    Enemy controller works too well with Diabel. Not only u can dodge targeted effects, but u can use it on your opp turn by stealing their monster by tributing your diabel, and tribute the stolen monster to bring back diabel from the grave.

    Phantazmay is great in a Link meta like we have now for sculpting your hand.
    I add 1x Illusion/Souls + 1 Preparation to as many decks as I can. Being able to return cards to the deck with Illusion is pretty underrated on top of cycling away duplicate spells or on field spells you already plused from. Also, giving you a level 1 to make Anima for free is a nice side effect, especially for Kaiju stans like myself.

    A really cool tech I use in a rogue deck is running emergency teleport in my speedroid deck to summon Ghost fairy Elfobia and lock my opponents. It wasn’t good in fire format sadly but I play master duel so with the hit to ash it’s a lot better now that there’s not as many lvl 1 decks.

    I primarily play ursarctic, so my main way of dealing with bricks is by focusing on engines that have lvl7+ monsters as their bricks. That way I can at least use them as tribute fodder if I open them

    • @JessePerezStrategyGaming
      @JessePerezStrategyGaming  9 місяців тому

      ahh like the horus/kashtira engine? or more like random 1 ofs cards like, pankratops, kaijus, alpha king of beasts that have good utility as well as the levels you need?

    • @noahbee4290
      @noahbee4290 9 місяців тому

      Depends on the build. The kashtira engine (particularly fenrir) is probably the best example, and I normally put it in the same category as kaijus, MoB, etc. The diva/atlantean engine is another good example, where you play 1-2 copies of poseidra (or 1 moulinglacia in place of the 2nd poseidra) to search off Neptabyss and dragoons. If you see any of those search targets, they can still be used as fodder, and seeing Neptabyss over diva, while not desirable, can still be used to search tribute fodder and be used for synchro plays. Dragoons is the only hard brick in that engine. However, this particular engine has started to feel less worthwhile because of the baronne ban

    I run a vanquish soul snake eyes deck, I like using pinpoint landing. No matter what you open with, you are always summoning from hand with either one of those archetypes, so at worst pinpoint is an upstart goblin, at best it's +1 every single turn

    One thing i saw one person use in masterduel for tearlament is 3 forbidden droplet, 3 super poly and 3 trivikarma. So if you go second you use the board breakers, pitch trivikarma and get the field spell. Its pretty cute.

  • @witchmyst
    @witchmyst 9 місяців тому

    I started running a 3x Forbidden Droplet on my Adventure Synchron deck as an extra negate (unrespondable most of the time too) because dumping Water Enchantress doesn't harm my basic combo since she banishes from hand/GY as cost and the Synchrons mostly revive themselves from grave.
    Worst case scenario is that I set the Droplet with 2 face up spells and a monster on my field to send, with Illegal Knight being a quick 2-card bounce (or an omni-negate via Gryphon Rider).

      According some technicality if you have spright elf in your rescue ace deck and you don't summon it before you activate turbulence it's more of a a chance to brick. While if you summon it and your opponent doesn't have imperm, it's also a brick. Recue HQ going first is a brick, however going second it is a nice card. While not having spright elf in your extra deck is usually a bad idea since it's more likely to get your turbulence impermed although anytime I went first I never saw anyone imperm my turbulence and only drawing ash to negate the Emergency! In summary, I feel like there's more options for filling your extra deck than trying to prevent something that has a little chance of happening that often.

  • @Alrange_5
    @Alrange_5 9 місяців тому

    By your logic of "Bricks", the second place deck is identical, but has fewer starters and more "bricks" in super-poly, and still performed very well. Imo the reason he cut diabellestar is to include more rescue-ace cards (impulse, and the third hydrant) to minimize situations where turbulance was dead in hand. Another reason would be making ROTA better, regardless of which target you drew. He also made room for more hand traps (imperm), and going second tools (e-con) which would be better in a mirror, rather than more starters. Honestly, it could have just been a meta where the correct ratios of engine vs non-engine matter more than starters vs "bricks".

    Not exactly a competitive choice, but I've splashed a rescue rabbit package into one of my decks to get to Toadally Awesome. I started out with a classic 3 slime toad 3 turu-purun ratio, but really didn't like how badly it would brick.
    To help mitigate this, i first tried increasing the deck size, but quickly realized my rescue rabbit would hardly ever be opened. With this, I knew i needed to stay at 40 cards, because even with 3 copies of rabbit, 40 cards in deck, and 3 copies of prosperity, I still wouldn't open the rabbit as consistently as i would have liked.
    From here i decided, instead of bloating my deck more, I'd just cut 1 copy of each of my vanillas. Afterall, rescue rabbit needs to grab 2 of the same name, so adding a third copy of each doesn't really increase my usage ceiling.
    For the last step, i needed to find something impactful to fill the gaps. After much debate, i ended up settling on adding Spell Canceller, as it can be a similarly impactful card to Toadally Awesome, if not more impactful in some cases, and would be a cool unexpected bomb i could drop in the cases where I'm unable to get to rabbit. Despite needing the tribute, Spell Canceller, and Jinzo for that matter, aren't all that much harder to summon in this deck than Toadally.
    Another nice thing about the canceller is, my main starter(s) of the deck is/are a special summon, so if i only drew a starter but no extender, and they negate the effect of my starter, i can just opt to tribute over it for spell canceller. Oftentimes that is surprisingly effective at keeping me in the game, and sometimes even straight up steals it.

      This is perhaps one of my favorite comments on this video. I love this because you show your methodology in how you solved your own problem and came to a great conclusion with ratios.
      This is ideal for how most players should deckbuild. I say this because too many times people think they get it perfect at first try. I am constantly trying to improve and balance the techs, ratios, and utility of my decks and time and time again the "Trial and Error" approach works.
      Thank you for sharing this!

      I should have clarified on that line but didn't feel like I needed to go into detail on that engine but now since someone is confused here's how it goes.
      Bonfire searches Snake-Eye Populus.
      Populus SS itself when added to hand
      Populus effect adds sinful spoils snake-eye
      Sinful spoils snake eye gets hydrant.
      In the end bonfire gets hydrant with no normal summon wasted. So while bonfire doesn't directly search hydrant, it still gets hydrant by adding in 1 populus. Great question sorry for confusion.
