As someone who's not a fan of Itzy, i've never understood the hate that these girls get. I've been keeping an eye on them ever since they've debuted and people were getting "tired" of them ever since their first comeback, and by their second comeback people were demanding that they change their concept because it was "too repetitive"; then they change the concept a little bit and people start attacking them for "not being consistent". Sadly it seems like this is one of those groups that's gonna do "wrong" no matter what, i just hope that the support of their fans is enough to keep them afloat
So true, I start stanning Itzy months before they have Checkmate comeback, and they have lot of hate for not to change their concept, and when they change it they got hate too, it's so sad, and I hope people stop hating on them, because they are so talented, and deserve lot of love
Like any artist, their will be a time that some songs hit and some do not, and thats completely normal.Though I still believe that Itzy is still one of the best 4th gem girl groups and still very young, and will have more unique comebacks yet to come. So no hate lol 😆
Unfortunately the kpop industry is much more ruthless so drops on popularity can be particularly concerning as the label might just move on to a newer group who brings in the numbers and give them the best concepts and music. It is kinda ironical tho that the downfall is highly likely due to the companies trying to milk money and the artists not having as much creative freedom as in the western pop industry.
I've been going to concerts for over 20 years, and the Itzy show in Atlanta was one of the loudest shows I've been to in a long time when it came to crowd participation. They're doing just fine.
@chaerrosie then why have their fame been going downhill since 2021, the songs they release now are just not people's taste, on everything they are flopping
@Marina G ticket sales will always show how well a band or group is doing. Once that starts going down, then you have a problem. Getting people to vote for you for silly awards is easy. Getting people to pay money and take time to go to your show. Much harder. They're doing just fine.
@@JesusRamirez-mw9sd yeah i know, but that still doesnt show how their music has been going downhill since 2021, for a top 4th gen group now releasing mid music back to back, i know not every song can be a hit, and u can make a comeback or 2 which werent hits, but itzy has been doing the same for 2 years (7mvs), and this is just my taste, this os for the majority of people, why they still have people going to their concerts are because how good their performance are, their visuals, and because of their die hard fans, and because of how popular they were before
@@itsmarinaaa only because people don’t like their songs sneakers and maybe Cheshire, doesn’t mean the songs didn’t do well. They have done really well on billboards as the UA-camr says, but every and I’m saying every group will make a bad song in their career. And their selling out tickets for their concerts all the time. So I can’t really say they’re losing popularity. Just because some people don’t like them.
ITZY isnt flopping. Ofc newer groups are always hot at first but its after those first couple of years you’ll see if a group can withstand it all or just a one-hit-wonder… and with how ITZY is doing now and their success despite ALL of it just proves they are here to stay and be legendary 👑 In ITZY we trust. Proud to be with ITZY 💕
the general public's motto is "new is always better". My faith and trust in ITZY will never be shaken. Call them whst you want BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT THEY ARE QUEENS.
Faxx, just like in any music industry the newer the artist the bigger the hype there is only some artist that can gone for years but still maintaining the hype like taylor swift, kendrick lamar, sza, and any artist with a cult following. Especially now, kpop is oversaturated so it's normal for itzy hype kinda slow down with newer artist keep on coming, but they already have a strong following it just a matter how long can they maintain the succes and keep developing as an artist.
I don't think it has to do with new is always better, alot of groups maintain their level of success like BP, Twice, G-Idle even tho there's newer groups their sales are consistent. JYP keeps giving to Itzy one cringy song after the other and judging by their sales and music show wins their fandom keeps migrating, it almost seems like they're outgrowing ITZY's music
We know where that meaning came from, big 3 watching BTS meaning's since 2017 Love Yourself Trilogy, after BTS LYT everybody started using Self Love and confidence using the same which BTS used prior
Jyp doesn’t care about general public he cares about creating solid fan bases that will not leave no matter how a group performs. It’s not about the moment it’s about longevity
Seldom happen to JYPE group. IMO, SME and YGE really captures the longevity of fanbase. I think.. JYPE should ignore the MissA trauma.. and start to push them individually one at a time
Cheshire is doing very well, considering Itzy got the 1st place music show win after a little over a week after it was released. They also received two awards at AAA. They have been overworked for sure. They just finished world tour in U.S. but they already scheduled world tour in Asia for 2023. I don’t think any group that has won as many awards as Itzy should be considered a test group.
@@hibeautym Music shows have changed the criteria most groups will never get 9/10 wins. Music show wins mean zero. Album sales and tours make companies money. Streaming doesn't pay much at all so ITZY is doing what ITZY needs to do and that is sell albums and tickets. Music shows are for fans to brag about nothing more.
@@incheonguy Chesire 1st day album sales - 275, 000 Aespa girls 1st day - 806,891 Ive after like 1st day - 464 , 690 New jeans- 262, 800 Literally everyone who debuted after Itzy doing amazing. Itzy even after so many years doesn’t sell much physical albums.
ITZY’s new mini album “CHESHIRE” debuted at No. 2 on the World Albums chart, and it also became their fourth album to enter the Billboard 200. It's interesting how people want to say top groups are failing but the news tells otherwise. 4th gen is very different. We have had so many amazing groups come out fighting for the "top spot" and it seems to just be jumping around. No one in 4th gen is staying #1 for too long, but with a lot of good groups it's kind of a toss up as to who will dominate from month to month. If it keeps going this direction then we might not see another Black Pink or BTS who dominate everything, which is a good thing imo because that means there's more variety and excitement.
@@Tyla_Stan it's not a brag when it's true. I want more variety not the same groups over and over taking the top spots. Maybe because I am not a huge BP or BTS fan and not a solo group Stan but a multi is why I want more.
