming location so he could be closer to the set. They cut him because he turned 18 and they'd have to start paying him adult rates.
@@la9425 eh, could be true. But I’m more believing of the fact that it was because the show had planned for Maggie to be the major season death that would turn the tables for Rick snapping, since Laren Cohen was deciding to leave the show. Halfway through the season, she decided that she’d stay on. I’m pretty sure it was Lauren Cohen/Maggie, but it might’ve been another actor. Gimple panicked because they had worked up a major character death for the season in the trailers and promotion, and so he wrote for Carl to die. Don’t know if he just stuck with it and rode it, or if he didn’t have time to.
But the show has been known to cheap out a whole lot. FTWD was great with a different show runner, but once Gimple ran it, it definitely went down in quality. Locations stopped being as insane and creative, acting talent wasn’t as good, which is all fruit from a cut budget/skimping.
Show was pretty bad at that point already. Season 9 post Carl is in my opinion one of the best seasons of the entire show.
@@schnauzerclauser5399 they had a licence to print money and they got so greedy they started selling off parts until the machine didn't work anymore :/
I stopped watching when every episode became 40 minutes of speeches and then 3 minutes of something interesting.
i think the fans give Woody too much shit for his tv / movie opinions, however the fact he didn't like GOT's Battle of the Bastards is weird. it's widely accepted as one of the greatest episodes of television ever lol
Glen was the reason many stopped watching. When he got killed and they tried to make Negan a sex symbol I was out.
Kyle mistaked frank for kirkman.
Kirkman never wrote the mist.
yeah i was wondering about htat. who the hell is frank?
Easy answer : they changed the story from the comics.
My cousin had a prominent role in TWD. He was introduced early and lived for quite a while. He said that he was extremely happy in the show but it dragged on for so long that he wasn't able to take, or search for that matter, another job. He isn't bitching because he's filthy rich, but he is having a more difficult time because he's always looked at the same way and if he does get offers they're always for the same character he played in the show.
Just went on for TOO long. Even for some of the actors.
Of course woody liked that Carl died , he had so many shit takes
the walking dead slowed down to much. It's good to change it up. But the walking dead slowed it down just a bit to much. It was to slow to keep any interest. I forget the show is even still going its slowed down so much.
Now if they would bring back z nation we would have something decent to talk about 🤣
honestly if z nation was more serious and less silly it would be pretty solid i felt like it had a lot of potential.
The show ultimately got bad around season 8 because Scott Gimple wanted to make it his show, by killing Carl, & adding all that stupid shit with trash people, and not following the comics. Negan was suppose to be a home run for the show, & he ruined it.
I agree with woody, was good up until negan, got terrible, then roped me back in with season 9 and 10
The thing about the walking dead is that there’s no way a zombie apocalypse could last as long as it has in the show. Bodies walking around in that Georgia heat would rot themselves to the ground in just a few days. Even up north, the bodies would fall apart and rot too quickly for there to be a “zombie apocalypse.” Even fresh zombies would rot in a matter of a few days.
woody wrong woody wrong
The pilot episode of Walking Dead was shot and filmed as a movie, imo it's the best episode in the whole series and the show progressively gets worse after the pilot.
@@Don-pn2mf funny how the title of the video is "Where the Walking Dead went wrong", it went wrong after Darabont left and AMC fucked him over
100% correct opinion, I was hooked at the start and completely gave up after like season 3 or so.
I stopped watching around when Maggie got pregnant and there was no actual proof she was pregnant. Morning sickness, stomach pains, a growing stomach. Then all of a sudden after a season or.2.of being pregnant she finally starts to have symptoms. Wtf
why does Harley look like Woody's illegitimate son
The show died for me the season after Rick was gone. Feminism was ramped in the writing after this. It became too insulting as a man to watch.
When I saw a clip of a season I didn’t see yet and I saw them in those fuckin stormtrooper suits I knew I was done with the show.
What did Robert Kirkman have to do with The Mist? He must be confusing him with Frank Darabont.
