Hey quick tool hack I use all the time is I welded a slide hammer to a good set of vise grips, works great to grab and pull seals/ bearings/ cotter pins/ axles...
I had that same problem with my ranger what I did was welded a ubolt on the cv joint and put a chain on it n used a slide hammer to hit it off she came easy. 👍🏽
Glad y'all figured out that the boots got to hot and exploded like I mentioned last time. But great video as always guys and super glad to actually see someone try that boot stretcher because I almost bought one but was wanting to see somebody give a true review of it.
Cannibal440 I know that I run a 4" CATVOS lift on my Commander plus a 2" spring puck lift and I only break my CV Joints on one axle on the front but, I don't run mine on the road at higher speeds for any length of time but from some other people I've talked to the boots get to hot and start blowing up like a balloon till they explode and I'm not sure about the lift part but I'm sure it has a hand in it plus the type grease may also have some play in it.
Doug You Only Get One Set Of Eyes!! Don't set the example on how to loose one. The last time I tried putting something big in a small hole my wife didn't talk to me for a week. lol
I just got the new dji mavic 2 drone and the active tracking on it seems pretty awesome, it would probably work great for filming mudlyfe clips. That was you could all be in the car and still get great footage! Not in the dark like here of course but for future endevours. I have only tried tracking myself running around yet but the fairly slow goings of mudding I would think it would have no problems. I'll post a link when I give it a go for myself!
Ok so I've tested the active track on my drone and it works really good! It only lost me a couple times. Here is a link to a little video I made: ua-cam.com/video/rrtIn37lsgk/v-deo.html
You guys deserve all the love and support and you get! I was really happy for you all when you said who the package was from. #ProjectMudLyfe is my favourite one of your vehicles I think!
Too Funny.... I was just thinking why you guys don't hit the ditch again. I laughed my ass off. Dead people ass.. Great video as always keep up the good work. Glad to see the haters still take time to watch your videos too. They really have nothing better to do than give a thumbs down to the video. REALLY?? So Sad!
Choke the axle stub with a ratchet strap. Hook the ratchet on the end of the a arm, tighten it up, give it about three cranks, tap it hard one time with a long punch or drift and it'll pop right out.
Back when I worked in the dealership they had a dealer tool made specific for pulling the axles. It was a cup that fit around the axle that went into the transaxle and then it attaches to a big slide hammer to pull them out.
Beards& Cars I was going to recommend the exact same thing, used this in my dads shop all the time. Only challenge is space to get it in position... Chris
I tried that boot bullshat as well and went the same route. Not recommended by Polaris, but there was no other choice and she’s been good since. I can’t wreck a tight hole.
Stupid question I am sure but did you put oil in the portholes? Just seems weird that you broke those axils! But I am sure I don’t know what I am talking about. Thanks for sharing that thing is a beast!
I'm wondering if the lift you put on isn't putting your CV's at too sharp and angle and they get overworked at high speed. You have enough lift with the portals don't you? Why put a 2" lift over the portals? Get that 2" lift off and the CV's won't be overworked.
Denis LeBlanc I have a friend put on a 4 inch highlifter lift on his new ranger Northstar Edition. Should he be worried? I’m getting one soon, and I’m going to get 4” portals instead. $300 vs $3000. Do you think portals are worth it? Also because of the gear reduction with portals, will I gain some top end by putting on 30” tires?
@@I_AM_HUGO If the lift doesn't put the CV joints at a much steeper angle he's alright. Unfortunately there are only 2 ways plus portals. The first is to change A-arms and axles to longer ones, the second is to lower the diff.
Denis LeBlanc thank you. Im just trying to figure out if it was the 2 inch lift that caused this. The 4 inch lift I saw didn’t give the axels that much more of an angle. Does anyone know if the portals are meant for long high speed trips?
Take the shock off and use a ratchet strap and wrap around the bell. The other end of your ratchet strap that you ratchet wrap around your hub and work the ratchet until it is tight then push down on your a-arm
That's where Doug got the hat he was wearing in the other vid. I want one of those hoodies! Ill pay for shipping. PLEASE...That boot tool portion was interesting to say the least, ahah
You get some custom hat's to wear instead of the Elmer fudd hat's you normally wear and you decide to get grease all over it, dangit Doug ? No respect for Bryce's gift's, damnit man.