@@sophial3151 Girl, what you said is absolutely true! Don't let salty haters make you feel you have to defend your own opinion! I agree 💯 with what you said. I'm a multi stan, and bts & bp are not groups I stan. I love lots of groups and I just want more good music. Variety is the spice of life, not the same ol group winning everything. Esp when that groups' music is sub-par at best! The music should judged, not a groups' popularity by whose fans who wouldn't know real music if it bit them on the arse!
y'all are getting too desperate. they are literally by far (along with aespa) the most famous gg of this generation. their last FOUR albums charted on billboard 200, with cheshire DEBUTING at number 36. they are doing perfectly fine. they also reached 1 million sales with the checkmate album and have the most viewed fancams, music videos, most awards and more among 4th gen girl groups. they are literally GAINING popularity, not losing it. they are simply less relevant. you can't compare a big 3 group's success at debut with the success they have now, obviously they will be more relevant at debut
Thank you for saying that!!!.. people have this really strange " obsession" with focusing solely on their "popularity decline" without keeping in mind that itzy is about to be a 4 year girl group... they've been around and it's only natural for people to be interested in new groups and besides that, they managed to build themselves a solid fan base of their own!!
Nah, we were all thinking about it. ITZY fell off far behind Aespa and IVE also a number 36 on BB200 is nothing to brag about hun, that's embarassing after SKZ & BP number 1 and Twice number 3 lmao also Twice, BP, Girls Generation, Aespa and so many other GGs had bigger sales and success years after their debuts so you're also wrong about that. The groups that peak at their debut and then decline only show that they they didn't have staying power or a strong fandom
fr, i’ve been meeting so many new gp fans of itzy recently. if anything it’s the loud minority that keeps harking that itzy flopped in order to convince the rest of the population of their skewed opinion.
@@Terry_Bellwho’s entire u.s. tour sold out in hours? who’s the fourth most streamed girl group globally in 2021 and 2022? who is the only girl group to have two albums chart for more than 20 weeks on billboard? I could list so many more achievements.
They are doing more than fine - JYP understands that in order to build a diverse fan base, the music needs to be experimental and of varying genres that appeals to different category of listeners. If you think from that perspective, it is no wonder that some folks will like some songs but hate others. But the numbers speak for themselves. On social, they also have the best social media execution compared to other GGs, with forward looking focus on Tiktok / Discord / IG. Content wise - they are also most consistent with cadence of new content releases. Not all will be loved but they are doing more than fine. The range of discography and content is consistent with the fandom strategy as opposed to the popularity strategy
Itzy just had a bad few comebacks, and now they’re back to the old itzy more. They’re my personal favorite group, and I’ve loved every song, but sneakers, and even if these songs are ‘bad’, then why do people listen to and buy the album?
People will always hate what other people like. I like these songs and I think that ITZY made songs which, I too, liked every single one of them as well.
they have a good fandom that still buy even if is bad but the general public don't listen to it anymore cause is bad which is something that didn't happen before
i won't lie. i was a diehard fan of itzy. everytime i used to watch itzy mvs, extra videos and their powerful stage performances especially mama, mma, aaa etc. i'm still a fan but not like before. bcz their music quality is really going down day by day. but i liked cheshire little bit. and their performances are not like before nowadays. they used to do dance breaks. i don't want them to do dance break everytime but i'm saying how they used to do it before. if jype starts giving them good quality music in the future then i will be really happy bcz these girls are talented. and i remember how everyone was so hype for itzy. people only talked about itzy. i want to see that hype again
Yes I agree. Although her vocals aren’t as exceptional as let’s say Billlie or Purple Kiss, I think it shouldn’t be a reason for her to get a lot of unnecessary hate
I think Itzy will always be popular, even though they don’t comeback often or do much promotions or things like that, they’re one of the greatest groups in the 4th gen and they have a very supportive fanbase and no controversial rumors at all, they’re receiving useless hate and people try to find why they should be hated but they’re too clean It’s clear that Jyp needs to do something with Itzy, they’re really talented and showed how much they love to sing dance and perform, jyp is just ruining them
@@acejungkook3664 true. Ryujin, Yeji and Yuna already has the star power and with Chaeryoung's increase popularity recently JYPE should really capitalize on it
itzy is not a flop, every comeback they made is all a hit for charts, just some people didn't appreciate itzy's hardwork but all of their songs are so good that's all refreshing. It's normal that netizens won't look at them after so many gg debuted this year and fact that itzy is still slaying, itzy is all the you are looking for, their are talented girls who can do everything i love them sm
Honestly I love all Itzy's comebacks whether they be girlcrush or not a song is a song to me Itzy was my most listened to artist this year on spotify because I just enjoy their songs so much and it baffles me with fans they want something different they got it but are upset because it's not what they want like make your damn minds up
I enjoy Itzy’s song a lot, I just appreciate what they have there. If I don’t like it, I prefer to not be loud about it and focus more on the songs I enjoy.
Fun fact i remember when ITZY release wannabe people said ITZY just doing the same thing either concept wise or sound wise, but now they trying new things concept wise and sounds wise people said i miss the old ITZY. And i want to quote tyler the creator "if you miss my old sounds just listen to them they are available for you to listen".
surprises me that people didnt like MITM and not shy.. and even loco. those were bangers. sneakers maybe im a little too old to appreciate it. cheshire i dont feel it at all
I feel like it’s a little weird that their success in American charts was not mentioned. Their last 3 consective albums charted well in billboard 200. Just because they aren’t doing well in Korea doesn’t mean they aren’t doing well. Also in my opinion NMixx is not it. I hope Itzy continues to put out music and can start to be themselves more.
