These plums are simply delicious ! Very hard to find, and considering the times it takes, no wonder the price tag ! If only we could have more ! I advise everyone here to try these plums. You'll just love ❤️ it !
thank you for the recipe! i used to get onigiri with pickled plum as a kid but the cafe i got them from stopped making them and i havnt been able to find them anywhere else in my city. ill have to try making these hopefully they turn out as good as yours !
Absolutely loved this! Thanks for sharing this very relaxing & inspiring video. I appreciate the hard work gone into this, as a foodie UA-camr myself 👍🏼
My great grandmother was half Korean I know it’s a totally different culture but I don’t know if I could eat this. I dislike pickles so if it tastes anything like it I know I wouldn’t enjoy it
Hi, I loved the video and I'm planning on trying out the recipe, but I wanted to ask: does shiso have another name I can find it by? Or is there something I could use to replace it? I don't think I'll find it in my city.
Please do not throw water down the drain. People watching your videos will flow you doing that. We need to use that water for cleaning purposes like washing utensils or sink. Thank you
I couldn't find this type of plum. But I'll try making something similar to this with a more polished plum.

Check out a health food store for umeboshi plums, paste + vinegar - Eden company makes all 3! Good luck ☺️
How long will it last in the fridge? Do you have any issues with bugs trying to get to the plums when you are sunbathing them?
Thank you for sharing this video Sir. Wife packed me these in my work meal, I am very amazed at the flavor
as always a beautiful video! and looks delicious!

Thank you. Making some tomorrow

It is red perilla leaves. It may be easier to buy seeds online and plant your own if you don’t have Japanese or Vietnamese grocery stores.
@@PatrickYan thank you!!
Can someone tell me if the plums are a specific variety or I can try to make umeboshi with any plum I can find in the fruit market? 😅
you can
Ultimate secret art:
Eat a bunch of pickled plums!

Looks so good
whats the shiso for
What drink is that?!!
Miso soup
@@PatrickYan thank you!
Excelente, adoro umeboshi
Can you use normal America plums or do you have to use the type in the video
I have not tried with American plum. You may try with unripe apricot.
Red shiso is unavailable. Which one you recommended to instead of?
You can skip shiso. It will still taste good.
@@PatrickYan Red shiso is added for color and also tasty more right? Shiso smelling like a herbs. Maybe is more good. 🥹
Can you use any plums??
I am not sure because the water content might be different and flavor might be different. You can try though!
@@PatrickYan okay, thank you
Hello, can I wash ume in water? I can't eat alcohol because of religious reason.
Yes just wash very clean.
I see this from oishinbo manga and anime.
