Love that snare plugin! And after a couple of days using it on literaly everything, Ive realized it has a Dr. Bob preset, so I said: lets give it a try.... And suddenly.... BOOM!!! that fat snare sound i was looking for!!!Thanks for everything Bob!
Okay I'm finally subscribed. I watch you all the time and you are in my feed so I thought I already was subscribed. Apologies. Great stuff as always Bobby, I like to widen my vocals a bit more during choruses as well, but looking forward to trying this!!
Hard panning can definitely be cool. I rarely do it but only because in a live setting, both ears would still hear that guitar on the right side of the room. So I usually go 85-90 right or left.
Bob, thanks for the good tips. Question:. I don't have a DAW but a 2004-ish AKAI DPS 24 all in one 24 track digital recorder. If I don't have plug-ins and don't use a DAW, what would be a a substitute for a "widener" plug-in? Thanks!
Thanks Bobby.. must try those tricks... I do not understand when you say the snare is in MONO though.. I use the snare sounds I downloaded from you and they are stereo files?.. Also.. what frequency did you boost for the chorus guitars.. and why not keep the EQ and level boost for the entire chorus?
They are stereo files but the snare is in mono. The room files are stereo. I boosted around 2K and the reason I don’t keep that EQ in the entire course is so that it won’t interfere with the vocal.
Dr B - amazingly simple way to get listeners' attention. It really works - thanks for sharing.
Thanks Steven!

Very cool. Thanks Dr Bob. Great stuff.

I assumed it was some type of widening but I wasn't expecting the little volume/eq bump. BTW Liquid Death Snare is free right now!

Do you think analogue summing improves warmth, depth and with it mid/side soundscape width? Love from London UK 🇬🇧 😊
I have analogue summing and havent used it on years as plugins have become so good! Doesnt mean you shouldnt try it ans see what you think!
You didn't say what frequency you are boosting though? I'm assuming upper-midrange, but I couldn't quite make it out.
U think it was around 2k but you can use your ear on the particular guitars you have to find the sweet spot.
red is new orange :D good stuff though :D peace
Nicey Nice!😊🤘
Thanks mike!
Finally, guitars, but you’re a drummer, who really helped you with this?
Where's the beard Doc?
Hahahaha.....Growing again!