They are doing well in Korea who do you think bought all those albums. It was not the USA. Not with 80k ish for Checkmate and 30k for Cheshire so far. ITZY has over 1 million sold for Checkmate and 850k Plus for Cheshire already and 90% of those sales are in Korea and Asia
Cheshire is such a great comeback I hope next comeback can get more midzys back I mean sneakers teasers were WAYYY different than the actual song 😭but I’ll always be there for our girls
MIDZY are always here, don't confuse the fans from that other group who made fake accounts saying they are midzy just to shit on the song as actual real fans..
@Incheon Guy i get what you mean, but a lot of true midzys have lost interest, like myself. obviously no one should be hating on them but they are losing fans
I really loved all of ITZY’s songs.. I’m not a die hard fan of them, but their songs always give me that morning confidence boost before I go to work (especially Wannabe and MITM). I wish for them to be continually successful. I miss that kind of sound on their recent songs though..
I also just remembered: Itzy basically debuted right before covid - so they weren’t able to do a lot of variety shows. By the time covid was out of the way, they were gone on tour.
Even if it didn't do too well for the general audience, I really really loved "Mafia in the morning"! I loved the mature concept, the dance, the sound and the visuals. It was Itzy's only song that risked being a bit different, before they kinda fell back into their regular music pattern.
I didn't get the hate on Mafia. I was like great, finally something a little different and not so shrill with their voices. They finally hooked me after ignoring them the first couple of years except Wannabe. The video was tooooooo good.
Except Stray Kids(self produced), the quality of Jyp's music is so down & most of them arent doing well too. Itzy, Nmixx, Twice etc.. The competition is so high, they should do something asap
Dude no hate but starykids some songs r really meaningless loud hip hop. I love some of their songs like back door maniac etc . On the other hand pop and talk that talk were not that bad.
@@sarangheo3294 just because it’s loud, doesn’t mean it’s meaningless. They love their hip hop because they started rapping underground and had a very tough time, their stories are very deep actually but that’s not all. If you‘d listen to their discography you‘d know. They have plenty of different genres, even ballads and OST‘s and their songs talk about topics that people in kpop usually don’t want to address like depression, mental health, comparing yourself with others and very personal stories, especially from their trainee days, the hate they received etc.
@@daliaa.9705 first of all I know how they struggled.. I think most of the times it's boy groups that have to work extra hard. Also I didn't tell all the songs r meaningless and all . I love them and some of their songs. But not all the time. It's just my personal opinion..
@@daliaa.9705 also I think now it's a common thing to make music about struggle and all. But all of them r not catchy or good. I mean it's a good thing if anyone make songs what they went through but it's not necessary that all of them will be good. I personally sometimes find their music to loud . That's my opinion.
i've noticed that jyp girl groups usually start off strong but eventually, their popularity declines for some reason and i blame that on jyp. it all started with wonder girls. they were MASSIVELY popular with their hit song "nobody" and it was impressive how it spread throughout other countries considering social media wasn't widespread. now, their popularity declined whereas 2ne1 and SNSD are still well-known even after the disbandment and hiatus. unfortunately, twice is also following wonder girls' footsteps. yes, they're still popular though they're not making much noise as they used to. from being chart monsters to freefalling from the charts even though they released quite good songs. now, i see a similar pattern happening to itzy and also with nmixx. the problem with jyp is that they mass release so many comebacks that there's no anticipation anymore, making their artists overwork. it's such a shame that wonder girls was the leading gg household name in 2nd gen then jyp just wasted it. Edit: I would also add Miss A here. Another good GG that JYP wasted.
Tbh, NMIXX didn't do well for a JYPE girl group. Their debut tanked. DICE did do slightly better. But, with the departure of Jinni, who knows what is going to happen. I also agree that ITZY is receiving the same Miss A treatment. It doesn't help that their story are so similar. From the breakout debut to the declining popularity.
@@tiredbylife.5589 yes! agree. I think JYP had a vision with NMIXX and seeing how the experimentation of songs caused a massive success to aespa and in just general SM’s trademark, JYP wanted to give it a try yet it failed instead.
@@tiredbylife.5589 I also forgot to mention Miss A. Honestly, they had a big potential to be one of the best and well known girl groups yet JYP blew it.
@@hibeautym the anticipation of fans from their groups are gone because of Jyp's kind of promotion to their idols the company give so much promotion from their idols in their starting careers that is why people lost their interest in jyp's group. I might get hate, but I did like boys like you and sneakers. I thought they were fun and cute! With Cheshire, I’m starting to see some of the old Itzy and I’m so excited!
BLY and sneakers are bops though. I don't get the hate, if people say it's cringey, i think most kpop songs are cringey unless you get a hang of it. I dislike antifragile at first because some of the lyrics seems off especially the lion and rising part but where am i now? Dancing along to antifragile. 😂 Same goes with red velvet's birthday.
they are quite literally doing great, it is really just the hype around all the new groups that is taking some of the spotlight from them. there has been a shift in kpop recently where people have gotten too used to having something new and great all the time. The industry has become massively oversaturated so if you aren't new and shiny people don't want it. The long-time fans will always be there and that is what matters.
Sorry but I’m not into kpop fan before but I became one bec of sneakers era. I was amazed by Lia’s voice specially and they are all talented. I love Boys Like You and I listened to it almost everyday. I went to their concert for the first time here in LA my goodness no boring moments very talented girls. I can’t wait for the next concert.