Great video👌very educational📚📚🛠🔧🔩 for me👨🔧. Love it.
Trained professionals with sandals. Killing me smalls. Keep pumping the vidjjjjjeeeeooooos out!
IT LIVES !!!!!!! 😎👍 NICE JOB BOYS
Glad you guys are stoked on the gear! Hope to see you guys at Camp RZR!
Absolutely! Lookin forward to it!
bonus footage was gold

Is it because of the 4" lift and the resultant CV angle?
Cannibal440 I know that I run a 4" CATVOS lift on my Commander plus a 2" spring puck lift and I only break my CV Joints on one axle on the front but, I don't run mine on the road at higher speeds for any length of time but from some other people I've talked to the boots get to hot and start blowing up like a balloon till they explode and I'm not sure about the lift part but I'm sure it has a hand in it plus the type grease may also have some play in it.
I’ve rebuilt multiple axles on Honda’s not Polaris but there’s a ring on the inside of the cup on the inner cup
@ 11:00 that black warhead has too much girth!
Wish you guys could fix my 1985 atc Honda 200 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Great video as usual, I vote for more videos with senior! Great job
Part of all the fun is breaking and then learning to fix/upgrade. You guys are awesome!
I cut the boot stretcher in half. Works better
Great video guys 🤯 🙃 110
You need to turn Mudlyfe into Skeglife call ostacruiser!!!
Watching your vids always feels like hanging out with friends.
Time to run through the ditch with each machine to see how they compare to the Ranger, ie show how sweet that thing really is.
I use a dollar store safety cone ;)
Great content as usual love the vids guys
The guys talking about spitting on & stretching a small hole...and Dougs Dad just giggling in the background. Priceless.
And immediately gets in on the action...LOL!
LOL! Yeah, Doug's Dad refrained from any comment there! Haha.
Is Doug wearing a killdozer shirt? haha
Aggressive Dozing shirt! lol
Perhaps you should trailer it from the garage to the mud hole and back so you you don’t overheat the axles
Next up.... mud gauntlet time trials...
Okay guys so where do I get that Harbor Freight Jack extension from ??
Get an exhaust for it
New t-shirt: “Dougisms - ‘Sometimes you break crap’.”
I want a hat like that
Would Polaris Ranger portals fit on sportsman highlifter 850

To keep axial boots from exploding, install under the boots and clamps wd40 straws to vent axles. It will help a lot
My dad did a little bit of work on Bryce Menzies truck
Hell ya!
That’s a fun tool, put that back in my top drawer. 🤣
It’s not deep untill the waters over the top of steering wheel
Good lawd
It ain't muddin if it ain't stinky!!! Lol mud lyfe is a beast!!!
The cv joint has a small pain int the ass snap ring inside
Man I'd love to ride with y'all one of these days. Should bring mudlyfe to Louisiana
You guys deserve all the love and support and you get! I was really happy for you all when you said who the package was from. #ProjectMudLyfe is my favourite one of your vehicles I think!
coffee and sxsblog.com in da mornin 👍🏼

"I'd hang out the window but I'm afraid of getting covered by that dead person ass" classic!
Bwhaha doug's dad trying to hold it together when he hears spit on it.
You guys are awesome and really enjoy the vids. Kudos on the new build!
That moment when you been watching sxs blog since the beginning and hear them mentioned on ABC channel
I heard about that. Awesome!
You have to buy the universal boot for the trail repair kit from all balls racing to use that tool. Love the vids keep up the good work.
I know, I just wanted to see Doug struggle lol
Thanks again for the great video! I learn from you’re mistakes too! Lol
Gotta love the stagnant "poo water" LMAO ! Priceless Outro, boys!
Bonus footage!!!
No one likes a stinky hole....😂😂😂😂😂😂
Choke the axle stub with a ratchet strap. Hook the ratchet on the end of the a arm, tighten it up, give it about three cranks, tap it hard one time with a long punch or drift and it'll pop right out.
Use a texas twister with an air hammer and a axle puller piece.
I bet if the boot had hair around it Doug would stretch it no problem!
