- We visited this little Bavarian town of Leavenworth in Washington during December’s Festival of Lights. It is a 2 hours drive east of Seattle, and 4 hours from Vancouver where we are from.
Leavenworth hosts many different festivals throughout the year in each season but we’ve always wanted to visit in the winter. We did a few special activities, and stayed at two beautiful places during our stay, and ate a lot of German sausages and bratwurst. Follow along our itinerary and enjoy the ride of Leavenworth!
IITINERARY:
Day 1:
Arrive in Leavenworth
Dinner at München Haus
Walk around town
Icicle Brewing Company
LOGE Riverside Cabin
Day 2:
Brunch at Baren Haus
Reindeer Farm
Sleigh Ride with Icicle Outfitters
Back to town for souvenirs, gift shops
The Gingerbread House
The Cheesemongers Shop
The Danish Bakery
Nutcracker Museum
Dinner at Andreas Keller
Sleeping Lady Resort
Day 3:
Your choice of brunch (we picked München Haus again)
Kris Kringl Store
Leave Leavenworth for a long drive home

Everything in the video! Reindeer farm, sleigh rides, food in the town, the many stores in town.. their website has a calendar of all their events coming up!!

@Annie I want to visit Leavenworth this Winter 2023, right after Christmas. How many days do you recommend to relax and enjoy this town? Recommend a place to stay?
I recommend about 2-3 days for full relaxation! I recommend either LOGE which has two locations: riverside and downtown.. or Sleeping Lady Resort! Both are really good!
I live in Texas. I am planning to visit Leavenworth and Lake Chelan this December. Are we sure it is gonna snow in 1st and 2nd weeks of December ?
Unfortunately no guarantees about weather, but we had snow first week of dec last year when we went, so stay hopeful! Anything can happen ❄️
For a family of ten where do you recommend staying and also how far out do you recommend ?
Sleeping Lady resort has a family rooms! It’s also only 7-8min drive out from the town

@@michaelrodriquez5214 sorry I meant mid/beginning of December! But actually yes even into January, Leavenworth has a winter festival that is different to Christmas town (you can find this on their website of all their schedules closer to nov dec)

Some sections are snowy but roads are still paved, definitely recommend snow tires though for the winter on the highways