@@rosefulmadness bro just bc u dont like sneakers doesnt mean its their worst song, it charted super well in kr 😭😭 i swear some midzys r just scared of something new and different
Dalla dalla, icy, and wannabe was peak ITZY. Then when JYPE teased a “royal” concept, and then had them release sneakers was the biggest troll move…it made me lose my interest in ITZY completely.
It’s mismanagement and lack of direction. If they stick to the dalla icy wannabe concept they’ll be fine. But sneakers, cake, high school musical concept won’t cut it. SKZ and twice are consistent with one concept and they’re still thriving. Not sure why they doing this to such a talented group.
theyre still doing amazing, better than ever honestly, the ppl saying they fell off are just losing interest becuz so many girl groups are debuting (which means more competition), you never see ppl saying 4th gen boy groups "fell off" even tho most of them ACTUALLY did...
To me kpop is falling off on general. The music is becoming boring and all the same and it's all about selling and not music anymore. I'm a big fan of stray kids they're my ult but their releases are becoming disappointing like lots of groups. Kpop just needs to slow down.
@@salambo6512 i don’t think it’s falling off i think too many ppl are becoming fans and too many groups are being produced which is makin it feel so boring… it feels like a new group is debuting (esp from hybe) every other day now, it used to be so mysterious and exciting when a big company announced a new group but now it’s WAYY too much. def agree kpop needs to slow tf down.
I’m sorry but 4th generation for boys absolutely flopped. The only ones surviving are ATEEZ SKZ TXT AND ENHYPEN everyone else is fighting to stay afloat. And I think the problem so many groups that debuted this year have “X” in there name and are 3 let’s long like please come up with more creative names. And all the music is just noise music. Fans are tired of noise music hence girls this year did so much better because the music is melodic.
@@kadenedits6586 Not all 4th gen bg releases are noise. People just don't want to listen them or give them a chance and then show up with this 'noise music' excuse. Just say you prefer gg over bg.
Did you go to their concert in the states? Sold out in minutes and the line could stretch around the arena twice over. People lined up 8 hours in advance in the cold.
I like itzy. I always know I'm gonna get: powerhouse dancing, not powerhouse singing. They have a super young vibe. Having a signature style isn't necessarily bad. An itzy song is definitely an itzy song. The problem with starting out on top is that there's only one direction you can go.....
What’s success? Being viral? A lot of their songs became viral (the choreography too). But there’s no recipe for being viral, and it’s virtually impossible to maintain that. The Cheshire album sales broke the groups own records. They are doing well, but this year included a lot of new rookies and new always gains more attention. I think 2023 is going to see them get back on track, because they are doing great, and they are a group that is evolving.
I love Mafia, Loco and Not Shy. So saying that it was the start of their downfall made me question myself 😅😅 I will still keep them on my playlist tho. idc what others say. they are bop! But I agree that the last comeback is lackluster. they started with the boss vibe, now they are like high school it girls.
People are saying that because Wannabe is Itzy's peak. Loco, Not Shy and MITM were freaking bops but people are just expecting that they will release a Wannabe type song again and again lmao people are delusional. Funny how people are talking about Itzy's downfall when they just released 2 songs that are not as well liked as the previous ones. Glad they release Cheshire though, they seem to be in the right direction again.
they are not flopping, this group is still a big hit, right now there is a lot of 4th gen groups coming into the kpop industry, so there is a lot of people testing the waters with the new groups, it's only natural, why do people always have to turn it negative, why can't people just accept and enjoy the music we all love!
This is just sad, along with this video like this. idk why people are saying they are flopping and how Cheshire “saved” them or that they are falling off. I personally love sneakers and boys like you. Since boys like you was their first English song, it’s sad how “midzy’s” are bashing them cuz it sounds like “love story” and how it sounds like a Disney love movie/ show. And honestly Cheshire, sneakers, boys like you, are definitely one of my favs. I saw them on oct 26th and they carried. I also hate how people bash on one member then find a way to bash on the other members. And as a midzy I’m disappointed with other “Midzy’s”. And I hate how people bash on Lia’s dancing and singing, i heard her sing live and her voice and dancing is incredible:(
I see people complicating the problem, but if you ask me, the main problem is the song choices. They should hire a great producer that is able to make catchy songs because in the end, music is what they're selling. There's a reason why Dalla Dalla and Wanna Be is their most popular songs. Let that sync in.
In popularity aspects, they're getting more and more popular. From charting on billboard popular album with Checkmate at #8 To Charting with Cheshire on billboard world popular album #2 Cheshire top album sales on billboard #4 All their comebacks makes them more and more popular.
“Don’t have the star quality to attack people,” tell that to the thousands of people Constantly making fan accounts and appreciation edits of all 5 members, whoever said that is spilling bs
The thing is’ IVE, LESSERAFIM, New Jeans, and G-Idle are releasing consistently good songs and being managed effectively. ITZY is stuck in their debut era. Even Aespa and Kepler are catching up to them.
For me itzys members are all so well rounded and are continually improving and getting stronger. I hope more people get to discover the gem that is itzy. Really fun and their music is so nice, as in for me all the aspects of their songs are really well placed and compliments everything their sound their voices, lyrics the beats, just everything for me is amazing. I always cant wait for their new releases that I keep going back to their dance performances and fan services like their shorts, part switches etc. I keep wanting to see more content from them. Amazing girls.
They had plenty of chances to show their individual skills at the concert where they all got their own solo covers. We saw that first with ITZY and it didn't happen for Twice until this recent tour they are on right now.
you guys keep overlooking this istg there will always be a time were people wont like their songs not only itzy but other groups that are debuting now will most likely experience this i actually cant believed you guys actually went so far to saying they are an experimental/test group literally you guys said that you wanted a different sound because there being confident in your self concept was apparently boring and repetitive to you so when they try something fresh but when that happens all of a sudden they want to start liking their old concepts saying that they should've never changed their sound. honestly im glad itzy changed their sounds cuz it did a whole fandom reset or whatever.