You all need to come to the hatfield and mocoy trail if you haven’t in West Virginia
Nice honesty and real life problems.....keep er up.....that’s what she said....🤪😜👍
Update.. the septic system has a run off in to the ditch lol. Also curious the portals are they 30% reduction ?
Can we see another machine go through the mud ditch for comparison purposes?
Back when I worked in the dealership they had a dealer tool made specific for pulling the axles. It was a cup that fit around the axle that went into the transaxle and then it attaches to a big slide hammer to pull them out.
Menzies' camp rocks. Very cool.
I work at the Polaris dealership My the morning and putting together the new razor Turbo S
You have to use the company's boot its more stretchy. Silicon I think. Awesome mud.
Need to go deeper
Weld a slide hammer to a vise grip pliers. Works like a champ
Beards& Cars I was going to recommend the exact same thing, used this in my dads shop all the time. Only challenge is space to get it in position...
Chris
This! So this!
I just rhino lined my rzr. Something you guys should think about doing to mud life. It's gonna look mean af.
Ditch footage looks like Blair Witch. I think I saw someone run across the ditch just outside the range of the lights.
Bonus clip!!! We need more ditch video. Maybe talk Sous into giving us a comparison!!!
I tried that boot bullshat as well and went the same route. Not recommended by Polaris, but there was no other choice and she’s been good since. I can’t wreck a tight hole.
Slide hammer welded to an exhaust clamp. We break quite a few axles and it works like a charm. I may have a vid posted of it. You guys rock.
put a wrench on the shaft of the screwdriver and twist
Stupid question I am sure but did you put oil in the portholes? Just seems weird that you broke those axils! But I am sure I don’t know what I am talking about. Thanks for sharing that thing is a beast!
Who's wife donated the "boot stretcher"?
these innuendos!!!!
Love the Video, Love the rigs, Ever thought of getting a X3 MR turbo to go with your mudlyfe?
Now that I've seen you have trouble with a few broken axles,I'm going to suggest a slide hammer with a cable attachment to remove those cups.
Rcv
I use a air chisel with a big flat blade
Wanna see Doug's dad rippin
I'm wondering if the lift you put on isn't putting your CV's at too sharp and angle and they get overworked at high speed. You have enough lift with the portals don't you? Why put a 2" lift over the portals? Get that 2" lift off and the CV's won't be overworked.
True. The more angle you add to a CV joint, the more heat it will disperse. Especially at high speeds for a long period of time.
Then..... you factor in deep sand! takes glasses off and says... OMG!!!

Boil some water and let the boot sit in the water for a couple mins before, pulling over
Only the soft rubber reboot boots are able to stretch
Take the shock off and use a ratchet strap and wrap around the bell. The other end of your ratchet strap that you ratchet wrap around your hub and work the ratchet until it is tight then push down on your a-arm
Wrap a ratchet strap around it three times to the hook and wrap the other end around a pipe wrench and pull like hell!!!
Put anti-seize on the splines before u put the axle back in the diff. Save a bunch of time the next time u remove it.
That's where Doug got the hat he was wearing in the other vid. I want one of those hoodies! Ill pay for shipping. PLEASE...That boot tool portion was interesting to say the least, ahah
Dead person ass!😄 that's the first time I have ever heard that.
I'm using it now!
Don't force it....get a bigger hammer....
Dude, I love Doug’s Dad!
Yes a Saturday afternoon video... But Doug I want to see safety glasses next time you working that grinder
Just spit on it😂😂😂
keep up the good vids
Dont yank on that thing to hard kids... lmao
Let’s get R done!
Ehhhhhhwww it smells so bad dead person ass haha i was laughing write with yall.
"totally our fault on the axles" all you did was fuckin drive it in a straight line.. those axles are junk
You get some custom hat's to wear instead of the Elmer fudd hat's you normally wear and you decide to get grease all over it, dangit Doug ? No respect for Bryce's gift's, damnit man.
Giveawayoftheday ?! ;) ;)
😎🤙🏻 going to be badass
Thumbs up before I even watch! You guys are the shiz
I thought when you got to the bottom of the box they had enclosed a nudey magazine. That would have been funny and weird
Great vid, just quit your jobs and make videos full time already.
LOL!!👍👍