Aka it always was overhyped trash
Killing Carl was when the show effed up.
Watched every episode every week when it was coming out from start to around season 4 or 5. At my grandma's house funny enough with my aunt my two cousins , my two younger siblings my pops every Sunday when I was 10 back in 2010 ahh good times man.
It was hinted at endlessly that Daenerys was going to be evil right from season one.
TWD turned to shite but those first 4 or 5 seasons were juicy
Game of thrones is ass, walking dead is ass... stop it
They lost me when I saw ricks daughter shooting walkers with his big ass .357
I watched the first 6 seasons religiously, the moment each episode was released. Now I'm only just finding out by chance there's a new season lol
People who think that GOT or TWD is bad clearly either haven't seen or forgotten about literally the worst finale dismantled show ever: L.O.S.T.
season 11 has been great so far
no taylor? why even watch?
The end of game of thrones made Jon Snow's entire story pointless.
Anything with that many seasons will fail horribly. Thats why Breaking Bad is the best show ever. It didnt drag on. Every episode matters. (except the fly episode)
the last two seasons of Breaking Bad were kinda meh, i watched for a long time simply cuz i wanted to watch every episode
Made issues.
1. Changing So much from the comic.
2. Amc's Greed, S1 had the biggest budget of every season so far.
3. The Gimmicks (Negan cliffhanger/ Glenn Dumpster/ S10 Cave cliffhanger)
4. Amc pandering to the dumbest of the fanbase/ the reaction channels.
Walking Dead itself became a zombie
GoT seasons 1-4 had very little footage of battles. Pretty much up until the battle for King's Landing, all you'd see of battles was the aftermatth and everyone talking about how the outcome of that battle changed things. The later seasons were only focused on the battles and could care less about characterization or intriguing dialogue.
What idiot thought it would be a good idea to put the catapults OUTSIDE THE WALLS?
Woody is bad at listening
Woody's take on everything absolutely enrages me. Walking dead is absolute dog shit, gun handling is dog shit, CGI is dog shit.
I swear to god the only truly quality season in my opinion is the first.
It doesn’t absolutely turn dumpster fire until about season 5-6 but even before those there were some seriously terrible arcs that were dragged out far too long.
Darabont should’ve never been canned. That hack loser Gimple turned the series into a total joke with terrible writing and constant eye roll inducing moments.
I stopped watching when negan showed up. Glenn getting domed wasn't even the reason. I could just tell he was one of those villains where you knew nothing for the next season would matter because of his impenetrable plot armor. The motherfucker blocked a bullet with a baseball bat. Come on.
I hate the fact that Rick is gone because now the focus is on useless side characters no one gives a shit about. "No one is safe" only works when you have interesting characters to work with.
Rick is the MC of course he's safe it's his story. If TWD was the kind of show that didn't have an MC it was just various character then ok, you could get away with killing him.
One of the reason I like the 100 so much is because noone is safe plot armor doesn't exist the carecters u like WILL DIE
My opinion season 1 and 3 the BEST love it I can re watch and still be amazed
Season 4 to 6 well toward the middle of 6
It’s was so boring
Beth death was so bad I couldn’t take it seriously after that.
But once Negan killed Glenn it grab my attention.
The issue I had with Glenn death was the whole walker ontop of him because the guy he was with blew his brains out and land ontop of him and he walks out unharmed….. then two episodes in he ends up dead……. Like ehh ok lol
I stop watching cause it felt so much like rinse and repeat.
But I started re watching it again and negan makes the show a bit better love him or hate him he’s hold the show.
And I agree with Kyle Ricks and Carl’s gone it makes the show so tainted.
Fear the walking dead sucks and so does the other spinoff. I'm just waiting for the 3 rick movies
*excited that a new video came out on PKA/fan pages then sees Harley is in it* Ight imma head out
I don't understand how you can think Walking Dead is a good show but think the Battle of the Bastards was a terrible scene....