People Calling Twice and Itzy Flop, but they still two of the top GG. I don't know what the criteria for "FLOP Group". I Mean if your group can't get something that these 2 group already get, it mean your group also FLOP. I Mean how can these new kpop fans Calling them FLOP.
People are over analyzing this whole situation, just one bad comeback and they start calling them flop and then draw comparison with groups that debuted this year with no comebacks to prove their sustainability in the industry. Honestly the whole thing is so blown of out proportion it's actually crazy
Mind you that Checkmate and Cheshire are a million seller albums. There will be good and bad days and that's totally normal. Itzy has a huge fanbase, they're going to be just fine. I do hope, next comeback, JYP gives them better songs next time. Also, Div2 is so terrible at managing these girls, they need to set up their game coz 4th gen competition is quite tough.
Soon new groups will debut and everyone will flock to them. kpop stans learn to support the new and exciting things. Itzy is doing fine. Considering 4 big new ggs debuted this year, they are doing fine. They sold out all their shows, Sneakers was the highest charting jype song this year, they sold over 2 million albums, Sneakers has over 100M views, Cheshire views have spiked after Yuna went viral so Cheshire might reach 100M before the year ends as well. This wasn't their best year, but they are doing fine.
JYPE / Division 2 is just a horrible at managing ITZY. They constantly overwork ITZY, give them insane schedules, not enough rest, and doesn't properly promote them. They've only started to give them solo opportunities in 2023, 4 years after their debut. 2 world tours, 4 albums, comebacks, and promotions, back to back to back to back with no meaningful breaks in between. Lia couldn't handle it anymore and was forced to take a long hiatus from the group, due to her anemia, depression, severe anxiety, ridiculous schedule, and being hated on for over 4 years. As for all of the hate and criticisms against Lia, they are all so unfair and unfounded. She was the one who got bullied, not the other way around. Lia is an incredible vocalist with 3 amazing OST tracks and 1 awesome original studio track thus far. She has so many great collabs, duets, and cover songs on UA-cam too. Haters targeted Lia to drag ITZY and JYPE did nothing to protect her or the group. ITZY is truly an all ace group. They can do everything incredibly well. They're not just a performance group. Their singing, dancing, visuals, and online content are all top tier. Truly embodies their slogan "All In Us." JYPE / Div2 are just bad at promoting them and letting them rest.
Itzy is doing just fine, they are still fresh, and still are really popular even their concerts are really loud, and the fact that itzy does not have any kind of controversies or rumors or any kind of problem going around, the only problem are the fans and people who listen them, midzy loves them itzy love them back, only one thing that might have hurt them was sneakers but still I think it was a really good song and a little change in concept, you can still see sneakers has more then 100M views, means despite the downhill of sneakers according to some people, it was still a success and what i think is itzy did a fandom cleanse with sneakers and showed who really loves them and who are just normal listeners....... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I'm a midzy and my girls are doing just great, they still are queens.
I wouldn't say their falling, there are times artist won't hit their mark to get some trophy on a shelf. Plus there's a lot of competition for this current generation, I wouldn't really be surprised if they won't get an award or chart lower than other groups for a little bit, especially considering the fact that this might be the most competitive generation for kpop. So, flop? No of course not. Are their recent songs award worthy? Not really. Are they being set up for failure? I wouldn't say so, I think they're just trying to see what works and what doesn't. Either way, keep supporting our girls!
I only have two words: Division 2. JYPE is divided in Divisions and the different groups are managed by the different divisions. Guess what other group was managed by Division 2 that gained some momentum at the start of their career but was completely mismanaged. Right, GOT7. I'm not a Midzy but I'm seeing the same things playing out with them.
I think Division 2 is miscalculating more than mismanaging. They seem to do well on media awareness but do poorly on identifying and then video producing the targeted comeback song. I liked Sneakers as a song but didn’t like the goofy MV, same for Loco. In hindsight, I actually thought the B-Sides on Checkmate were more appealing and should have been pushed more as their Comeback songs. Really liked Domino, 365, Free Fall and What I Want which were well-polished songs for an established 4th Gen group. Will Stan ITZY no matter what…..
Itzy isn’t a flop group at all. They do well. I HATED sneakers bc i could tell they weren’t comfortable in it. But Cheshire is an absolute banger. They are incredibly talented and i hate when people say their vocals aren’t strong. Singers don’t need to constantly be belting out high notes and screaming. Itzy has never been that type of group. Their songs are supposed to be light and fun. But of course they aren’t doing as well as new groups. Compared to groups they debuted with, they’re still absolutely crushing it. They’ve left the 2019-2020 groups in the dust. Also, as a side note… i love that they are true to themselves and don’t care about their “idol image” as much as other fourth gen girl groups that have blown up.
I truly think that everytime itzy releases a song they really show all their arsenal and I can appreciate the growth and development of the group in all their songs. Their vocals are good.
to be quite honest with you, i still think itzy is the top girlgroup of gen4. their popularity is just a little shaken, because people always like to look for new groups (FOMO) but at the end of the day itzy and their catchy sounds still win hearts each day. they have their sound and pep and that's very important - which is why i think they won't be forgotten
IMO, the real problem here is targeting the US market.. it seems everytime these groups (not just JYP's) target Western market, they dumb down their group's style to teeny-bopper vibes kind of music..
Yes the 4th gen ggs competition is really tough. In 2018, g-Idle got so much love because of their concept, Itzy in 2019 boomed because of sync choreo and catchy songs. 2020 came aespa and people loved them because of their unique concept. Now Newjeans, Le sserafim and IVE are thriving because their songs were different ( they explored different genre, not too much noise on songs). Soon a new shiny girl group will debut abd the people's attention will then diverted. As long as you have a loyal fandom, you wil stay long in the industry. Hoping for the best with Itzy.
I think they are doing fine. It is hard to get a cult hit like Wannabe for even the best groups. I always checkout their stuff when they release new things.
It is a fact that no group will stay at the top forever.....I don't know what people are thinking....no matter how good of a song a group always makes....they won't stay at the top forever.... sooner or later people will get tired of the group at the top and start focusing on another group.....that's how the general public is......and it is more evident in groups like ITZY who had instant fame..... Mark my words....all the groups who had instant fame will reach this point (where they start losing popularity) no matter how good of a song they make......and people will use excuses such as "the company is giving them bad songs" "the company is not managing them well" "the company is ignoring them" "the company is setting them up for failure".....to start ignoring the group and focusing on new groups.....just like when ITZY debuted, people criticized TWICE a lot and compared them....people were teasing TWICE because ITZY broke so much record....that was just because they were tired of TWICE being at the top and they were in for a new group.....Just look at how so many girl groups debuted this year.... did you think the general public will just ignore them and keep supporting the old groups.... Nooo.... They will do what they are good at....they will ignore old groups by giving absurd excuses and focus on the new groups....and of course these new groups will one day face what these old groups once faced... Time will tell!
like just look at how ITZY was doing so well with their concept and people started complaining that they wanted them to do something new but as soon as they switched their concept people started ignoring them..... This is one of the effects of instant popularity.....Many 4th generation fans criticize group who do not have instant fame....but they don't know.....not having instant fame is the best a group can have.... Just look at groups whose fame came slowly.....you will understand.
For me NMIXX not starting strong like ITZY is making me have a lot of hope for them.... Even though they debuted this year with other girl groups.....they don't get much attention like the others..... after the public get tired of the other girls....they might start focusing on NMIXX who knows....
In a business' perspective, JYPE or Div02 or whoever is handling Itzy is not solely focused on pleasing the Korean fans. At least 80% of their focus is the international audience. "But, Itzy is a SK-based group/band. Shouldn't they be the one to be pleased first?". Yes. But Korean entertainment in general is blowing up globally. It doesn't hurt to try have a slice of that cake. You can see that even though they are not charting well in the local scene, they are doing fine globally. Last time I checked is that their "Cheshire" album is No.2 in the Billboard Charts. Just next to RM of the freaking-BTS! Wasn't that worth celebrating for? In the end, people will hear what they only want to hear. But facts are facts. And the fact is, Itzy is still leading their generation in flying colors.
Love itzy during dalla dalla and wannabe era but sadly after that i cant find any of their comebacks interesting.. they’re not as interesting in variety shows also 😥
I feel like, for me at least, a lot of Itzy's releases sound like they're written for kids. Like, this is music for tweens. The only Itzy songs I like are Shoot and Mafia in the Morning. Lia has an incredible voice and is more suited to r&b and soul and more sultry sounding music. I'd love to see her do a solo debut with a totally different sound from Itzy. I want to see the group do a vocal showcase. No dancing, no crazy styling or sets, just handheld mics and vocals.
Am not a midzy, but I think itzy is doing good,,competition in 4th gen is real high and most are debuting to raise popularity and forgetting being all abt music ,bse of this groups standing out will be varying alot ....but there doing just fine
I think that Itzys songs have gotten stronger over the years. Personally, Dalla Dalla wasn’t my taste but releases like Mafia In The Morning, Blah Blah Blah, Voltage, Loco, and Cheshire are some of my favorite songs. With the exception of Sneakers and Boys Like You, I like how they’re going music wise.
Funny ive always said to ppl i know personally, that YEJI is that one Idol who has that star quality and always wondered why she didnt or hasnt reach that potential yet! Thats just me...
So we're not gonna see that yeji had a AOTM and a Mix&Max along with Ryujin lets not forget they got a collab stage with BEBE REXHA and a collab version of the original song. Lia also showed up in Lee mujins service last year along with collabing with skz's Bang chan and Felix. As a group they also have a radio live thing ( Forgot the name). I mean it's not like they don't do ANYTHING except comebacks. They also had a reality show with Mnet this year! Let's not forget these people! Them realising 2 Japanese albums 2 Korean albums and 1st English single all in ONE YEAR is a huge thing ofc they are tired but a group that did this much in just a short period of time is VERY ACTIVE
I dont know what peoples want from them but i think they doing so well i really like their songs there r also some groups who not even releasing any album but atleast they making comeback and giving their fans best songs yeah its true thats jyp should give them some solo work bcz in that way people going to recognize them more but i hope that netizen stop blaming them and should support them
I mean how each and every time when the grp is about to become big and suddenly a bullying scandal pops up out of no where. Now I feel companies should check this thing only before letting someon🙄🙄🙄🙄. Why it's school bullying always? Bring out something new people that shit is so old now. Kids do things at young age..that is not a big deal even if it was of the bullying case but even when the charges are dropped people still go after them like the idols have hurt them personally. That is so damn annoying
Yeahhh and BP an BTS tooo
PREEEEACH 😩👏 people are just boring and basic
if i could like this comment 100 times for historic accuracy, i would
So true, I start stanning Itzy months before they have Checkmate comeback, and they have lot of hate for not to change their concept, and when they change it they got hate too, it's so sad, and I hope people stop hating on them, because they are so talented, and deserve lot of love
You're so right about the complaining of repetitive concepts and not being consistent!