I could say confidently that the walking dead was enjoyable enough for me to the end. It has its dumb cgi tiger moments, but almost every long ass show has its moments
The walking dead made the same mistake two and a half men and Big Bang theory made.
Too long, Just end your fucking show and make a new one people.
Did this man genuinely just claim the Walking dead doesn’t have plot armor? It’s literally a show everybody knows for its stupid plot armor of all main cast members unless it’s a season finale, there are fucking countless memes about it. It’s literally the same thing that he is complaining about the final seasons of game of thrones, main cast can’t die no matter the odds. Both shows started out with main cast dying by poor choices then the shows lost their way and made them immortal because they needed them in later scenes but wanted shocking moments
Negan would have died 3 episodes after his introduction if he didn't magically perfectly block a bullet with his wooden baseball bat.
god I really hate it when Harley is on, the way he talks, he always sounds drunk and is constantly interrupting and trying to take the conversations in a different direction
When Rick left I left
The walking dead started out really strong, especially when they reached the sanctuary ark and met “the mayor”.
Woody doesn’t know John Snow had divine intervention on his side. He was revived by the lord of light, and that god is one of the few in the story to have legit powers
Where the walking dead went wrong.
Season 1, episode 1, 0:00:01
I watched early, I liked up to season 3 then it kinda got played out
Woody at 9:20 looks like a child raising his hand to talk his eyebrows are exploding
The dynamic audio ruined the show.. dialogue was very low while all the sound fx and zombie noises were ear piercing. You literally had to become an audio engineer while watching the show constantly adjusting the volume.
So nice to watch this without stupid comments from Taylor
This show sucked after negan. Yet another L woody take
Not the mention when the blood squirts it looks like microsft paint
the point at which your not following any of the original characters and the first few seasons when they weren't sure if they wanted to follow the comics or not
The show is a adaptation of a Comic which is most media nowadays the show is ending right wen the comic is ending
Walking dead is trash and always has been just an over dramatized show
Once again Woody with the awful take.
Jon didn't die Woody because he had to kill the NK.
Killing shane off was the biggest mistake
I don’t like all the storm trooper looking dudes
The show got bad after Glenn dies
first!
The Walking Dead went wrong in the first episode when the cop guy's wife banged the other guy in the forest. Oh yeh, let's just completely let our guard down during the middle of a zombie apocalypse, where we can be attacked literally anywhere at any time.
never watched the walking dead
is it just me or was harley on some upper ?
ill admit ive never seen GOT but how can you think anything is more epic than helm's deep
TLDW watch the comics because the show lacks a lot of the elements that make it great. ALso watch breaking bad
The series went on to long
The Negan Arc was way too fucking long. It drug out and just felt like a chore to watch. The arc with The Whisperers seemed slightly too long and could have been a lot more brutal to really show what the Whisperers are. I'm looking forward to see the next season when it hits Netflix, I hope it's damn good to end off the show.
Harley is wrong about so much… I don’t know where to start!🤷🏾♂️
Walking Dead for sure is an amazing TV show but I stopped watching in the later Seasons. I believe it was shortly after they were done with the prison I never made it to any episodes with Deegan (neegan?😅) in it though so somewhere inbetween there they completly lost me.
They were screwed the moment they thought they could kill off Carl. Main aspect of the comic is to end off with Carl. And then the actor for Rick left to do a seperate movie so mowmits just execs farting out filler stories from now on
Woody really needs to stop interrupting the guests. It really pisses me off when a guest is about to say some interesting shit, and WoodyGamerdick, just comes in and cuts him off.
Game of thrones was so boring, I didn't even make it half way through episode 1
Its a show about zombies who can´t even run , just by walking a little bit faster your safe. How in the hell that can last more 10 seasons ?
Season 1
I have to agree with woody on this one shows are much better when there isn't plot armor I will say that walking dead fails at building up the side characters more so when people do get murdered or killed the show can continue. That's where game of thrones does an amazing job.