Like any artist, their will be a time that some songs hit and some do not, and thats completely normal.Though I still believe that Itzy is still one of the best 4th gem girl groups and still very young, and will have more unique comebacks yet to come. So no hate lol 😆
😆
Exactly
I agree with you Mitzy forever
Unfortunately the kpop industry is much more ruthless so drops on popularity can be particularly concerning as the label might just move on to a newer group who brings in the numbers and give them the best concepts and music.
It is kinda ironical tho that the downfall is highly likely due to the companies trying to milk money and the artists not having as much creative freedom as in the western pop industry.
Yeah it's normal but it has been already 4 comebacks (2 years)
I've been going to concerts for over 20 years, and the Itzy show in Atlanta was one of the loudest shows I've been to in a long time when it came to crowd participation. They're doing just fine.
recently their music has been going downhill, however. of course the show is going to be loud and aggressive because that'll be their close fans.
ICY is a song that will always be in my heart, Lia's honey voice too. Forever.
Same that song is a boo
:) !!!
Exactly !
Facts
100% true!
Yes, like Aespa.
Yes they are lol
the general public's motto is "new is always better". My faith and trust in ITZY will never be shaken. Call them whst you want BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT THEY ARE QUEENS.
i love that .. its new kpopers who hate to have their fav valuable in this gen coz no matter what itzy do itzy is so big
Am I a queen too? 🥹😅
@@Anonymous_770 if you Stan itzy then yes
Dalla Dalla is a top tier debut song, and will always be one of my favorite itzy tracks. It also has such a nice meaning to it.
Its a dogshit song and totally weak as a debut. Would be interesting ur thoughts if this was a weki meki debut song. Suddenly your not feeling it lol
We know where that meaning came from, big 3 watching BTS meaning's since 2017 Love Yourself Trilogy, after BTS LYT everybody started using Self Love and confidence using the same which BTS used prior
@@Ha-young_is_Just_Too_Fine how to telling them how dumb r u without telling them
Jyp doesn’t care about general public he cares about creating solid fan bases that will not leave no matter how a group performs. It’s not about the moment it’s about longevity
Seldom happen to JYPE group. IMO, SME and YGE really captures the longevity of fanbase. I think.. JYPE should ignore the MissA trauma.. and start to push them individually one at a time
The gg competition is so high. This year Ive, Lsf, New jeans did the best compared to bigger groups like Itzy, Aespa, etc..
Sneakers did better surprisingly.. Cheshire is so much better.
Itzy used to get 9-10 music show wins per song but now it has decreased to 2-3. How are they doing well?
@@hibeautym Music shows have changed the criteria most groups will never get 9/10 wins. Music show wins mean zero. Album sales and tours make companies money. Streaming doesn't pay much at all so ITZY is doing what ITZY needs to do and that is sell albums and tickets. Music shows are for fans to brag about nothing more.

Literally everyone who debuted after Itzy doing amazing.
Exactly. Charts don’t matter compared to the strength of a fanbase, and Itzy’s international’s is very strong.
Cheshire was ok, Sneakers and Boys like you are trash and kinda ruined it for the Cheshire comeback cuz people are expecting it to be bad again.
You lost it by bragging about BP and BTS
Period!!!
The range of discography and content is consistent with the fandom strategy as opposed to the popularity strategy
itzy has my limitless support.
Mine too
Itzy just had a bad few comebacks, and now they’re back to the old itzy more.
Lia can sing for sure and can sing quite stably while dancing with heavy choreography. That takes a lot of dedication and training.
She got another ost blue hour 😭yesss

And i want to quote tyler the creator "if you miss my old sounds just listen to them they are available for you to listen".

Itzy is amazing and there talent is outstanding, it must be so hard to be perfect all the time.
@𝙄𝙐 🌸 아이유 cheshire was great
I feel like it’s a little weird that their success in American charts was not mentioned. Their last 3 consective albums charted well in billboard 200. Just because they aren’t doing well in Korea doesn’t mean they aren’t doing well. Also in my opinion NMixx is not it. I hope Itzy continues to put out music and can start to be themselves more.
Agreed
including the cheshire album. it debuted on number 36.
True...I feel like people choose to focus on the negative
Negative news attract more views and anti-fans. I guess Itzy has to win some awards or break some records every week to be considered not “falling” 😂

I can't even count how many times I watched that MV.
Second favorite song after not shy
I love that song and choreo
@Byskl ok. Everyone has different tastes.
i've noticed that jyp girl groups usually start off strong but eventually, their popularity declines for some reason and i blame that on jyp. it all started with wonder girls. they were MASSIVELY popular with their hit song "nobody" and it was impressive how it spread throughout other countries considering social media wasn't widespread. now, their popularity declined whereas 2ne1 and SNSD are still well-known even after the disbandment and hiatus. unfortunately, twice is also following wonder girls' footsteps. yes, they're still popular though they're not making much noise as they used to. from being chart monsters to freefalling from the charts even though they released quite good songs. now, i see a similar pattern happening to itzy and also with nmixx. the problem with jyp is that they mass release so many comebacks that there's no anticipation anymore, making their artists overwork. it's such a shame that wonder girls was the leading gg household name in 2nd gen then jyp just wasted it.

BLY and sneakers are bops though. I don't get the hate, if people say it's cringey, i think most kpop songs are cringey unless you get a hang of it. samee i rlly liked boys like u n sneakers
Why do you think they are declining?? They are going strong...they are not doing well in kcharts doesn't meant they are doing down
they say that because they compare it with past eras where every body love them but the music hasn't been that good lately
they are quite literally doing great, it is really just the hype around all the new groups that is taking some of the spotlight from them. there has been a shift in kpop recently where people have gotten too used to having something new and great all the time. The industry has become massively oversaturated so if you aren't new and shiny people don't want it. The long-time fans will always be there and that is what matters.

@@jazmin831honestly, txt and enha are the only two bg’s even popular or relevant rn🤷♂️
Jype just needs to hire better song writers for their 4th gen ggs. Give us an rnb or some pop or old school retro music again like wonder girls.
Well I'm early. Thank God. And, I love ITZY.
I wonder if a competitor group had this channel make this video because itzy is doing well! Cheshire did ok! They’re dope and have a big fan base
Yeah if Itzy stays away from Sneakers and Boys like you type of vibe then I think they won’t decline
@@hallooos7585 Please, ppl have been on Itzy's a** about their songs since MITM☠️
@@JH-jb6yo true💀
@@JH-jb6yo *Not Shy
Fans are just really stupid these days Cheshire is a really amazing if you understand the concept and meaning they just don't get it
ITZY isn’t flopping, like I see the point they’re trying to make, but it’s the same thing with twice, ITZY has a strong fan base, they’ll be fine
I love Mafia, Loco and Not Shy. So saying that it was the start of their downfall made me question myself 😅😅
I will still keep them on my playlist tho. idc what others say. they are bop!
But I agree that the last comeback is lackluster. they started with the boss vibe, now they are like high school it girls.
These songs were the best the downfall really is sneakers like wtf for real and boys like you too I was like that's it?
I was literally gunna say Loco, Not Shy and Mafia was the downfall and not sneakers? smh those 3 comebacks slap
Glad they release Cheshire though, they seem to be in the right direction again.
they are not flopping, this group is still a big hit, right now there is a lot of 4th gen groups coming into the kpop industry, so there is a lot of people testing the waters with the new groups, it's only natural, why do people always have to turn it negative, why can't people just accept and enjoy the music we all love!
jyp needs to give their magic back wtf are those new songs
Knetizens are truly mind boggling at times. A single rumor goes around and they call for members to leave groups, absolutely diabolical
From charting on billboard popular album with Checkmate at #8
To Charting with Cheshire on billboard world popular album #2
Cheshire top album sales on billboard #4
All their comebacks makes them more and more popular.
“Don’t have the star quality to attack people,” tell that to the thousands of people Constantly making fan accounts and appreciation edits of all 5 members, whoever said that is spilling bs
Itzy is fine. Not every song will be a hit, and they have released good songs. "Boy Like You" is AWESOME.

iMO they reach their peak at Wannabe era, after that their lead single releases was not able to surpass that or even match it.
The thing is’ IVE, LESSERAFIM, New Jeans, and G-Idle are releasing consistently good songs and being managed effectively. ITZY is stuck in their debut era. Even Aespa and Kepler are catching up to them.
Fr. I really hope the next comeback they have after (born to be) will be more surprising. Especially w lia ❤
I blame Sneakers.
you guys keep overlooking this istg there will always be a time were people wont like their songs not only itzy but other groups that are debuting now will most likely experience this i actually cant believed you guys actually went so far to saying they are an experimental/test group literally you guys said that you wanted a different sound because there being confident in your self concept was apparently boring and repetitive to you so when they try something fresh but when that happens all of a sudden they want to start liking their old concepts saying that they should've never changed their sound. honestly im glad itzy changed their sounds cuz it did a whole fandom reset or whatever.
They are still succesful,period
I don't understand why MITM or Loco not liked ? Literally my favourite songs but each to their own 🫥🫥🫥
ITZY is still at the top in music. Flying under the radar? Yeah riiiight! They just finished a very successful world tour a month or so ago! Geesh!
I love how the comments are supportive love yall fr
I wouldn't say their falling, there are times artist won't hit their mark to get some trophy on a shelf. Plus there's a lot of competition for this current generation, I wouldn't really be surprised if they won't get an award or chart lower than other groups for a little bit, especially considering the fact that this might be the most competitive generation for kpop.
So, flop? No of course not. Are their recent songs award worthy? Not really. Are they being set up for failure? I wouldn't say so, I think they're just trying to see what works and what doesn't.
Either way, keep supporting our girls!
Unfortunately ITZY will face the same fate as did CLC
Also, Loco was a cultural reset. That song DID NOT flop.
Itzy is amazing I love them so much they are so talented
After missA, JYP sadly has been doing this to every group under the company!
@@rahinaissaka7004it's not about switching concept we just want good music
What if Itzy paved the way for the new groups’ success
I became a fan of kpop because of Itzy, If selling over 1 million albums in 2022 is a flop then there are alot of flops in kpop.
Am not a midzy, but I think itzy is doing good,,competition in 4th gen is real high and most are debuting to raise popularity and forgetting being all abt music ,bse of this groups standing out will be varying alot ....but there doing just fine
Fall ? Who’s falling because the itzy I’m hearing is devouring! If itzy ain’t for you MIND YOUR BUSINESS.
Because JYp don't support solo
I think ppl constantly expect too much, I love everything they put out bc I love them🤷🏾♀️
them saying itzy can't sing well... thats why they did cheshire when they hit those high notes ✋😔
I dont know what peoples want from them but i think they doing so well i really like their songs there r also some groups who not even releasing any album but atleast they making comeback and giving their fans best songs yeah its true thats jyp should give them some solo work bcz in that way people going to recognize them more but i hope that netizen stop blaming them and should support them
All I can say cheshire is the right direction and love this song and comeback. Lots of midzys love it as well so it's a good sign
